Asian Overflow

This weekend should prove interesting. There are far more than a handful of interesting items to grab hold of and see what develops. The asian markets should give us a clue or at least a peek under the flimsy cloth covering the good parts.

  1. First time you ever posted an Asian booby-trap.

  2. Dawg, better watch out; whilst running errands I saw kc or a clone (with a pink iPod!) in Fresno. Right next to the Jamba place. Moving south to "befriend" you?

Watch your six! You know the drill.

    I'm in lust!

I'm also wondering how Hank and Benny screw my SKF this weekend.

Dawg was correct, it dropped to around 95 but I missed it at that level and bought in around 109.

I wanted the fucking FURST but posted about Miss Mega breasted slanted clam anyways.

Are you saying the markets are moving sideways?

  5. This photo reminds me of an embarassing time in my youth, after I'd first heard the expression "More than a handful is a waste." In my innocence, I heard it as "waist" and I couldn't for the life of me figure out the expression.

PS What it all comes down to is whether we will have a world-wide recession or a world-wide depression. The debts can't all be swallowed by the US taxpayer... or by us furriners. I look forward to angry studies over the next ten years as to who exactly wound up with all the goodies produced by the excess liquidity generated by central banks worldwide. Judging by the tiny amount of clothing she owns, the lady in question is not of that ilk.

  6. Too funny NR! Societe General research is calling for S&P to fall to 500. A fall of 70% from its high of 1,575. But they just call it a deep global recession not a depression.

While America will have a lot of pain I think we will come out of this at the head of the pack. Unless you work for a defense contractor. I have to think that the military will draw the short stick in future budgets.

    wagga:

Intervention by the Fed and Treas definitely works, until it doesn't. Life sucks going against them but can be profitable.

I didn't claim sideways but I'd agree with that. Sideways because it is in very rich and powerful people's best interest to keep it that way while transfering as much debt to the Scummy taxpayer as possible.

    NR:

I'd buy her new clothes if I got to help her change into them.

  12. I like to think the S&P is hitting short-term botton around 1220, but this excerpt from a Bloomberg story about a week ago should give one pause: "The benchmark index for American equities is valued at 25.5 times profits over the last 12 months after climbing to a five-year high of 26.2 in August. The last time the average multiple rose above 25 times earnings, the S&P 500 fell 38 percent."

  13. The stock markets are gonna tank when earnings are recalculated. Even GE is grinding downward. I expect the ^HGX to get into the 60s and that after survivors' bias eliminates bankrupt homebuilders.

    S&P? Isn't there support at 960? I'm not sure.

  14. I wonder what Tanta looks like in fishnets? She's super hot and hates pink and drop wasted pants at Ann Taylor too.
Finance depresses me as much as politics these days.

  15. I hate politics and investing so I am buying a farm. Then I will have no money and no time. Also, no cable...bliss.

  16. SKF ... yow, shorts scare me and ulta shorts scare me 2x, even in the craptastic financial sector. If I'd gotten in at 109 it'd be tempting to get out at 113 and take my 3.6% profit and wait for the next entry point.

VIX is getting close to its July highs ... I'm looking for 27-30 to signal a short-term bottom.

The only think I like in the near term is UUP (Dollar long) but I'm waiting for a dip. $1.40 euro-usd would be a good entry point.

  17. What is it with men and these big-breasted freaks? It makes me wince to look at these pics....

Ah, but it is not as painful as reading the financial news these days.

I just checked in to make sure that Rob hadn't been arrested for murder after Casey sidled up to befriend him and query how come this blog doesn't talk about him any more.

  19. MOM,
The picture and text are tongue in cheek. Chosen for the almost comic book character and double entendre. My reaction was that I hoped her health plan covers reduction surgery.

  20. There was a train wreck, headed to Ventura County. But I know Rob was not on it, because he would never do that sort of thing.

Anybody watching our other train wreck friend?

    ReplyDelete
  21. That would have been exactly the train my daughter would have been taking home from UCLA. The 4:00 Friday Metrolink. Needless to say we are reconsidering how she gets home on weekends.

As to boi in the closet; nah. Not interesting. I'd like it if he could scrape together $250 for caseyserin.info maybe we can swing a sweet cashback deal.

  22. I hope the U.C. system doesn't completely suck these days thanks to Arnold, Prop 13 and stupid ass Boomers who believe they are somehow above the problems they create.

    ReplyDelete
  23. This is exactly why I don't give much money to my alma mader. I couldn't give a rat's ass about football games and tri-tips.

    ReplyDelete
  24. How the heck do you take a train from UCLA to your neck in the woods? The train runs straight east from Ventura County through the SFV into Burbank and Glendale and ends up at Grand Central Station.

Wondering because my wife works at UCLA and we live in Simi...would love to work out a better form of transit than the 405.

(still hurt about Simi called being "Lancaster South")

  25. There is bus (shuttle?) service UCLA to Van Nuys that takes less than 1/2 hour and then the 100 series trains run (ran) fairly frequently weekday afternoons all the way to Montalvo. Cheap as gas and comfortable.

Seamy Valley feelings hurt? Take solace that I am in that 5% minority that pronounces it correctly. [siih-mi]

  26. Scary, Rob. It seems like there are too many accidents on the Metrolink. But this is only the third bad one. There are 42,000 rider a day, so I guess the chances of dying are pretty low. How the two trains ended up on the same track -- and how they cannot explain that yet -- is a worry.

    ReplyDelete
  27. there are lots of reasons why Metrolink is a mess. The track space is rented from UPRR. This means you are mixing incompatible services. The line operates past capacity during commuter peaks.
What this is is a small taste of the clusterf&ck that high speed rail would be if prop 1a passes.

    ReplyDelete
  28. High speed rail will operate on dedicated track. This is the opposite of Metrolink. It would be nice to have at least one section of the country that keeps up with the standards of Europe and Asia. It is bad enough that the political situation is like the late soviet era.

    ReplyDelete
  29. HSR is going to have to share right of way with freight on separate tracks but in places simultaneous ops won't be possible.

  30. rob, i'm hoping you can get a post up about kc. with his new site up and trolling, i think we all need an opportunity to vent.
