Sublime Subsidence
That was 2013 BEFORE the great overdraft. Very bad.
Not sure what these are but pretty. New ID: Mexican Evening Primrose.
Excramento CA is about 56 ft above sea level. It was built on the high spot. Interesting fact. In the 1860s the city was classified mountainous for the purposes of Federal railroad subsidies.
That's orders of magnitude more than the sea levels are supposedly rising.
"Sea level rise" almost everywhere is not more sea but less land and it is indeed man-made. Good observation.
Can you imagine standing up in front of the city council and telling them they could stop ocean intrusion right there, right now? They'd throw you out. Becuase you were crazy? No because they already know the answer.
My middle and her forever are dropping off our camping stuff they borrowed for Coachella. Huge success. Having shade and a grill and surplus seating seating made them minor nobles. A neighbor brought theit propane but forgot the grill. others didn't have the BTUs necessary to cook their meals. Almost all had no prep suraces to make meals. They will go far.
Battle of Bunker Hill. The Brit's could have won with Little bloodshed, but lost half their men. Because of arrogance and contempt for the colonists. Franklin dis one of those modern calculations, at one point, it cost 20k £ per colonist killed. Of course, they weren't willing to share power at home, so why would they with colonists.
The colonists were willing to take benefits from Brits, but not be taxed th pay for them. All very familiar. They claimed they didn't want to pay for a corrupt home govt, book doesn't specify. A connection between one and the other. ColonisTs cheated on trade requirements when they could.
Both ended up a bunch lof money after the wars. A proposed rule: no wars unless you can do it without borrowing.
My location is nice. My house is slightly cheaper than the surrounding ones, but they all have new roofs, which hopefully, I will have done in the next few months. It's a 10 minute drive from the entrance to the space center, and they are hiring.
Old school Republicans must be scared to death of having a leader. So far so good, not perfect but he is going in the right direction. Dems continue to lose their minds. IMO.
I'd like to see him skip straight to infrastructure. Get those Dems used to voting yes on something. But, no matter how desireable it is the Repubs will want to vote no!
Dems are the party of NO! now, Recycling Trumps taxes, Maxine Waters as a hood ornament of brilliance. They are still bitter about the election. T can't do everything all at once and infrastructure is stop gap to me until manufacturing comes back.
A stopgap is better than nothing. Road and bridge and dam repair are really necessary. I wish I was as assured as you that manufacturing WAS COMING back.
It is coming back but not a big jobs program, that's the glitch. Most road and bridge repair money has been diverted and pissed away on the state level. When do we get what we paid for and what's to stop them from pissing away more funds and not deliver the promise? Do you think O's big shovel ready program did a good job? Locally I saw useless work done and no real improvements. IMO
Yes, sometimes you have to cut, but I think that's a bad sign, overall. To see that as a good sign is bad and weird for the investor class to see it as good, especially when it's engineers.
Here, I didn't see anything much done, I don't know if this particular area got any money. Here, there are a bunch of small building projects. What we need is medium priced houses and condos, say 125 k to 275k $. The locals want jobs and at the same time, want to keep it rural.
Cutting is healthy for a Business sometimes. You can't move forward with old technology and that is the new world. Boeing buys world wide I think, maybe a shift there or technology and the possibility of soft sales future.
Gotta do my rehab exercise. I guses the thread is dead. I wonnder if dawg thinks that no matter how much it rains, and whether gently or harx, the aaqafers will never ever fill up?
Yes, I do believe the aquifers will not fill up in our lifetimes. These aren't underground cisterns. these are complex geologies under constant change. think about the hydrostatic pressure necessary to lift the Central Valley. No, many many decades for the water to return.

One bunch of investor say the want 16 or so our, ano the 6. Don't know if the same 6. Apparently ousting one or 2 would be a shocker.

Where are the Global Warmists on the Central Valley sinking?

'Free' college in Europe isn't really free...who knew?
The weather must be nice everywhere today... Nobody stuck inside on their computers
Subprime existence!
I guess it's just you and me, Liz... Off to the gym now...
So, just me. Sad. . Lonely. .

Good Morning! :)
Americans love free stuff and don't want to pay, the other guys can pay for it. LOL!
New method to value your property. Check you altimeter and see if your property went up or down! ;)
And this goes waaaaay back.
Everybody wanted to steal the Indians' land.
Does an inch or 2 count?
Zestimate is the same so far today, so I guess the land did not ascend.
Yes but Location, Location, location are the big variable.

I am seeing fewer men begging than before, although there was one on a busy corner, a couple of days ago.
I fertilizer my gardenias. TheY like it really acid.
Fertilized
Summer time I bet some street people head north.
Looks like T is hurting the Repubs, altho I admit he has been less awful lately. Congress needs some turnover, all the same people is a bad thing.
Perhaps.
Old school Republicans must be scared to death of having a leader. So far so good, not perfect but he is going in the right direction. Dems continue to lose their minds. IMO.
How exactly are the Dems losing their minds? Specify. Looks like it's just you and me baby.

Other posters are welcome to to break into this conversation.
Boeing cut jobs and that make infestors happy. Excuse me, doesn't that mean the company is doing poorly?

Later. Play day and I am still on the side lines but never miss a free lunch. That would not be good American!
Yeah soft sales is bad, right?

Nah... Go ahead 😋
Gotta do my rehab exercise. I guses the thread is dead. I wonnder if dawg thinks that no matter how much it rains, and whether gently or harx, the aaqafers will never ever fill up?
Does Dawg think the aquifers will never fill up, no matter what?
Yep thread dead.
New Post.

No joy in Mudville?
They forced an end to the filibuster over a pretty moderate judge. They'll be sorry eventually, and probably soon
