Fishnet Thursday

Stockings as allegory for the economy. Threadbare and worn but still holding together and full of interesting stuff.

You're welcome. Consider it a belated birthday present. Looks like your kittehs have been playing with her stockings.

Rob, did you notice the VC Star has an article about Solar World in Camarillo cutting their labor force? Seems business is fine but they are expanding into Oregon. At first you have to wonder why a liberal high tax state like Oregon? Seems that Oregon is getting all free market and offering tax incentives for green businesses. Does that mean that cutting taxes is good for jobs? Apparently not for those working in California.

Another interesting thing: the company is also cutting staff since they invested 30 million in equipment that is more efficient. Less labor is needed to produce their product. The point being that you better have a serious skill in this economy if you want to be secure. Like maybe machining the equipment these guys bought or learning how to maintain it.

I suppose it would be terribly off color adding to the allegory that certain areas are a bit fishy?

That one doesn't pass the sniff test. Bravo.
