Why are you not running from your house? The hub and Liz

Burning right to left miles to the north. No danger. Exciting. I do have the Expedition and trailer ready in case my niece needs us. She has already evacuated her house in their RV but so smoky they might come here.

OT. The St Louis Fed sent an email wishing us "Seasonally Adjusted Greetings." Lol.

You do have ve you car packed up the car in case you have to bug out? Don't want those cats damaged.

Rob Dawg said...

Yes, I have the cat containers out. Really, no danger.

Jim the Realtor is worried about you.

Where the fire started is an interesting area. St Thomas Aquinas College is unique. There is awesome hiking behind. A bit down the road is Steckel Park with an aviary. In the summer the area can smell a bit as oil literally seeps out of the ground and pools next to the road.

The biggest difficulty I am experiencing is the loss of a few avocados from the wind. Rally. Don’t anyone worry. If I drive to the fires to help evacuate my niece I will tell you. Until then I decided to not chip and putt practice as the greens are so slick the wind just pushes any stroke off the green. First world problem eh?

Ohhh. The nearest fire line just “woofed up” with a huge smoke plume. Must have gotten into the next Canyon.

Did I mention? There’s another fire in Los Angeles. Creek Fire ripping through neighborhoods.

The super scoopers are grounded by winds. The rotorcraft cannot get low enough. A mess.

45,000 acres. I am seeing homes burning on TV that I recognize.

Rob Dawg said...

Now there’s a third fire. Santa Clarita.

Lawyerliz said...

I thought there wasn't much left to burn. wrong

Thx. Remember that cross on the hilltop with the incredible views? That burned. Still standing but damaged. Moonscape all around.

Good news. The In-N-Out is safe!

The I-5 is Closed near Magic Mountain. The 33 to Ojai and the back road 150 to Santa Paula are closed. Major sh*tshow on the tiny winding last remaining route to Carpenteria.

Another big “whuff” from the area closest to the Dawghaus. Still no danger.

Lawyerliz said...

Yes there is.

Rob Dawg said...

Well I suppose I could get conked by an avocado. Haven’t so much as sniffed any smoke.

They aren’t saying but hundreds of homes have been lost.

Rob Dawg said...

Unfortunately all the areas burnt went solidly for Hillary. Federal assistance may be hard to come by.

Lawyerliz said...

Hey, when is the govt due to shut down?

Rob Dawg said...

Dec 9th? Hopefully not the air traffic controllers as I am flying that day.

TV keeps showing houses I know. Sadly a really neat house burned but the white elephant next door still stands.

LOL - they can be deadly! :)

I thought Cali was pulling out of drought conditions this year.

Rob Dawg said...

This isn’t a drought event. This is a routine brush fire that ordinarily barely rates a mention plus 30+mph sustained with gusts to 60 over three solid days.

Lawyerliz said...

The gloddess is mad at Kalifornia.

Rob Dawg said...

Who isn’t mad at California?

Is 6% humidity low?

Lawyerliz said...

Yes!

Rob Dawg said...

50,000 acres with no viable containment. Still saying 150 structures but I will be surprised at less than a thousand. I will have a cool video up shortly.

Lawyerliz said...

Yes!

Lawyerliz said...

As long as you are still with us. Niece there?
Runnnnnnnn#!!!

A good day to be poor and live in the city. Reminds me of watching Pacific Palisades burn from Santa Monica. Sad events.
