Akubi Is Right

Why be all serious all the time? If you can't find something pleasant to think about today you'll be arrested by this nice officer and MADE to think of something pleasant.

Careful Wagga, you could get arrested for thinking those thoughts.

SO what do I have to do now, right this second, to be arrested by this lady in uniform? Also, does she require a pole to be provided during the arrest or has she got her own?

Yum. I'd like to be arrested for imursenating an officer.

Nice fishnets! Of course I'm always right. Avocado and sushi simply do not mix.

Avocados? Those aren't avocados, those are melons or at least grapefruits.

Man is it nasty here. Grit, sand, dust, ash, smoke. More losses to report. a dozen avocados have fallen and a glass panel on the green house has pooped out. I think one of the cats is having either and asthma or anxiety attack. The other cat is a miserable nudge needing special attention. I know this because if I don't give him ear scratching he sits on the keyboard. All 18 lbs.

Yeah, she never shows you the REALLY dirty pictures of herself and Dick Cheney nude on a bed covered with her Halliburton stock certificates.

I'll bet she's even voted fer Dubya...3 times!

More damage. The trampoline just blew into the bushes, the cover blew back on the hot tub and dust got in and one of the new citrus trees has been mostly stripped of leaves by gusts. And I'm afraid the lawn is a total loss, it "cruches" when you walk on it. A special Lifestyle and Garden fund needs to be established. Seriously, there's like 50 homes in Arrowhead on fire, dozens burned in Malibu, many hundreds threatened in Canyon Country and I'm bitching about limes for my gin and tonics.

Look carefully for news about "Piru." This is a silent fire and at 29,000 acres it is big and headed for that city. It's also what is blowing straight at me at the moment.

All I want to know is, why isn't Bush putting the fires out? Why did Bush allow these fires to start? He blew up the levees in New Orleans to break up the powerful African-American voting bloc there (per Spike Lee). Is Bush trying to break up the Hollywood voting bloc with these tragic fires? I smell conspiracy in that smoke.

FEMA is needs to get busy with $2000 IKEA gift cards.

@Bilgeman,
That is an absolutely horrible thought. Where's the mind bleach?

Stay safe Robert!!

We are starting to see the smoke over here, hopefully it will not pollute our already crappy like this summers Santa Barbara fire (zacca).

@ Bilgeman:

Those were Countrywide stock certificates. They're not good for much other than lining beds and lighting cigars any more. It's an understandable mistake -- the certs aren't very readable in the pictures. I'm more disturbed, and frankly offended, that you mistook me for Dick Cheney.

Thanks, but I will only feel safer when David and Casey are taking turns hiding the sausage in Folsom.

For all you gutter brains wallowing with me in fleshpot distractions it think you are refering to http://moneyshotblog.blogspot.com/ for the purient bits with chicks and Dick Cheney (NC-17+ site).

I'm not feeling the love here people. Give it up for the Dawg. I had to go out and get more beer just to keep the grit out of my mouth. While out I saw the Edison crew preparing to cut my electricity for possibly a long time. Then I'll have to switch to generator.

I make light of the troubles but honestly I ain't gonna burn; I recontoured my lower levels for fire safety and replaced my roof with double heavy material and prepositioned emergency equipment.

I don't have an I/O NegAm 2/1 ARM either. You just don't do some things. Living on a canyon next to open space in a fire zone and eqarthquake zone without being able to take care of your family is one of those things. OMG, I'm almost a Mormon!

What is the deal with fishnets anyways? When I put on a pair with my brand new Dorothy costume from Spencers last Halloween, my husband decided he didn't want to go out for the night.

Damn kids kept ringing the bell. We put the bowl of candy outside for them, but they still rang.

Sorry Rob, I didn't realize you were directly affected by the fire. I hope you and yours will be okay.

Q: If you are wise enough to take precautions why don't those rich ass celebrities build fireproof mansions?

There's no such thing. Everything burns if you get it hot enough -- if not the building itself, then its contents. Look at the fires that have swept various brick-built downtowns such as Chicago, Seattle, and San Francisco.

The most effective thing people can do is clear a large buffer around the house, but that only works if you can afford the land. Building the entire house out of brick, stone, and/or steel -- ESPECIALLY the roof -- would also help, but that has its own drawbacks including cost and summer heat issues.

okay ogg, point taken. "Proof" was probably not the best word, let's try "resistant". pine 2x4, stucco, asphalt shingles, there are a ton of no nos. And why doesn't the fire department cut fire breaks & such along the roads and housing additions during down times? Perhaps it isn't as glamorous as riding along in a helicopter?

Oh, and I watched that "castle" burn. If you can't build a fireproof castle, you really have your head up your ass. What did they use, commercial built-up construction for the roof or something? LMAO!!

Feel the love?! Dawg I've had to put up with 9/11, a plane that crashed into a quiet neighborhood, two major blackouts, two cab strikes, a transit strike at the height of the holidays, cops searching bags randomly on the subway and trying to find parking in Brooklyn 5 times a week. I hope you and your family stay safe and that your home remains unharmed, but if you want sympathy, make yourself a fresh avocado salad and remind yourself that you have to make sacrifices for your lifestyle.

Have you read this about Casey and his fraud?

Casey Still Not In Jail

Rob Dawg said...

Casey and Crisp are going to jail. There's the moral hazard to consider. Were they to avoid a little "quiet time for reflection" the message will be sent that these are acceptable white collar crimes.

Centipede said...

I believe our astral machine guns are wasted on Casey. He is simply entertainment - nothing more, nothing less. In the big picture he is nothing.

I will leave my accidental double posts as they are unless the astute administrator of this blog chooses to delete one of them.

Oh, has anyone noted that these new staph infections (MRST) sound like Murst? For the safety of all commenters, perhaps we should avoid murst and murses entirely. Serious biohazard issues at hand.

Well, I'm glad you're okay, Rob. Thanks for the posting. It is only civilized to let us know who and what we don't have to worry about.

We have to leave a few brain cells clear to watch the bank maneuverings, otherwise we'll find ourselves left in nothing but our skivvies by the time the fires wind down. Containment on some of those is projected for the end of October - that gives them enough time.

I hope the cats survive; animals do get nervous at times like that. Got nearly burned out once this last year, so I'm having flashbacks myself. Spent a few more nights getting up every few hours to check to see if we still had a few hours grace. It's not fun.

I'm with the Bilgeman - wet it down.

MRSA (not MRST) isn't uncommon. About 20% or so of deaths in hospitals* (in my state) have it. It's not even necessarly the cause of death in a lot of cases, but it was (and probably still is) a ruleout for my former line of work.

OT: I didn't even start reading this blog until Snowflake cut off his blog. Pity, because, whenever I had a bad day, I knew somewere to go where the idiot blogging had a worse day than I did :) .

Keep it up Rob, and I hope that you and your family are safe.

*I used to work in the Organ/Tissue procurment area. MRSA in a hospital (which are required to call in deaths that occured at a hospital) isn't an uncommon thing.

There are murses and there are nurses: http://images.buycostumes.com/mgen/merchandiser/19938.jpg (in fishnets of course).

In one of those wierd coincidences I was on the phone with my mom (not maxed) who was telling me about her friend who died last month of MRSa. Just as I was reading the blog comments. Creepy.

MOM, I'm thinking the new FAS 179 coming Nov 15th has got the IBs running scared. Sure "volluntary" but the confidence issue after the M-LEC disaster in the making....

Seriously, all. We aren't going to be affected, just miserable and the damage. The freaking trampoline blew across the yard. That's like 300lbs. I'll post some pics later after the littlest one finishes her homework.

Dawg,
nurses link doesn't work, but what's up with the moose?
