National Park Service, Another Swamp

Protest the massive fee increases:

Here is what I wrote:

Comments: "The National Park Service preserves unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the National Park System for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations." Either the NPS rewrites its mission statement or the NPS reconsiders the usurious entrance fee increase proposals as the fee schedules being proposed are antithetical to the reasons the NPS exists.

  1. On a related note my Goodwill habit had a nice payoff. In a giant pile of junk I found an Alfred Ray Burrell etching of Half Dome. There is no image on the internet but he does have a permanent exhibit at FAMSF.

  4. President Donald Trump announced plans to cut the park service’s budget by 12.9 percent in 2017

  5. I disagree. the $2.55b budget Trump proposes is the largest ever with the exception of a one time spike in 2009. Our legitimate "disagreement" is over things like EPA overlap and new acquistions.

  6. I think that Trump should be forced to live like an ordinary rich person,.like Rob

  26. And a Merry Christmas Eve to All from Echo Beach!

48 and sunny this morning, and today I got outside to see the dawn light show!

The fire seems to be mostly over with at this point, but I can still see some smoke out over the mountains. Probably backfires to clear out remaining fuel.

We're supposed to have highs in the mid to high 70s by mid-week.

  31. In the I'm glad I didn't live then department. King Henry VIII's bed was basically straw. His minions jumped m up and dow on it to make sure it had no lumps and then put pads and sheets and blankets over it. The straw just had to have bugs.
Not to mention he died in great pain at 56.

    ReplyDelete
  32. The "condition" of his legs is far too gruesome to describe here. One wonders if the great houses had but a little more cleanliness.

BTW, considering his likely aliments 56 was a good run.
