An Unusual Idea of Constitutional

At a press conference in Washington D.C., Garcetti accused the Trump administration of practicing the "politics of distraction and destruction." "There is not a single mayor in this country that says 'Please, if you're a criminal, come on over. And if you're undocumented, bonus points!' This is a myth," Garcetti said. The mayor of L.A., who is in D.C. to attend the annual U.S. Conference of Mayors, said he will continue following the law when it comes to illegal immigrants. "You can threaten subpoenas, you can threaten arrests, and we will keep abiding by the constitution and keeping our people safe."

Funny.  I usually think of refusing subpoenas and resisting arrest weren't law abiding acts.

Well various states have been ignoring pot laws for years.

LBD said...

Yes a weak President who failed to enforce the laws. Now we have one who does and the opposition is screaming. I don't don't like traffic laws and want to drive any way I want. Crazy :)

The reality hits when they start hearing “there seems to be an irregularity concerning your application for federal matching funds...”.

Garcetti should be happy with an honest immigration policy that filters out criminals. No control is a welcome mat for criminals.

"Bring the money back" is a lot bigger than people imagine. This is unallocated cash. Not debt. It is going everywhere.

CNN’s Jim Acosta, reporting live from the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, told his colleagues that it was a “pitiful display” to see Klaus Schwab, the head of the WEF, acknowledge media bias against President Trump.

During his remarks in a Q&A session at the global forum, Trump commented on the bias of the press, criticizing their coverage. Acosta must be used to the commentary from the president, but he took exception to agreement expressed by the head of the WEF.

“It was rather remarkable to hear the founder of this WEF also take jabs at the press and say that the president is the victim of biased interpretations and misconceptions,” Acosta said. “That was a fairly pitiful display.”

The CNN reporter also expressed disappointment that the largely elite crowd at the forum did not protest Schwab’s remarks.

“That’s the environment we live in with President Trump,” Acosta concluded.

Lawyerliz said...

Hard to be kind.
Also on the few press things I've observed, they have been inaccurate and wrong.

Lawyerliz said...

The press that is.

Kali no has straws on their axis of evil plastics products. Thank goodness their retirement funds are on solid ground and politicians have time for nonsense like this. :)

Rob Dawg said...

She had a hardware issue with her usual sign in.

Rob Dawg said...

Haha. Plus directions on burning books I suspect.

A $1000 fine for suggesting a straw? What will they fine a car salesman for pushing the car with air conditioning?

They tried to explain foreclosure once on tv. Omg. Apparently they didn't hire a foreclosure atty.

Lawyerliz said...

No, well, yes. Don't know how to change my handle back. Still a lawyer, tho retired, still despise Trump, still like tarriffs, tho it's being done in the worst way. Roofer started next week. Son and wife doing well, except cold.

When she saw what she had done.
She give her father 41.

Drinking straws. This what you do after saving the whales and boredom set it. Love being a crazy Flatlander with better things to do. :)

Lawyerliz said...

Naked straws? Well, plastic does hurt sea beasts. Whales have not been saved by the way.

Lawyerliz said...

But $1k? Really stupid.

LBD said...

Yes, straws out of the wrapper. :)

Rob Dawg said...

Wait for the first lawsuit when a customer pierces their cheek with a broken Pyrex reusable straw.

I'd also be willing to bet that reusing straws is worse for the environment than disposables.
