Citigroup Pulls a Casey

WSJ reports:
In a concession to lenders, if a lender is found to have violated the Truth in Lending Act during bankruptcy proceedings, the institution would be subject to fines, but would not have to forgive the loan, as is the case currently.
WTF?!?
Anyway, winter is almost over so it is time to get in shape for the spring rugby season. Scrum down everyone:

In this case it is better to be the #8. ;-)

Why did you leave CR?

Has he jumped the shark?

I left the housingbubble blog shortly after you did...let me know I don't want to be the only loser still over there!

Rob Dawg said...

CR for four reasons.

One it was too hard and time consuming to remain relevant and credible. there are just too many people willing to take the other side no matter the issue.

Two, the signal to noise has gotten out of control.

Three, some quality posters have left.

Four, rent_to_own. It isn't fair that I feed his illness and it isn't fair to me to have to endure his incessant abuse especially when no one else sees fit to object to it.

I could deal with any of those or several at the same time but all at once? Not worth the price.

Oh, and there's a small but niggling issue with CR. He is obviously a little miffed at his position wrt CRE being so unquestionably being demolished.

No big deal. There's plenty of blogs. i might even pay a little more attention to my own.

People forget I invented the "Bits Bucket and Craigslist Finds" open comments threads. Bill at Cr never took that advice. If he had we could have save the blog for a while longer. Still Broward Horne is correct about internet life cycles.

TILA is more of a recommendation than a law with actual teeth.

Yeah, but which sex of Rugby?

Can anybody (other than Dawg) name the reigning Olympic Rugby champ?

Rob Dawg said...

Elizabeth: Wait! You have to take me to shore. According to the Code of the Order of the Brethren...

Barbossa: First, your return to shore was not part of our negotiations nor our agreement so I must do nothing. And secondly, you must be a pirate for the pirate's code to apply and you're not. And thirdly, the code is more what you'd call "guidelines" than actual rules. Welcome aboard the Black Pearl, Miss Turner .

And which country was the first to score an International Cricket victory?

Hint: Not Victoria. Or Barbossa.

Rob Dawg said...

Still waiting for the rugby answer. Wagga knows this is one of my bar bet questions.

Had to look up that first international test match. Fascinating.

Probably India or Pakistan on the cricket and rugby thing, just a guess though.

Without Tanta CR is boring - I only read it for her posts.

USA

Rob Dawg said...

JVJ, right. Rugby was canceled after th '24 games because the French were such poor losers.

Akubi, there's some truth to that. She still never came around to my position of Casey Serin being not so much the exception she was counting on in her analysis. With her gone Bill has been a bit ummm... sure of himself despite being quite wrong and ignoring his own rules about listening to the data. He still hasn't said a word about his recession peak unemployment at 8.0% Hah!

Google is my friend. Easy find.

Man, this is the most boring BCS title game that I can remember. When will the Cartel finally fall and we can get a playoff?

Akubi said...

@Dawg
I liked her literary allusions and funny asides in the comments section too. C'mon *everyone* had a crush on Tanta at CR...
I wonder if she was a Times New Roman font too. What font are you?

Rob Dawg said...

Funny cartoon:
Seattle PI

Yeah, I didn't know it was even tonight. This is the "championship" right? It looks like the JV sides from the Rose Bowl playing.

I think the college season is too long. Pro too.

Rob Dawg said...

Times New Roman here as well. Wagga is purported to be able to sight identify any font. I'm pretty good but he's really good.

Akubi said...

Wagga is Helvetica.
I can't believe you're Times New Roman too.

Is Vikram Pandit also going back to live with his Mommy and Daddy like I do? :-)

I'm still unemployed... waiting a couple of years until the foreclosures and defaults fall off my credit report, so I can apply for more sweet, juicy credit lines.

Still waiting for Galina to return my call -- been waiting 18 months now. She'll call back, I'm sure of it! :-)

Rob,

Sorry to see you leave CR. I agree there is way too much noise there but there are still some quality posters.

CR is decidedly less interesting with all of the noise and without Tantas humor. Now it is like an ESPN forum. I have not posted in a long while. I check CRs posts and appreciate his work but this whole real estate thing has lost my interest.

Rob,

Any chance we can storm the ABC web site and get Stephanopolis to ask the president-elect one question. Why do the people who didn't fall for this have to pay for people who did?

Option 2 can we get Barney Frank to agree to restrict foreclosure bailouts to people who did not lie on the apps?

Option 3 can we get Casey to testify before Congress?

Rob Dawg said...

ABC isn't gonna ask any questions with hard answers.

I vote for option 2.
