Well, It's not that bad. How much?
How many square feet?
Non matching or harmonizing wood. Bed not properly made. Not horrible.

Lawyerliz said...

If they lowered the price, and then the Buyer could redo it to their taste.

Rob Dawg said...

Liz click on the address for all the details and more Polaroid flashbacks.

I agree it has good bones.

Good Morning!

On the road home, it’s a girl! Now will it be an early tax deduction or a New Year baby!

Lawyerliz said...

Yeah, thx, I saw that.

EngineerJim said...

The front door is on the side of the house ?
Usually not considered good.
Come to think of it, I once had a condo like that..

LBD said...

Wow does this house come with a K-Car as well?

EngineerJim said...

I once had a K-Car as well.

Lawyerliz said...

Is this price considered low or high by Cali standards.
Wait a little longer and it will be retro. And therefore desirable.

LBD said...

One of those Woodie Wagons would fit well in the garage. K-cars were not to bad for the time.

Rob Dawg said...

It's a corner lot so the front entrance is towards the corner. Not as bad as the pictures make out.

EngineerJim said...

The price isn't bad for CA: $369k for 2325 sq ft.
However it was built in 1980.
Had to wait till about 1990 to get more desirable features like higher ceilings, etc.

Lawyerliz said...

Good morning. Now the Pope is being asked to resign. I though this one was kinda ok.

Lawyerliz said...

Oh, I remember them!

Lawyerliz said...

Doing work on my women suffrage speech. Women here in 1776, to name a year, had it more like women in Saudi Arabia now, than any "free" country.

Unknown said...

I heard a saying once that the old south was heaven for Men and Dogs and hell for Women and Hogs.

$160/sf is downright reasonable!

Lawyerliz said...

How true. Southern women were too too delicate. Unless they were poor.

Unknown said...

I would be delicate too if you put me in a corset.

Rob Dawg said...

These days being in the fire zone and with all the fingers in your purse, $160/sf is less than raw replacement value.

LBD said...

Good Morning!

Paint and carpet would do wonders for it. Other wise wear sun glasses and enjoy it.

Rob Dawg said...

Rip out all that damn light oak. Open the pass troughs into open concept. I am not a fan of open concept but these pill box rooms are worse.

Nothing wrong that cannot be fixed easily. Not ADA friendly.

EngineerJim said...

The pope should resign.
Priests should be allowed to marry.
Time to move beyond the 11th century.

Rob Dawg said...

The reason priests were long ago not allowed to marry were necessary. Concentration of property and power, feudal reversion, etc. Priests weren't expected to be celibate, just unmarried and discrete. That later stuff is the problem.

EngineerJim said...

>Priests weren't expected to be celibate, just unmarried and discrete.

Wut ?

The religions of the world are a litany of misogynistic ideas passed down generation after generation to perpetuate the myth of male superiority - to enable men carte blanche to act any way they wish sexually, while women are consistently blamed for male misdeeds.

Today, I think this is most easily illuminated by the "stud" v. "slut" paradox. Identical behavior, (casual sex with multiple partners), is REWARDED and APPLAUDED in males, while identical behavior in females is viewed as sinful, wrong, and perhaps even viewed as a mental defect of some kind.

The worst part is that because the notion is baked into nearly every culture on the planet, (and supported and condoned by all major religions that I am aware of), even the most marginal of advances in the direction of fairness (like admitting powerful males in Hollywood really shouldn't be allowed to force actresses to have sex with them whenever they want), is still couched in terms of an "assault on men."

IMO, until someone comes up with a way to expunge pretty much every word written about sex and women in every religious text of the past 4,000 years, women are going to continue begging for scraps while armies of men get away with sexual atrocities because the "lack of responsibility" for sexual acts of men is literally written into the basic religious texts.

You're really behind the times (by about 20 years).

Blaming Hollywood on religion ?

FormerIdealist said...

I'm for sex.

Firemane said...

Hollywood is just one example.
My rant was in response to a post about the Catholic church.

My point is that it is cultural AND religious AND everywhere.
And the majority of men, (who benefit from this way of thinking), are largely blind, deaf and dumb about it, (or gleefully reaping the benefits).

As for me being 20 years behind the times - just last night surfed into "Definitely, Maybe", (2008) and saw an exchange between father/daughter:

Daughter: What's the male word for slut?
Dad: They haven't made one yet.

Which is still true today.

Of course, how can we expect things to get appreciably better when our most common wedding ritual still asks: "Who gives this woman?"

EngineerJim said...

>Daughter: What's the male word for slut?
>Dad: They haven't made one yet.

Actually it's the same word for male or female: slut.

As far as being 20 years behind the times, I was a little off there. You're 30 to 35 years behind the times.
Look at the College scene of the mid 1980's for example.
Women were encouraged to have as many sex partners as possible.

LBD said...

Sexual behavior is built in to us. Expecting some adults to be around children and not be tempted is unrealistic. These are still people and some yield to temptation. A parent who allows their kid to be in a situation with out other adults around is tempting fate. IMO.

Lawyerliz said...

The were allowed to marry for a very long time. Bishops less so.
Who would volunteer to enter the seminary now? I'll tell you. Women. Admit them or die.

Lawyerliz said...

Nah, it's the other way around. Men act this way, which is obviously not right and then write thousands of pages to justify it. At least the old religions had powerful goddesses to appeal to and priestesses to help.

Lawyerliz said...

Yep, but. . .
. After they yield you lock them away from children.

Lawyerliz said...

I think it's weird.that most in this discussion are men.
I think Susan B Anthony write 2 volumes of the Women's Bible

Lawyerliz said...

The thing about the Cathlic church is it's immense hypocrisy. Not just sex, but the accumulation of wealth and power and power. I don't think Jesus was in favor of any of that. The Pope is not a rock star. Is being cheered by a huge crowd amidst scandal any different from what Trump did recently?.

LBD said...

Men are the aggressor by nature.

Lawyerliz said...

What should you do about that?

Lawyerliz said...

The flag thing is unspeakable.

Lawyerliz said...

2 more years til disaster. Looked at later Casr Shiller index drew a mental line and that's when house prices reach pre recession ridiculousness.
Beware.

Lawyerliz said...

Most recent Case. .

LBD said...

Good Morning!

47th Anniversary today/ :)

The brain is no loner in control of ones actions. If one has an indication of weakness coming then they should change their exposure to the temptation.

The church instead of doing a cover up could have discreetly had their own court including the parents to determine facts and punishment or turn the event in question over to the authorities. IMO

How about that wall street going bonkers!

Lawyerliz said...

The church used to say wisely, "Avoid the occasion of sin." Shame they did the opposite.

Lawyerliz said...

Dowee wowee. 27k here we come?

Lawyerliz said...

Because T is in even more trouble?

LBD said...

What troubles? the fabricated scandals? Clinton screwed up with a intern under the desk in the oval office then yes but John Edwards charges where dropped for campaign contribution scandal to his mistress and child. T's job job as President is going well IMO.

Firemane said...

Um ... your memory of the John Edwards results are in error:

On June 3, 2011, Edwards was indicted by a North Carolina grand jury on six felony charges. Edwards faced a maximum sentence of thirty years in prison and a $1.5 million fine, or a USD250,000 fine and/or five years imprisonment per charge.[116] The indictment came after the failure of intensive negotiations for a plea bargain agreement. The agreement would have meant that Edwards would have been required to plead guilty to three misdemeanor campaign finance law violations, in addition to a six-month prison sentence, but would have allowed Edwards to keep his law license.[117]

After delays, due to John Edwards' medical condition, jury selection for the trial began on April 12, 2012. Opening arguments began on April 23, 2012.[118] A verdict (not guilty on one count and a mistrial on the remaining five) to the trial was reached on May 31, 2012.[119]

So, no. The charges were not "dropped".

Lawyerliz said...

Pence kept money for personal expenses out of campaign donations. While not illegal at the time, it as unsavory.

Lawyerliz said...

Lonely, so lonely.

EngineerJim said...

Al Gore broke the law regarding campaign financing, but there was no controlling legal authority to prosecute it.

Firemane said...

He *WAS* prosecuted for it. Found not guilty on one count, and mis-trialed on 5 counts. How can you possibly not have a "controlling legal authority" when he was, in fact, tried?

I know he was tried, because I live in NC, and had to listen to the endless blathering of local talking heads for a month.

EngineerJim said...

I was talking about Al Gore, not John Edwards.

LBD said...

Regardless of inaccuracies none went to jail or were removed from office. Which brings us to the point of all the noise, nothing will be done but waste time and money. IMO.

Lawyerliz said...

Gillum won over Graham for Dem candidate. The black turnout must have been huge. He had a nice commercial, but I didn't think he had a chance against Bob Graham's daughter.

News from the right coast.

Are the Cali fires still burning?

Lawyerliz said...

The guy who wrote the letter--is he conservative? Was the letter true, that he knew years ago? In days of long yore they killed unsatisfactory popes.
Nobody much has been joining up for a long. This will make it worse.

Lawyerliz said...

In good news, a lot of black people are showing up and a lot of black people are winning primaries.

LBD said...

Good Morning!

Today the market tops out and a correction begins?

Dicks Sporting goods had poor sales numbers along with Underarmour maybe gun sales would have propped them up? =:0

Firemane said...

Coincidentally, I made a purchase at Dick's Sporting Goods on Saturday - soccer shin guards. I only needed new sleeves, but they were out of large sleeves and the sleeves cost $12 and shin guards including sleeves only cost $15. As luck would have it, one of the people I work with needed shin guards, but managed to borrow some soccer socks that negated the need for sleeves.

I'm just happy the residual soreness after playing only took about 60 hours to fade ... just in time for my bowling final tonight, (we'll be rolling off for 9th or 10th ... in a 10 team league).

Lawyerliz said...

Contractors installing grout in master bath. Possible that the bathroom will be useable by the middle of next week.

Lawyerliz said...

Black people voting in Florida!

LBD said...

Are they voting wisely or Racist?

Lawyerliz said...

Wisely, I think. Black people coming for black people is racist looking automatically?
Me, I think it's a sign that the forces of He Who shall not Be Named are more likely to triumph.

Lawyerliz said...

Voting for. . .
.

LBD said...

If it was a white person it is racist. As a voting block the blacks went for Obama mostly for being black. Can't blame them McCain was as throw away due to the financial bust, Then there was Hillary. My concern is what is happening in South Africa. The current pressure of racism like White advantage stirs hate with possible bad results. Hopefully they are thinking freely. IMO.

Lawyerliz said...

Then on to the next bathroom. And the new boards and painting on the outside.
And rehanging the pictures and figuring out where to put bathroom stuff.

Lawyerliz said...

Less likely. OMG how could I say that?

Lawyerliz said...

Kirk Douglas is 101! Wow.

Lawyerliz said...

There is a pic with his great grandchild

Lawyerliz said...

T sez violence will errupt.

LBD said...

T may be right, lot of hate building.

Lawyerliz said...

Son didn't know who he was.

Firemane said...

Self-fulfilling prophecy.

The most rabid of those on the left believe Trump is intentionally attempting to foment violence.

I have long been of the opinion he's simply too dumb to understand that what a President says - *ANY* President -- has innate power to influence action. I applauded "W" after 9/11 for his speeches designed to calm a nation and mitigate violence against Muslims.

This is one of the reasons Presidents have to be very circumspect in the way they speak of bad things. And, in fact, Trump is a consummate cheer leader, which is one of his plusses as President he doesn't get credit for. But, his penchant for hyperbole does him no favors when discussing anything that isn't an obvious positive.

Lawyerliz said...

I guess I'm rabid, although I concede he may be too stupid to know what the effects of what he says.

LBD said...

He is way smarter then O or Bush and Clinton. His style is crude but smart as a fox. He was not my choice from the start and am amazed he won. IMO

Lawyerliz said...

A ups package was not delivered because of a bear in the driveway. I love Floruda. Home of the weird.

LBD said...

Bear came down out of the mountains? ;)

Lawyerliz said...

Yeah, the Florida Alps.

Lawyerliz said...

McCain's mother is still alive at 106.

Firemane said...

And in completely irrelevant news ...

I rolled a 195 - 170 - 244 series to end my bowling season.
The 609 series was my best in years.

The 244 is a new personal best as a lefty, and exactly ties my personal best as a righty.

I suspect that puts me in very rare company - of people who have thrown a 244 with each hand.

LBD said...

Good Morning!

Great series Firemane. I can only dream of such an accomplishment. My average is starting a 128 this year. LOL! Lane condition where very oily.

Lawyerliz said...

Wow. Could you be a pro?

Lawyerliz said...

I haven't been bowling for years.
Baltimore has ducklings, dont think this is true elsewhere. Lower scores

Firemane said...

LBD/Liz,

I entered the night with a 153 average.
I needed a 499 to end with a 154 average, (that was my goal).

Before I blew out my knee and switched hands, I had gotten my RH average up to as high as 174, but consistently in the upper 160s.

Lefty, I've never quite gotten that kind of consistency. I've squeaked out a 160 average once, but worked my way up from 120 average to the 150s as a lefty over the past decade.

After my average on this summer league dropped to 147, I began experimenting, trying different lines in search of a strike ball. I had major problems with every line I tried would leave the 7 pin on good pocket hits. (And I have so much hook as a lefty, the 7 pin is a nightmare for me).

We were bowling for last place, so no pressure, so I tried a new extreme outside line (1st arrow), and was finally getting consistent strikes on pocket hits.

No telling if I can repeat going forward, but fall league starts next week.

Lawyerliz said...

Haha duckpins.

LBD said...

I can make any piece of sporting equipment look bad. :)

Firemane said...

LOL, LBD,

When I joined my company soccer team, I explained my background starting with: "I have no measurable athletic talent whatsoever. But, I'm smart ..."

Other descriptions I use when describing myself:

I'm in shape. Round is a shape.
In the 40 yard dash, they time me with a calendar.
I move with all the fluid grace of a pregnant rhinoceros.
My field vision is excellent - mostly because I can't see ME on the field.

Rob Dawg said...

I golf righty because the the clubs are cheaper.

Okay, never mind.

Duckpins are fun!

"Big ball bowlin" I too swing cross near the 1st arrow. When it works; it is devastating. Off by a bit and disaster.
