For a while 3D printing was an answer looking for a problem. Computer modeling got so good so fast that "mock-up" was in danger of being shoved in the drawer with drafting instruments and slide rules. Price/speed/quality has now improved to the point that the actual product can be printed.
On the off chance that readers are interested or might know someone who likes this stuff check out this electric R/C airplane.
Here's the link. Might need free registration but once you see the site you are going to register anyway.
Housing posts coming tomorrow. Revisiting the High Desert.

Maybe 3D printing print us up an offensive line up here??
(NFL draft..soon to begin.. reference)
Can you believe the "picks" NE has (doesn't have) this year? Why even bother? Actually if they pick a diamond out of the mud it will just be another jewel for Bill B.
This year it looks like everyone in contention needs some youth on the offensive line.
You might know my wild ass out there predictions. This year I predict the Patriots will do a pass option play with three potential passers. Possibly even a lateral before the real pass.
Cinco will agree. 14-2 or better no matter the NE lineup or injuries. I would not take any odds against 16-0.
imo..Patriots shouldn't even be allowed to draft..just to make the league more competitive. they'd still win the SB of course..
Let's print out a whole airplane
I'm making spagetti. Will it be possible to print out spahetto, neat.sause and all?
Or, a catz' purr?
Sex robots + in-home 3D printers seem like the logical synergy here..
Jean Luc Picard: "Computer. Earl Grey tea. Hot."
Have you read about the salad robot? Pretty cool. And my favorite spaghetti place has one of those Coke machines. Raspberry Lime with the press of a few buttons. I expect ice cream next.
Sweet cream.
Vanilla bean, medium ground.
Two swirls caramel.
Heath bar.
1/2 measure whipped cream.
Light Graham cracker sprinkle.
Hot chocolate on the side.
Blood sugar went up just reading about it.
Salad robot?
now..if you can get a robot to pick the salad (from the fields)..you're on to something..
My eldest is "in the fields" some eight weeks out of the year running experimental planting and harvest 'bots. Thus is the life of a millenial with almost a Masters in Agronomy.
> "Blood sugar went up just reading about it."
I wasn't even reaching. I can concoct death by dessert from a typical fridge Some are born to sweetness.
harvest 'bots.
so how close are we to going full automation iyo??

Not even opinion. NOW. All that needs to be worked out is the most cost effective transition. There will be resistant corners and niche corners where Este type caché persists.
the hour before the NFL draft..nothing beats it (anticipation wise) in sports
Not even opinion. NOW.
yeah..that's what I suspected..doesn't seem like a huge hurdle engineering wise. Lot's of other (political) reasons to keep the migrant work forces in place I guess..
I love not having to spell it out. EN readers are some of the most perceptive on the internet. And no, I do not take any credit, I just appreciate it.
Browns are on the clock!!
so they are expected to take Myles Garrett (DE) here..but rumors are they may go QB (Trubisky)..which would completely cause chaos on everyones draft boards :)
EN readers are some of the most perceptive on the internet.
so we're not "Dim"..lol
flooding the country with low skilled laborers..pretty obvious
> "rumors are they may go QB (Trubisky)..which would completely cause chaos on everyones draft boards
You called it.
Chi trading up one spot was weird..nice haul by SF
Luckily I do not desire to know this football stuff.
Digging in the dirt is fun! More Marigolds to plant! Grass is bone dry. One more tomato plant. They didn't have any btoccoli or cabbages, alas.
Yeah, I could plant seeds.
I had A slide rule once. I didn't like it.
As a kid..I used to calculate batting averages (and ERA) for my dice baseball league using a slide rule. Seeing/using my first digital calculator was a life changing event for me (only a slight exaggeration)...
I also invented the internet (kind of)..when as a youth..I asked (for Christmas) for a digital scoreboard in my back yard to show me real time scores and info from my favorite sports teams..
In the 70s there was some weather research in Africa with the Russians. Hub couldn't go of course, but the others said the Russians went gaga over the calculators--the ones with red led numbers and tried to buy them off the NOAA guys for outrageous sums.
slide rule to digital calculators was the biggest/most profound tech transition in my life imo...way better than smart phones/pc's etc
Sorry, I just can't agree with that. My phone is a connection to a good percentage of all the inforMatin on earth.
Nitey nite, all.
tried an iPhone a while back..hated it.
back to my flip phone..prefer to surf the net with a full pc/keyboard
Trump scaring off all the field help... and when they come back they won't be needed?
Happy to see McCaffrey go high in the first.
Yeah...he'll fit in the Carolina offense very well imo..
sweating out the Seahawks/packers draft right now
Yup... No real needs at NE... But they might get a chance to pick up Hamilton from Bama in the third. A good backup LB couldn't hurt
You say that like it's a bad thing. BTW, this is to years in a row without a first round pick
First round nearly done. G'night
