did you hear about that company "Moviepass" (iirc)..$10 per month subscription and you get to go to unlimited movies (max one per day). Supposedly covers most of the major theater chains..but AMC is trying to stop them.
Can I see it with my left over eclipse glasses or will I really have to wait 34 years to use them again?
Mike, I have seen it but do not understand the dynamic or their plan. I have tons of fascinating speculation. No doubt if the manage to insert themselves into the process they can leverage massive discounts. Theaters don't get much from the box office anyway.
When it comes to the tickets industry the fact that Ticketmaster still exists has me giving up trying to understand the sector.

yeah..i saw an interview with the CEO..and from what I can tell..right now they are not getting discounts from the theater chains..but they think they will eventually be able to prove value to them thru their data collection and increased concessions.
I personally think they'll get picked part from adverse selection..but the CEO didn't seem too worried about it..
I dug the movie Melancholia, but you either love Lars von Trier or you hate him.
