I hope we don't have more news about Florida man. Many early votes.

Had my "annual" physical today. I continue to amaze my doctors.

Despite the "unhealthiest" diet on the planet - and carrying about 50 pounds more than I should -- I have nothing wrong with me (other than a minor wrist sprain, which I got playing goalie on the company soccer team).

Well - according to their numbers, my vitamin D level is low, so I've added a daily vitamin D supplement to the daily multivitamin I've been taking for decades.

Despite a diet that is almost pure meat and potatoes (I'm hypersensitive to taste - so I don't eat vegetables - and other than applesauce, my only fruit intake is Splash fruit juice (cut 50% with water).

But, my cholesterol is fine - my BP runs low (always has), my EKG is fine. I bowl weekly, and I've started playing tennis weekly with my ex-girlfriend.

Yeah everyone is different and doctors want to do cookbook medicine. Potatoes are very good for you.

Looks like nothing bad or awful happened today.

Good nite.

Something bad or awful happens every day, you just don't hear about it unless it's considered newsworthy, especially if it supports the reporter's particular political viewpoint.

Good Morning!

News entertainment and opinion. Sifting through the noise to get the real news. Now the game of connecting Whitey Bulger to Former FBI Muller. Strange how fast he was killed and that leaves the door open to more!

I forgot about this song. How about the Merry Minuet. Even the topical stuff is fresh.
They're rioting in Africa, There's strife in Iran, ending
What nature doesn't do to us,
Will be done by our fellow man.

I do think it was the mob.
They showed a bust he made to break out. Made With few materials, it was excellent. He could've been an artist. His brother was something distinguished.0

Latest poll aggregates (538 and RCP) all point to the same conclusions.

1) GOP holds the Senate, possibly picking up a net 1 or 2 seats.
2) Dems take the house with between 220-240 seats. (My current system has the final tally at 232 - 203)
3) Dems pick up a few governorships.

Pretty much everyone is working much harder to remind people that polling has a "margin of error" - which means there's a wide range of "possible" results, and the "projected" is simply the middle of that range.

Of course, part of the 2016 problem was they were using 2012 turnout models, which ultimately under-projected white non-college turnout, and over-projected black turnout.

The pollsters will adjust their models to take into account 2016 results in some way - but no way to see how well they did until after the fact.

They could potentially undershoot the "Trump" voters (who didn't exist in 2012), resulting in under-projecting the (R) turnout, and resulting in a major Democratic disappointment. Or ... perhaps the "Trump" voters don't come out (since Trump isn't on the ballot himself), and the adjustments for 2016 could be over-stating Republican turnout in this cycle - and we get a blue Tsunami larger than anyone is projecting.

The most obvious difference this time around is I haven't seen any claims of 98% certainty about the outcome that were common with Hillary.

There was a CNN poll that the hub reported that T and the Repubs were getting more popular. I certainly hope not.

Lawyerliz said...

I'm still waiting for the October surprise. Guess not.

Lawyerliz said...

I'd be surprised if the Dems won the Senate. OMG what if it was 50 50?

If T can stop the illegal birth rights I am all for it. The Dems and Repubs have screwed us far long enough. I love that he is going to try and shut the boarders down with the coming invasion. Pretty clear most are not coming legally to become Americans and do not need political asylum. If he is successful then I don't care who controls what they are all lazy and close to un American as they can get. IMO

Lawyerliz said...

It isn't illegal and they aren't lazy. I would sleep under bridge before I'd do stoop labor.
Actually it was the Chinese who ruined this for every body else. Having a baby here with backstop citizenship. I don't blame them for the effort.

And those troops can't do much of anything. They can assist border people whose job is a border job. I don't think the law allows then to do military stuff. Check it out. Something called posse comitas.

Lawyerliz said...

Where is everyone. Trick or treating?

Good Night.

LBD said...

I did stoop labor so I know it's not fun. I did a hell of a lot of hard labor and still do. It is an idea that fit the time but has been twisted in to insanity.

The troops can do a lot including intimidation. Chinese, Russians, the whole dam world does it so it needs to be stopped. IMO.

Now it's time to sneak some candy. BOO!

LBD said...

Good Morning!

To much candy and scary stuff. :)

As soon as I heard about the train of asylum seekers and the insane size of it, I knew Trump would send the military to the border. I'm seeing flashbacks of all the military actions against civil rights protesters in the 60's. How many people are going to get shot?

Lawyerliz said...

The aren't supposed to shoot. Hah!

LBD said...

They where not suppose to shoot at Kent State but humans can take so much till they fear for their lives. I blame any incident on the invaders at this point.

I see no comparison to the civil rights movement as that was an internal struggle that needed settled. Sadly it took lives but it ended in the right direction. IMO.

Unknown said...

The comparison, the army is being deployed to keep the peace against civilians.

Rob Dawg said...

People crossing international borders contrary to international law are not "civilians."

LBD said...

National guard is part of the Army and armed.

Lawyerliz said...

It isn't the National guard.
