I love it when I make some outrageous claim and then sit back quiet waiting for it to come true. Once again California is in financial trouble. No, new financial trouble. If you blinked you missed the part where our fearless leaders fixed the budget less than three weeks ago.
Ahh but that was before the February revenue numbers were totaled. As it is now we are $9 billion more revenues trailing expenditures. Imagine how bad it would be without the $31b guarantee from the Feds. What? What's that? The $31b isn't guaranteed? Details, details. One crisis at a time, take a number... a really big number.
At least enjoy Fishnet Friday. Like California the young lady appears to be trying to put too much into the container she has.

To stay with the fishnet theme and to quote the french: "Putain, quel gros thon!"
And FIRST of course.
It's Fishnet Friday and I'm in Economy Ignore Mode, but that is some pretty f-ing horrendous imagery.
The sad thing is when I compare porn preferences with the Safeway/Pizza/Whatever delivery guys, they think that is hot and my vast collection is full of boney freaks.
Since when did my aesthetic universe turn upside down?
Akira, agreed. I can only add that "slenderteens" is not a diet advice site.
Rob,
What's your take on the (dead cat?) bounce this week? How much of a bounce can we see, 10% more? Are we going to revisit the lows of the previous week?
That's about right. 7800? Then we go looking for 6500 by summer.
The 8-9 billion shortfall does not take into account state income taxes correct?
The 8-9b only projects forward Feb 08-Feb 09 ratios. That means they are expecting in April a huge chunk of cap gains money that isn't going to arrive. It won't.
Wait til they discover the hit to taxable income from selling all those tax free munis.
On a related note, Rob, California's Prop 1A is a fraud and a massive tax hike disguised as a spending limit. Please help spread the word to California voters.
All the Props on the May ballot are frauds. You are correct and my hope is to see them all die but with every state worker and teacher sure to vote that will be a tough order. These off cycle elections are designed to disenfranchise.
@Dawg
Why you think the MSM avoids exposing so much of the employee benefit perks in articles? In my line of work, I could contact newspapers in many municipalities, and if they chose to write details, the locals would have pitchforks and torches out. I'm not even working with core employee perks like medical coverage. Is it incompetence, not the right narrative, goes against Democrat core voters, incompetence?
TheMSM has gotten lazy. It is that simple. Sports, entertainment and politics are easy to "report." Thus they cater to sports stars, movie stars and politicians.
It is all so terribly tiresome these days.
Any Sian suggestions?
Floss.
Hey, is caseyhaterz down for you loosers™ too?
