The Greenest Greens You've Ever Seen...

In Seattle.

SoCal is so weird you tend to forget there are normal places. I'll report what I find as we toddle around the region. So far it looks like a nice place.

The Space Needle...? How phallic. ;-)

And regarding the FBI's mortgage fraud sting, I've escaped prosecution yet again! It was a close call. Fortunately, Mommy will always let me hide under her skirt to avoid my having to face the real world. Sweet!!

That's "Some Success" right there in avoiding prosecution, Casey!

Gimmee a big NRU $22,000 high-five, mate!

also, be sure to visit Ezells chicken , if you like fried chicken, that is. it'll be the best you've ever had. I recommend the spicy chicken at the skyway location.

Having featured my Awareness of All Internet Traditions™, I'd sure like to ask why Casey wasn't included in Op Malicious Mortgage. Given all of the documentation on Caseypedia and such, it would seem the easiest case possible. I don't get it.

In complete seriousness, I think the operation was more targeted towards mortgage brokers, loan officers, and people within the real estate industry, who had aided and abetted hundreds of "borrowers" (read: fraudsters) like myself.

Let's hope they go after the individual borrowers next -- maybe not someone who fudged his income on a single application, but the sheer audacity of my schemes should really net me between 3 and 5 years in the hoosegow.

Keep hope alive! :-)

Casey,
Hate to break it to you, but I would say you fit the definition of a shotgun scheme borrower.

Need a new Internet Slogan now that all your other old, worn-out slogans were used up by Weezer or immigrants? Here is one for you, only a day old and still pretty much used up like Krusty’s porn: I am aware of all Internet Traditions. What the hell? We will tell you, and you’ll feel dumber for it.

Seattle normal? Okay, if you say so...

Edgar,
What is normal these days?

All I remember is bums, hookers, lots of XXX stores, somebody throwing fish, what I thought was a lot of coffee shops (but certainly less than we have now where I live) and my future wife getting grossed out at a woman pleasuring herself in the bathroom of the hostel.

W,
Those fish ate your Internet Tradition.

Dear Casey,
Perhaps you could finally achieve wealth and fame as a television show host?

How long are you up here? Lunch maybe? We can shoot the shit about house prices in San Diego or make up some rumors about Jim the Realtor.

Normal is little tweeting bird in tree which smells bad.

Staying in Renton, here thru Wed. Pure touristy stuff. ONt that note just visited the Sci-Fi Museum. Fascinating as Spock would say.

Seattle has lots of roads and in good repair. A real driver's paradise especially compared to transit loving car hostile Los Angeles.

If you like roads as much as JohnDiddler suggests, make sure you go back to Renton via 520 once (not during rush hour though). From the east side of Lake Washington to the Bellevue Way exit there is experimental asphalt on the road that drops the noise level about 15-20 db. Very impressive; worth the deviation off course from say Ballard (this makes sense below).

If you are doing touristy stuff I would suggest you visit Snoqualmie Falls. They are taller than Niagara Falls (but not nearly as wide in any sense). Very neat; lunch at the Salish Lodge there is good too; if you have 90 minutes, hike the trail to the bottom. It is one of the four touristy things worth seeing up here; the Falls, the Needle, Pike's Market, and the locks in Ballard.

I will be in downtown Seattle without the family from 6:30 - 8:30 pm on Monday if you are around for dinner before or drinks after. I might be going to Fry's (in Renton) with my neighbor on Tuesday night (he likes talking about mortgages, debt, housing, etc too); could meet up with you there (Renton that is; not necessarily at Fry's).

Rob Dawg said...

Keith, all good ideas. Thanks. I love Fry's and even though I live 4 miles from the Oxnard store I might go just to claim another location. Did the Market Thurs and needle/park/museums yesterday. Sunday is already the Falls including the cardiovascular workout hike. Normally, I'd almost jog, not think about something like that but less than 6 weeks out of heart surgery I'm a tad constrained. After the Falls we have a visit with friends in Isahquah who bailed on SoCal about 12 years ago and can't stop congratulating themselves. Home prices are IMO very high. I can see Boeing and Microsoft wealth influence at all levels but the region is fooling itself to think they won't eventually decline.
Roads, Washingtom State graciously provides 174,000 lane mils for its 6.4 million residents whilst California has a measly 380,000 for its 35 million. Any questions?

Sorry to waste blog space on this, but my neighbor and I are officially going to Fry's Tuesday night; probably after 7 pm. If easy enough to be there, email me at keith at rettig dot net. I can text message you when we are heading out; it is 30-40 minutes away from us.

On our way; 7:35 pm. Worn out gray Maui shirt & white wrist band.
