Bill Gates Cripples His Kids

Report: Bill Gates Won't Let His Kids Have iPods

Wednesday, March 04, 2009
You'd think the children of the world's richest man could get anything they wanted.

But Bill Gates' kids aren't allowed to have any Apple products, the Microsoft founder's wife tells Vogue magazine.

"There are very few things that are on the banned list in our household," Melinda Gates, a Microsoft millionaire in her own right, tells interviewer Michael Specter. "But iPods and iPhones are two things we don't get for our kids."

What more can I add?

The Zune may be a tragedy but it will not hinder these children's development.

New Sony walkman 2Gb with video $40. Up incrementally from there as GB rise.

IPod or Zune starts at $150

He wants his children to actually pay attention to the world around them rather than be ensconsed in their private world of endlessly looped tracks from no-name indie rock bands? Sounds like a solid dose of common sense to me.

Why, the next thing you'll hear is that he cruelly represses his children by not allowing them to have televisions in their rooms, or requires them to do chores around the house. Horrors!

PV - No such intelectual motive - Same article goes on to say they are allowed Zunes and cell phones, just not iPod and iPhones.

Billy boy can't be seen using the competitor's products. There was hell to pay a few years back when it came out his developers had loaded Linux.

Somehow I do not think they dust all 14,000 square feet.

As a counterpoint to the disgusting imagery above, Luba wishes you a happy hump day!
