  2. I think the separating kids thing and putting them in cages will be T's downfall. Some republicans are becoming less obsequious.

  4. Why (again) would an Obama policy bring down Trump?

    Is that elk named Waldo?

  6. Good Morning!

Week of rain and tornados continuing. No news of property damage so far.

Thanks, I miss the fall when they change and the sound of the wind and the leaves. I don't miss raking them up. Now I have a lot of pine and cedar trees, no leaves to mess with except the locust and silver maple easily mulched by the lawn guy. :)

T is only in trouble with those who hate T. Not T's law and he wants change. Dems are failing to get traction on any issue. IMO

  7. I guess you could put them all in jail.

  8. No room in jail, unless you let out the minor drug offenders.

  9. Ok to put citizens in jail and separate them from their kids but immigrant criminals it's inhumane? The parents are the ones who trigger this whole event by breaking the law. T didn't make the law and others ignored the law. Congress refuses to do anything due to party gridlock and political gain. Which way is right?

  10. The kids of real criminals are generally not put in cages.

  11. Hey, how about internment camps like we did for the Japanese???

  12. Hmmmm, to use Darwin to his fullest, we make it very very hard to get in so only the smartest, cleverest, sneakyist manage to get in, and not get kicked out. They will figure out how to get their kids in. In the meantime, they had no warning this would happen, since nobody was enforcing the relevant court case.
In the meantime too, we can't let all the Cubans in Cuba in, nor all the Mexicans, nor all the Chinese who want to come. Making these decisions is painful and the Congresspersons don't want any pain for themselves, such as being unelected.

  13. I don't like Ted Cruz for a lot of reasons, but he's been pretty sane on this issue.

  14. IMO, you have to provide a legal path for these people or they will just come in illegally. The demand is still there and just like drugs or abortion, if you make it impossible to do it legally, people will just transition to illegal methods.

  15. Yep. History shows that the great human migrations are stopped or faciliated only by mass murder. The Chinese built a wall that was very very successful for a long time. It was supported by warriors who didn't hesitate to shoot arrows at the other side. We are too weaselly to encourage that sort of thing. And these people are not violent criminals,or warriors like the Mongols were. The Romans many wars were partly about keeping too many barbarians from coming in.
Our murderousness towards the Indians would have been worse if so many of them hadn't died of disease first. They would have been better off if THEY had built a wall.

  16. I note some of them are fleeing deadly gangs. Gee, we don't know what to do about gangs either. I wonder if gangs decrease if employment increases?

  17. Couldn't find useful statistics. Data only to 2012. Seems a little bit related. Kids who stay in them only live to a bit more than 20.
