In Florida you have n to actually live there or seriously intend to live the r e before you get homestead. Lots of different interesting cases
A person living in his homestead for some n time, was arrested and convicted and put in jail for a while. Creditor argued he didn't live there and couldn't live there because of jail. Jailbird argued he intended to live there and go straight back after he got out of jail. Homesteader--Jailbird won.

Older than dirt. Just fixed a "critter hole" that they were using to enter the attic. Tired! This house had 3 attic vent screens missing when we moved in in 09. It is an "ego" house. Custom design for a couple of airline pilots. I call it the house of 1000 corners.

Re: The Ego House
I am sitting in one of the cockpits as I type. The wife has one and the kitchen has one. In the living room there is a twin engined ceiling fan. There is a small room called "The Mail Room". The joke I tell about the place is that when we first looked at the place we viewed the "Barn" which is two stories. Bottom story has three stalls for horses, a hay storage room, a tack room and a guest bedroom/bathroom. Upstairs is the 3 door garage and a shop. The barn is about 40' by 40'. After viewing the "Barn" we said we will buy it so now lets go look at the house.
The sweet and wonderful wife caught a bad case of "Horse" when young and never recovered.
Liz, We have a roomba vac and one that mops. The edges and corner problem is solved with a battery powered vac with a 2ft extension. We use it for the "finishing touches" after the roombas.
Future grandbaby doing fine, as shown by ultrasound. Yay.
I wanted a n pony for the basement. No way. Made do with stray cats and a nasty chicken.
Of the occasional turtle and goldfiz, which never lasted long.

The Car is a big scam that never results in product but look what we are going to do!. However he has made progress in other areas. Lot's of low end cars making progress like the Chevy Bolt. Top Gear noted on FB that TESLA is missing from Formula E. and The Isle of Man as I noted. Both powerful venues that would prove competitive performance and appeal to J6PK. Watching to see if his battery banks work in Australia or just another government funded drain.
