Easter Early

Just got back from Early Easter.  The whole clan in one place even if that place was Woodland, CA.  Interesting big little town.
"Scooter" inspects the goodies.
It is true.  Everything Joel Kotkin said about a flyover state within a state.  If Dilbert Doofen were here he'd suggest rightly several flyover states.

Fresno, Bakersfield, Ontario and San Bernardino are rapidly becoming the Bantustans — the impoverished areas designed for Africans under the racist South African regime — in California’s geographic apartheid. Poverty rates in the Central Valley and Inland Empire reach over a third of the population, well above the share in the Bay Area. By some estimates, rural California counties suffer the highest unemployment rate in the country; six of the 10 metropolitan areas in the country with the highest percentage of jobless are located in the central and eastern parts of the state. The interior counties — from San Bernardino to Merced — also suffer the worst health conditions in the state.

Excuse me now while I check my insulin levels.

  2. Good Morning!

No surgery but rehab it looks like.

Low paid jobs are subsidized by welfare. The farmers second harvest.

    1. Good. Back surgery is just awful, aND don't seem successful for the ones I've seen who have had it. Rehab often works and almost never make you worse.

    2. Agreed. After a post operative infection back in the early '80s, I vowed to never again have any elective surgery.

  3. Me too, I just want to get back to having more fun. Would you like more pics of my attempt at steel art?

  4. Yeah, except I can't seem to download them. Can you make them blue, so I can click on them?

  6. Ask RD if the blog can do it, kid says it's beyond my capability. She says copy and paste the link is the easiest.

Pinch it just standing up from being on my knees setting a floor jack. I was wrestling with my jet ski minutes before. Total surprise to me but a new limit has been set for this old guy. Getting old is fun! :(

  8. Okay that mingled up a bit. The first three characters are open angle, letter a, close angle. The last four are open angle, forward slash, letter a, close angle. You may know angle as "less than" and greater than. Forward slash is divide.

  11. LBD..just an fyi..I started doing yoga (yeah..I know..yoga) a couple months ago (YouTube has some good starter programs)...and it has helped me immensely with my lower back issues..as well as just improving my overall flexibility in general. I do a 20 minute session..three times a day..has worked wonders for me.

As an added benefit..it seems to help me to get a good restful sleep at night (I don't toss and turn as much as I used to)...

anyways..you may want to check with your doctor to see if that might be an alternative for you ..

best of luck with the rehab...

  14. I've been very busy and away for the past few days. Things will resume. Eventually I will have enough in the que that discussions will self perpetuate but it takes a little time.

  19. People seem put off by having to "register." If there is another way that doesn't steal an hour from my day removing spam I would do that. And face it. There are several who don't want an account traceable to the comments they make.

  21. So the genius sez the dollar is too high and so yield go down. I do not und r r stand why anybody takes him seriously with regard to what he says. You hav ed to see what he does, and even then. .

  22. Just like O his actions didn't seem to match his comments either.

Just watched a BBC video where the person claimed the Tesla home battery was about $3K to store $3 of electricity. Doesn't sound economically feasible.

  24. "Take him seriously but do not take him literally." Use that filter and he doesn't look half as crazy. The MSM continues to do the opposite with the obvious disconnect.

  25. Powerwall. 7kWh. SoCal 20¢/kWh. $1.40 of storage for $3000. If you have surplus solar then you save $1.40/day. $42/mo. $500/yr. Ex-interest, ex-subsidies ROI 6 years. Makes sense.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Financing $3000 would be less than the monthly savings so cash flow positive from the start. And 20¢/kWh is conservative.
