Possibly off topic. I somehow clicked a link & got sucked into casey's flickr account. Two comments 1) I would be mortified if anyone lampooned me so mercilously. I could never imagine proudly posting them, especially ones like "my wife no longer sleeps with me."
2) For the first time I got a look at some of those properties, Good Lord! What pieces of crap! No wonder he'd rather squat at Julia's where the plumbing works than move in and try to homestead.
Oh Anon, Anon. You make me feel old. Yes, of course, Ricardo but the "Spanglish" is from an ancient form of entertainment called "Saturday Night Live." I know, I know, there is a show with the same name on one of those, what did they call them, oh yes, non-cable networks. There was this old one called NBC that used to broadcast this funny stuff. Not to be confused with the humor broadcast on the CNBC financial channel.
I'm disappointed that no one from the hater nation came up with the idea to impersonate a reporter in order to get a copy of his closing statements. My guess is that the "reporter" is someone working for one of his creditors and trying to prove fraud so his debt to them can't be absolved in bankruptcy. I'm not sure why a legitimate reporter would need a copy of his closing papers. He can look up the ownership records without Casey's help. I would also think law enforcement could get those papers pretty easily too, which make me think it's someone like CashCall or Countrywide.
Providing the closing papers without a court order is beyond stupid, even for Casey. At least with the blog he could claim it was fictional writing to gain sympathy or some BS like that. Handing documented evidence of his fraud to someone he doesn't know is crazy.
I honestly hope he does not off himself, but I just commented to him that he will probably run off to Isreal like Dov whatshisname, the Pentagon controller.
What happens (tax wise) if the bank accepts a short sale? Will he get a 1099 for the difference between mortgage value and house value? I'm betting this has been covered before, but I'm just too casey right now to look it up.
Also, if those 3 short sales are accepted, it looks like he'll have cleared a lot of boulders out of his way. Of course, he's got the goons at cashcall to worry about, not to mention the IRS and that mountain of credit card debt...

January 15th, 2008: Men wearing sunglasses and suits come to arrest me even though I pleaded with them that I still intend to pay back every dirty penny (and every dirty nickel too).
January 20th, 2008: Prosecuting attorney declares me as a flight risk, sets bail at $100,000. I try to find some "juicy credit lines" to finance the bail but no one will lend me so much as a dollar.
March 4th, 2008: Jury finds me guilty on all counts of mortgage fraud. Sentenced to 7 to 10 years with possibility of parole in 2013.
April 30th, 2013: Leave prison, can't get a job due to criminal record. Came up with a great idea... the U.S. housing market appears to be picking up steam after a multi-year slump. Maybe I can flip houses for a living!! :-)

Then again, it's also one of the last states seeing home price appreciation, which means that all the inflated price cashback frauds will be gravitating there. Any bets on which scam, er, scheme, Casey is about to get involved in?
My bet is that he thinks he's going out to seal a sweet deal on financing for a 100-unit apartment building that will cashflow $5k/month in passive income. In reality, he's about to be on the wrong side of an advance fee scam.
The only other reasons I can think of for him to go to Utah are to sort out the problems with the wrap (hah) or do some mountain biking (no, he'd probably get his murse caught on a tree branch).

Back eons ago, when I did criminal defense law, there was a guy who had some crazy scheme to buy houses using a credit cards. Really. He lied about his income, business partners, what he planned to do with the houses, everything. He pitched the scheme to a bank's LO, who told him to come back next week and meet with their special LO, who had a second job with the FBI.
Got the whole pitch on tape, in addition to signing documents fraudulently.
I was the guy's lawyer. He go 20 months under the sentencing guidelines when he pled out. He plead to three counts of something (this was like 1990 or 1989, so my recollection is faulty), but was charged with 27 counts of various wire and mortgage fraud. He and I sat in the FBI agent's office listening to the tapes. Hours of them. The jury was going to hate this guy, so he pled.
Thing is this was the third bank he'd done this too, there were four others who lost about 300K or so.
He spent the time at Maxwell AFB near Montgomery, Alabama.

Have we ever determined if Casey is Mormon or not? It might explain why he is able to still have some supporters at this point - it's a VERY tightknit community. And it would definitely explain the trips to Utah.

Uncle C pretty much nailed why I would bet my next paycheck that Snowflake isn't a Mormon. He's almost certainly an Orthodox Christian, at least nominally, (Russian extraction boy whose family was part of "colonizing" the satellite Soviet states like Uzbekistan,) w/a heavy overtone of Californian New Age crap slathered over the top. Count on it.
Whatever he is, Casey is most certainly NOT Orthodox.
Unlike Casey, Orthodox Christians don't have "pastors", they have Priests. They don't have "services", they have Divine Liturgy. Most importantly, unlike Casey, the Orthodox do not regard wealth as a sign of God's favor or even as being much of a blessing in itself. Poverty and not cash, is looked upon as a good in the Orthodox mindset.
If you don't believe me, take a look at the life of an Orthodox monk. They monk it Old Skool.
Casey's jargon and mindset appears to be straight-up American evangelical protestant Prosperity Gospel.
Casey's religion is his own newage overlay on what is most likely an evangelical baptist or pentecostal christian fundamentalist sect. Here in the Sacramento area, we have been experiencing a wave of Russian evangelical immigration since the late eighties. There are over 80,000 immigrants, most of them from the Ukraine, though all the Soviet states are represented. As KW noted above, Casey and his family are ethnic Russian colonizers of Soviet Uzbekistan.... perhaps further explanation for his sense of entitlement.
Around the Sacramento region, there are significant concentrations of Russian evangelicals in North Highlands (where the Larchmont house is located), Citrus Heights, Rancho Cordova, and West Sacramento. Each of those areas has an abundance of relatively affordable housing and the churches, grocery stores and businesses that serve the Russian community. And a prevalence of the chosen profession: auto repair and dismantling. Not all of it legit.
This background helps explain Galina's loyalty (divorce would result in shunning), the support of the family, and Casey's access to a community of gullible investors.
More insight to the large Russian evangelical community here in Sacramento:
One thing that should be stressed is that the supposedly "loyalty" of Russian women is frequently touted on the interwebs, especially by FC proponents of mail-order brides.
I like Russian people and Russian women. I live in Russia and work in Russian. However, Russia has one of the highest divorce rates in the world.

I don't think the Roman Catholic church is going to reunite with the Orthodox any time soon - too many compromises would have to be made.

Sid, that's true in Russia, but in Portland (and Sacramento, I guess), the Russian community is overwhelmingly evangelical Protestant. Not a lot of Russian Orthodox around here...
sid, We've got Roman Catholic priests with wives and families already. The Lutherans aren't that far to the other side of the RCs as the Rus/Greeks are . All those Orth/Luth/Roms are looking at interesting times. Latin America is leaning socialist and evangelical. Europe is turning away from religion in a general way. Religion doesn't seem to run deep enough in much of the rest of the world. If they can find some way around the Pope business its a strategic corporate merger.

Agreed. As a matter of fact, I have heard that one of the reasons for the Russian evangelical move to America was to get away from the dominant Orthodox culture in Russia/Ukraine (most of the Russians in Portland seem to be Russian-speakers from the eastern Ukraine).
Cased!: I'd never heard that, although I'd expect more protestants out of western Ukraine.
Most Orthodox in Russia are not exactly fanatics, and those that are quite religious "tend their own gardens", as it were. They get their prayer on, get their fast on, and leave you alone.
This is another trait of Orthodoxy - the Orthodox try to focus on improving themselves rather than improving their neighbors. This is why you don't see much in the way of Orthodox street evangelism or TeeVee preachers.
There are Orthodox television programs here in Russia, but they are very low-key, amateur, by American standards. There might be an open question and answer session with a Priest or monk. No donations are solicited, no operators are standing by, but the program might mention or feature an old folks home or orphanage.
I was supposed to attend Christmas services this year at the largest Orthodox cathedral east of the Urals, but a friend of mine got sick, so I didn't go.

He pitched the scheme to a bank's LO, who told him to come back next week and meet with their special LO, who had a second job with the FBI.
Got the whole pitch on tape, in addition to signing documents fraudulently.
I was the guy's lawyer. He go 20 months under the sentencing guidelines when he pled out. He plead to three counts of something (this was like 1990 or 1989, so my recollection is faulty), but was charged with 27 counts of various wire and mortgage fraud. He and I sat in the FBI agent's office listening to the tapes. Hours of them. The jury was going to hate this guy, so he pled.
Thing is this was the third bank he'd done this too, there were four others who lost about 300K or so.
He spent the time at Maxwell AFB near Montgomery, Alabama.

In the interest of protecting himself, perhaps he should contact the various law enforcement agencies who are actively investigating your activities to make sure that a bench warrant for your arrest has not been issued?

Unlike Casey, Orthodox Christians don't have "pastors", they have Priests. They don't have "services", they have Divine Liturgy. Poverty and not cash, is looked upon as a good in the Orthodox mindset.

Casey's religion is his own newage overlay on what is most likely an evangelical baptist or pentecostal christian fundamentalist sect. Here in the Sacramento area, we have been experiencing a wave of Russian evangelical immigration since the late eighties. There are over 80,000 immigrants, most of them from the Ukraine, though all the Soviet states are represented. As KW noted above, Casey and his family are ethnic Russian colonizers of Soviet Uzbekistan.... perhaps further explanation for his sense of entitlement.
Around the Sacramento region, there are significant concentrations of Russian evangelicals in North Highlands (where the Larchmont house is located), Citrus Heights, Rancho Cordova, and West Sacramento. Each of those areas has an abundance of relatively affordable housing and the churches, grocery stores and businesses that serve the Russian community. And a prevalence of the chosen profession: auto repair and dismantling. Not all of it legit.
This background helps explain Galina's loyalty (divorce would result in shunning), the support of the family, and Casey's access to a community of gullible investors.

One thing that should be stressed is that the supposedly "loyalty" of Russian women is frequently touted on the interwebs, especially by FC proponents of mail-order brides.
I like Russian people and Russian women. I live in Russia and work in Russian. However, Russia has one of the highest divorce rates in the world.

I can see some minor reunification with the Roman Catholics with the Orthodoxies. I don't don't see what the Mormons have that would attract the Slav, Ural and Cauci peoples.
These two articles explain a lot. They provide some explanation of Casey's sense of entitlement, as well as Galina's apparent loyalty (I really don't think she's out looking for another sugar daddy). Finally, I think (and this is NOT making any excuses for her, BTW) that on some level, she is probably being emotionally or physically abused by Mr. Boy Blunder. His brief flashes of temper at his "haters," his delusions of grandeur, and his superiority complex just set off my radar.

I don't think the Roman Catholic church is going to reunite with the Orthodox any time soon - too many compromises would have to be made.
A more likely prospect would be the reunification of the Orthodox with some of eastern churches (Egyptian, etc.), but even that would require a lot of patching over some serious theological differences.

Sid, that's true in Russia, but in Portland (and Sacramento, I guess), the Russian community is overwhelmingly evangelical Protestant. Not a lot of Russian Orthodox around here...

We've got Roman Catholic priests with wives and families already. The Lutherans aren't that far to the other side of the RCs as the Rus/Greeks are . All those Orth/Luth/Roms are looking at interesting times. Latin America is leaning socialist and evangelical. Europe is turning away from religion in a general way. Religion doesn't seem to run deep enough in much of the rest of the world. If they can find some way around the Pope business its a strategic corporate merger.
Rob: there are a lot of things that are keeping the RC and EO apart besides married priests.
Although reunification would give the RC Church a moral figleaf allowing it relaxing its stance on this issue.

Agreed. As a matter of fact, I have heard that one of the reasons for the Russian evangelical move to America was to get away from the dominant Orthodox culture in Russia/Ukraine (most of the Russians in Portland seem to be Russian-speakers from the eastern Ukraine).
Cased!: I'd never heard that, although I'd expect more protestants out of western Ukraine.
Most Orthodox in Russia are not exactly fanatics, and those that are quite religious "tend their own gardens", as it were. They get their prayer on, get their fast on, and leave you alone.
This is another trait of Orthodoxy - the Orthodox try to focus on improving themselves rather than improving their neighbors. This is why you don't see much in the way of Orthodox street evangelism or TeeVee preachers.
There are Orthodox television programs here in Russia, but they are very low-key, amateur, by American standards. There might be an open question and answer session with a Priest or monk. No donations are solicited, no operators are standing by, but the program might mention or feature an old folks home or orphanage.
I was supposed to attend Christmas services this year at the largest Orthodox cathedral east of the Urals, but a friend of mine got sick, so I didn't go.
