State officials say the Department of Water Resources is trying to balance the public’s right to information while also preventing critical design elements from falling into the wrong hands.Got that? A 1960s earth dam technology is now a matter of national security.
Bea’s analysis, which relied on inspection records and design specifications obtained before the state clamped down on releasing documents, found that the spillway’s concrete was too thin – as little as 4 to 6 inches in some places. While concrete-strengthening steel rebar was embedded throughout the structure,

Something tells me the hands of the wrong people are lawyers.

Gack. Doesn't Kali have sovereign immunity?? Of course some politicians may get the axe.
And, well they gotta say something in their defense, I guess.
Actually, it used to be pretty hard to figure out what happened when a disaster struck. Read an Ole mystery sytory. . .no fongerprints,m or they weren't categorized. A medical mystery. Why did the mom and baby die as they often did. Now there still are mysteries but we really can figure out a ewhole lot of stuff in many fields, whereas before the offender had a good shot of nobody figuring out what he'd done,.or covering it up,or maybe the offender really wasn't because they really didn't know what they'd done. I did tell you about George Washington allowing a massacre, right? It wasn't actually covered up, but wasn't spread around either. Would Gary Hart made a good president? We'll never know. Maybe the concreteam thing was to cheat and make more money. Maybe it was an accident, which I personally doubt. But people jugements and wI'll ingress to forgive are at an all time low, I think.
Willingness.
Teddy and Mary Jo. History takes strange turns. The entire world is twice as expensive just because of CYA.
Also, you can forgive, but know that the guity person must never be put in a position, where it is easy to do the same bad thing. Rather to subtle for many, I guess.
He got away with it but was no George Washington.
Seems like the enemy is our government hiding it's own wrong doings.
The real reason that we're screwed is that millennials suck as a generation...I can tolerate a few of them, but for the most part I want nothing to do with them. I wouldn't be shocked to see a couple of them show up to work wearing nose bones. Jeez...
They are coming!
So many snowflakes, so few Zambonis.

My wife is going to be soooooo disappointed
Bill O'Reilly. What part of the millions in hush money years ago wasn't the trigger?
My impression is that the spillway was built to the standards of the 1960's. Things are learned from experience -- that's how building codes are developed. The new one will be better. Anyway, it lasted 50 years. Not sure lawyers are needed.
Never liked Bill O'Reilly. Glad he's gone.
Move along, nothing to see here.
Still cleaning up after Roger Ailes culture? Bilge Orielly is past his prime anyway.
How many more are out there?
I wonder how many of these offenses are the result of entrapment?
>I wonder how many of these offenses are the result of entrapment?
You might be able to say that for one instance.
However when it occurs over and over, that's kind of hard to believe.
In younger, more beautiful days, I was hit on, unwanted all to often. I assure you cases of entrapment Are few, tho it may be unpleasant to cone plate the meaning of this.
> I was hit on, unwanted all to often.
And there's the conundrum -- unwanted versus not unwanted.
In the world of celebrities and money I bet the chance of entrapment goes way up. Not excusing for old Bill either.
I was grabbed squished in a subway, no way to tell even, who it was.
Old Bill is unattractive. No amount of money. . . .
And Trump!!! Super yuck.
Am having a contractor coming out this weekend to have numerous things, including a new roof done to this not so old house.
The huts on Gilligan's Island seemed to do fine in hurricanes.
Be sure to check out the Ceramic coated steel shingles since you don't get hail. Real pretty and pretty expensive. Still the permanent color choices can increase resale prices beyond the substantial costs.
A lot of people are unattractive but their money is beautiful to others.
Bill will land on his feet..he has a huge following..and will probably get paid out in full for his Fox News contract...
While I understand the "make it go away" of paying off contracts they just never sit right with me.
Same goes for corporate settlements where the company admits no wrongdoing.
well they just signed/extended him last year..so I'm guessing they knew about at least some of this stuff when they did.
did you see Gronk crash the WH press hearing today?? hilarious..he's my new favorite NFL player..
Goog the Gronk & kittens. One of the few for whom I would be upset if he fell from grace.
Gronk? Kittens?
Let me google that for you:

Gronk enters the WWE ring (a couple weeks ago) is a good one also...
I wuz supposed to know that, hunh.
Here's your team Liz...
Against our advice, Coulter agreed to all these requirements. In return, she requested two measures, which actually had something to do with safety.”
1) That the University of California chancellor request that the Oakland chief of police refrain from telling his men to stand down and ignore law-breaking by rioters attempting to shut down conservative speakers, as he has done in the past; and
2) That UC-Berkeley announce in advance that any students engaging in violence, mayhem or heckling to prevent an invited speaker from speaking would be expelled.
As Coulter explained, “If Berkeley wants to have free speech, it can have it.”
The university’s response was to ban her speech.
Berkeley == Snowflake Island.
None of these people are my team.
yeah well..not hearing a huge outcry from you about this bs..while screaming about every little thing Trump does wrong..
so you're on the team..
Berkeley == Snowflake Island
as a prospective employer..I would immediately jettison any UC Berkeley applicants..for no other reason than bad judgement
House up another 100
so this doesn't offend you Liz?? a conservative speaker is not allowed to speak at a publicly funded university??
Screaming? Tiny?
yes screaming (as much as you can "scream" on the internet)..
and what are your thoughts about these Town Halls..where conservative reps come to answer questions from their constituents...and get shouted down by liberal activists..to the point where everyone gives up any hope of constructive communication..do you support that behavior??
Yeah, she should be allowed to speak. And I have heard her speak and can't stand her and that's allowed too, and this is the first I heard of it.
I haven't seen that behavior but I'm not looking for it either. All I see.is political of all kinds refusing to answer questions.
Yeah, she should be allowed to speak.
absolutely..and the people trying to violently stop her should be arrested and prosecuted to the full extent of the law..
I haven't seen that behavior but I'm not looking for it either.
Google "liberals disrupting Town Hall Meetings" and you'll see dozens of examples.
..and it's not about "refusing to answer questions"..the left just doesn't like the answers they hear..so they try to shut it down..
ok..enough from me..see you guys in about a week...
Same with the right.
Sadly a really nice guy, Tom McClintock (CA4, state senate, assembly) has been singled out for abuse. It isn't we don't like what you are saying, it is we don't want you to be able to say it at all.
Liberals don't believe in free speech that's why they coined hate speech. The shout down at town halls are all orchestrated disruption. Sign of weakness to me.
What did the abuse consist of?
Lol... You bet
Okay... Links please
Good morning.
You know, I said a nice thing about Trump zand then a mean thing. I have heard white people say dreadful things about black people and vice versa. I would never go to a Coulter speech
(I don't think that is screaming) because on tv I found her very unpleasant. I'd like peas on ally to know if ships were or were not steaming to the Koreas. It scaresults me that I can't rely on what he says. This is not tiny and not unreasonable.
Good Morning!
Before the internet we knew way less. I agree with the fact that we don't tell the enemy or plans. T's style unconventional for a politician but seems fairly consistent in actions.
The hub things reporters we pass on top secret info should be persecuted like anybody else. I worry they make too much secret.
WWII "Loose Lips Sinks Ships" It's a problem of need to know and an operation failure, who do you trust?
Who pass on. . . Prosecuted. Stupid spell Check.
Obviously Dawg thinks govt should not hid dam flaws under the loose lips theory!!
I kind of agree as the enemy appears to be the government for not repairing or improving known flaws. Thin line keeping government in check. I don't see this dam as a national security target, way to many soft targets ahead of it.
Morning Liz...
Yep. Just an excuse.
Morning Cinco. Have done some fertizing and choosing which Funds I want based on advuser recomendation, Gloddess help me. He just gets a fee. Then tidying 'cause the maids are coming. Really would like to chop.
The hub and I did this together.
My pomegranite tree has one baby pomegranite. The first one!!!
Silence. Yoo hoo, anybody out there?
So... You clean up before the maids show up? Hmmm
I'm in a meeting...A design review.
My wife used to tidy up before the cleaning lady came. She decided a few minutes more and it was done.
Hey look I'm kinda a mess. I don't expect them to know where my papers go, indeed sometimes I don't know that. Nor do I expect them to pick clothes, clean or dirty, off the floor. I just want clean, shiny surfaces everywhere. Now you know the true me, alas
Trust me we live a comfortable life style and no show home here. :) Putting loft windows polycarbonate panels in the Cabana today.
Where is everyone?
In other words, you don't want your domestic help to think you live in filth...
Yep, you got it. Also it's easier to clean when you can see the floor.
You don't know what filth is until you own rentals. I couldn't work at being as dirty as some people.
Hub just took a picture of a very large turtle in the back that someone had painted a white splotches on the shell of.
Now he's taking a picture of a rose cluster with 9 buds, from yellow through orange to bright red.
