California Defies Interstate Commerce Clause

No preference shall be given by any regulation of commerce or revenue to the ports of one state over those of another: nor shall vessels bound to, or from, one state, be obliged to enter, clear or pay duties in another.

Despite this clear prohibition California since Jan 1st has required that you buy your ammunition in-state.

The clash US v CA is coming.

So are European countries with the overload of immigrants. Kali may fall into the ocean sooner then we thought. Can't wait to see who gets screwed on their retirement.

My kids are cuter, though older. Is there something different about CaIi ammo? ID able or something?

Here they are Christmas morning checking out their stockings by rthe fireplace stuffed with chocolates and hollow points.

California mandates ammunition purchases be as onerous as gun purchases. If you buy out of state you can elect to have it shipped to an authorized ammunition dealer where you can pick it up. Insane overreach.

Lawyerliz said...

Repulsive picture. Sorry Jim. Is 101 open? Curious Floridian. Pleasantly cool here. Some tender plants hurt🌸🌹🌹🌹 roses like cold.

>>>Repulsive picture. Sorry Jim.

You're right, it looks like a gun on the right is pointing at her sister's head. You should never point a gun at another person!

Rob Dawg said...

The 101 is 'expected' to reopen Monday. Incredible effort.

Found some concealed heirloom tomatoes in the garden. Tasty little orange "cherry" tomatoes.

Currently infusing my homemade gin. This is going to be good stuff.

The next post will address Section 10 of the Commerce Clause and further CA abuses.

Rob Dawg said...

About the post picture. I would never do that. I'd have zip ties through the chambers/barrels. Same effect but also clear evidence I am a good parent.

LBD said...

So what are they doing about other weapons like rental trucks and pressure cookers? All they are doing is making responsible people criminals. Here hold my joint while I reload my shot gun shells. =:0

Lawyerliz said...

Our pressure cooker exploded over the ceiling once when I was a kid. Real mess.
Don't run with scissors

Is the government shutting down? I'm afraid to look.
What if we shut the government down and nothing happened?
. . .and Cali seceded and nobody noticed?
. . . And Mexico invaded and declared victory?
. . . And everyone left D.C. for more congenial climes like Canada?
. . . . . . . .for Cuba?

Somebody stop me.

Unless of course you plan to pull the trigger

There's another hill about to fall down . In Oregon or Wash, I forget.

Lawyerliz said...

Hills are bad.

Lawyerliz said...

My handle? Where'd it go?

Rob Dawg said...

In Dawgifornia a shutdown leaves the doors and gates to parks and museums wide open.

LBD said...

Of course non essential government workers will get back pay for their unscheduled vacation.

EngineerJim said...

Yep, it's just days off with pay (eventually) for government workers.
More waste by the government.
Course when you add it to the monumental waste, fraud, and abuse by the government, does it really matter?

Lawyerliz said...

Yep, the hub got his back for doing nothing last time round. Not fun because we were worried the whole time.

Lawyerliz said...

the work didn't go away.

Unknown said...

Purchasing ammo in California requires a 10 day wait and an FBI background check identical to those required when buying a firearm.
The FBI is not amused.

LBD said...

Good Morning!

I am sure for some the work didn't go away. For many it was biz as usual.

Does Kali think more bubble wrap is part of a cure or riot control. Looking at the homeless videos looks like trouble coming. IMO

Rob Dawg said...

Will the tribes sell ammo next to the fireworks?

Rob Dawg said...

Good morning all. I awoke to discover the electricity still on and the street lights working. Guard’s are still stationed at the gate to the navy bases and airplanes are not falling from the sky.

Rob Dawg said...

We prefill a dozen forms each and thousands of us buy a small amount from all the authorized local dealers all on the same day. Think we can flood the system?

LBD said...

Wouldn't it just be easier to buy from the Black Market?

Lawyerliz said...

Here, it's ciggies and casinos.

Lawyerliz said...

Saw Post. Would still prefer Nixon, bad as he was. I had no fear he would blow up the world.0

Lawyerliz said...

Well, are we shut done? Noticed mothing.

LBD said...

I don't think we really are till Monday. Maybe they grow up and pass a temporary budget. Both blaming each other but I blame the Dems. DACA comprise for me would be turning in the parents and deported then they can apply for a green card but no amnesty.

Cinco-X said...

Moths are all dead here...

Lawyerliz said...

Curious. Is all the fighting reducing the number of illegal Mexicans coming Here?
And, how do I get back to being lawyerliz again?

Lawyerliz said...

They freeze? Some of my plants are doing very poorly. Through one froze, but they might wake up again.
Son works for VA but says they have an Extra year of funding.

Lawyerliz said...

Referring to pythons. Some froze .

Lawyerliz said...

Pew; the number of illegal Mexicans in the country has decreased. Asia's has gone up. Kick out Asians too?

LBD said...

Good Morning!

So if the amount of southern illegals has gone down then that proves the lies from the previous administrations.

Mexican is a blanket term for all our neighbors south of the border so it's not a racial thing. If you have a leaking boat you plug the biggest hole first. This group has been by far the biggest offenders.

Yes all illegals need to be deported and the cost of the Buy a Green card rule needs to be upped and show a contribution besides money, Doctor, Engineer, even jobs like auto mechanics if a real shortage can be proven, etc. Quit importing poverty and criminals. IMO

Lawyerliz said...

The hub and I both have very rich and poor ancestors. Have it your way,and we wouldn't exist.

Lawyerliz said...

Where is everybody?

LBD said...

Hiding?

To controversial I assume. Never said we would not have a legal immigrant program that covers all classes but it has been way out of control for decades. In as far as being an immigrant here my family were some of the first to come here, before the revolutionary war. I call us a Charter member and no we never owned slaves. Parts of the family tree came through Ellis island. Researched by my sister from records before Ancestry.com became available. It does confirm it with new information from the genetics test what little our families handed down was correct. All of my ancestors where pretty much poor.

Lawyerliz said...

My greatgrand and grand dad came just beforr the 1900th century. My gg grand was in the civi w as t and his mom was here, so that's 6 generations. Father no idea.

Lawyerliz said...

My gg grand was in the Civil war, and his mom was here, 6 generations. Her hub was from a wealthy family and hated her

Lawyerliz said...

Hud's mom from western md. Dad's familu was French and German. Some of them very rich. His immediate family poor. Here many generations. Ordered genetics test with our spit

Lawyerliz said...

Hubs rich branch owned slaves, sugar plantation in the Islands.

LBD said...

I personally don't much care how I got here but where my family goes from here is is very important. Controlled immigration is my goal. Until we help those truly trapped homeless on the street, then can we justify immigration on any level. Putting America first is about helping Americans first. Dems fight for DACA is at the wrong time and really puts illegals before Americans. I am so disgusted to watch videos of any city in America and the homeless mess and the magnitude. No signs of even a dumpster and the human mess that goes with it.

sm_landlord said...

Is there any reason that people don't just buy ammo in Oregon or Nevada?

Looks like it's going to get cold here again tonight - 43° predicted. So we might get a tiny bit of dew, since it pretty dry. No rain in sight.

TJandTheBear said...

Perhaps because (like me) they won't come back. ;-)

Lawyerliz said...

Wake up everybody. It's shutdown day!

Lawyerliz said...

Long drive?

Lawyerliz said...

Travellers are are avoiding coming here losing as 40k jobs. I guess we are not civilized enough because of you know whoooo.

Cinco-X said...

Seems like just about any other day to me

Lawyerliz said...

So, far, me to. About to go out, we'll see about traffic.

LBD said...

Good Morning!

Day starting out with a 2 hour power outage 6'snow drifts and I can't drive the skid steer yet. Wife has some guy struggling with a yard tractor and blower trying to clear the drive. Even with chains the blower is front heavy and spins the rear wheels. I hate this feeling of dependence but as luck goes all I can do is watch.

Town shut down for snow removal so no sign of the FED shut down.

LBD said...

Looks like the stock market is not impressed with the shut down. To the Moon!

https://www.wsj.com/articles/whats-a-house-worth-wall-street-turns-to-drive-by-appraisals-1516536001

It turns out that the Blackstone's SFH investments (Invitation Homes, etc.) were based on BPOs, not real appraisals. In some cases, the appraisals were done by outsourcing companies in India, who relied upon Google Earth and real estate web sites (Zillow, perhaps?) for their information.

Just Lovely.

sm_landlord said...

Oh, 45° and dry this morning. And Highway 101 is open.

Lawyerliz said...

Well the gov is back open. Yawn. What would the founders do if they could come to reward in time and see this?
A Republic, Madam, if you can keep it.

Lawyerliz said...

At the end of the Roman Republic, their Senate couldn't fun2tion any more.

Lawyerliz said...

History course-- all that land and the colonists still found a lot to fight about, amongst themselves.

All that land and the already rich wanted and got most of it. Including George Washington who was rich at that time, married to a rich wife.

Looking at used Rolls Royce's and amazed how many 80's &90's have around 20-40K on them. Cheap for a toy and I bet a network of used parts is established. I would rather have one of those then a new electronic box with wheels.

Lawyerliz said...

Got a facial. Ahhh
Men, be very jealous!!

Lawyerliz said...

Cat taking a sunbath in the living room now window. Cool enough for sapiens to wear a sweater.

Lawyerliz said...

Any body home?

LBD said...

Wow! moving some wet heavy drifts about 5'. Good thing the wind left about 6" on the main drive way.

I think the heart tune up is very successful. Feeling great even going slow so maybe bike riding this summer will be easier.

Maybe we didn't insult other posters enough? What do they want to talk about?

Lawyerliz said...

Hey, other posters, your mother wears combat boots.

Lawyerliz said...

We can discuss my roof and how it gets to be a part of the GDP?

Lawyerliz said...

And the instation of your stents-- how does the gov know?

Unknown said...

I believe in the right for a person to defend their life and property, but people are so careless with them that it gives me very conflicted feelings about it. We don't live in a society where everyone grows up with firearms anymore. The rural US absolutely has a need for firearms, even if it's just do defend yourself from wild hogs. I shake my head when I hear someone who has lived in a city their whole life say we shouldn't need to own firearms. I also have to laugh at the other side of the debate saying "a government should fear its people". They are bringing a gun to a drone fight. If the government wants to take you out, they can do it from their cubicle.

LBD said...

Medicare paid for my stents. Record sharing amongst doctors and hospital. I personally have no problem as I am at the last part of life's cycle. That being said the new world is very scary and people should protect themselves as best as they can.

Guns are a two way street as RubyG stated but there are other methods even deadlier to kill people. Pick your poison. I believe in Teachers carrying if trained and active police on campus. Problem is the lack of parenting, either none or bubble wrap. No commonsense any more along with proper discipline.

LL did you get a roofer?

Unknown said...

I can agree with the theory that teachers should be allowed to protect their classrooms, but in practice I don't think I can wrap my head around it. I've known too many teachers that use "password" as their password to believe that they should be trusted to use proper care for a firearm.

LBD said...

I think there would be a lot of teachers find other employment. Training would include a mental evaluation of capability. I wish none of this was necessary but when things get out of control strong measures are required. Discipline should start with a dress code and maybe uniforms. When you have discipline then people will have more respect for each other.

Lawyerliz said...

Yes,yes. Yes. They will start dumping materials in our front yard shortly.
Yay!

Lawyerliz said...

Yep, yep.

Lawyerliz said...

We had uniforms in Catholic school, which were extremely ugly.
So what? Maybe the teacher should wear uniforms too, that make them look ferocious

Cinco-X said...

The one Brittany Spears wore was kinda cute

LBD said...

We wore uniforms in the car repair biz, not just for the dirt but for identification. When I worked in the shop I wore one and when I worked at the service desk I didn't. I didn't feel like I was at work when I didn't. Part of learning to work and be employable.

Lawyerliz said...

My high school uniform, oh, my. White dress panty hose and black and white saddle shoes

Lawyerliz said...

And a white plastic belt. Supposed to be mid calf skirt, in the miniskirt era. Girls would pull the skirt over the belt. Or wear the belt too tight. Nun said we looked like 2 sausages

Lawyerliz said...

This was replaced by ugly plaid skirts and white blouses.

LBD said...

My HS class was the last to have a dress code. No uniforms but I remember shirts had to have collars no T-Shirts, Large Logo's, belts a must, no sweats. Girls had similar but no pants, and skirts had a limit as to how nigh above the knee. I really think it has a lot to do with cutting down on distractions. They would have gone insane over hair cuts and colors like purple like they do today.

Lawyerliz said...

A kind of birth control.

Lawyerliz said...

Uniforms ok, but not so insanely ugly. My grade school uniform was blue dresses like little Orphan Annie would have worn

Lawyerliz said...

Good morning all. We are all still here.

LBD said...

Good Morning!

Looks like a few days of 40-50F. Yes we are still here and I suspect we will be for a while.

Oil prices are up helps American producers expense and Mr. Market continues to play games.

LBD said...

I see the grocery store quit selling Russian Dressing. LOL!

Lawyerliz said...

What kind of welcome will Trump receive?

LBD said...

Warm at best. I don't want a leader who makes the world happy. That seems to be a sign of selling out to me.
