No Really. Stay Away!

Any questions?  Need directions to get away?

But soberly.  864 events in the last week?  It has been quiet for a long time.  And for the record I drew those arcs.  they don't really exist. I hope.

I have no idea what this is.

Lawyerliz said...

Events are earthquakes.

Rob Dawg said...

Last seven days. The bigger the square the higher the magnitude. Yellow = last week,, blue = last day, red = last hour.

Lawyerliz said...

Hub sez why arcs instead of straight lines?

Rob Dawg said...

Tell Hubs, Great circle, Mercator or tell him the truth that I made it up.

Lawyerliz said...

So you pulled.a Trump on us?

Lawyerliz said...

Such for lunch. Good.

Rob Dawg said...

Well, I admitted my deception and I have yet to be proven correct so I have little in common with Trump.

Lawyerliz said...

Duck.

Lawyerliz said...

Hub sez, well said!

Cinco-X said...

Maybe hub could get an account... You guys could spend more QT together

Rob Dawg said...

Yeah. He can sneak in the clearances with old friends at orbital separation that owe him a favor and I can whip up a laugh vehilce.

Rob Dawg said...

I typed launch vehilce but left laugh vehilce untouched for the humor value.

Lawyerliz said...

Well he says the blogs are my thing and he doesn't want to horn in. He tried to run a blog,.but it was too much work. (I told.him so.) Now he is digging out the m dirt for our future magnificent front Pathway.

Has Mr Dawg done the hedge?
By the way the roofer gave a quote that was a couple thousand less than I expected. Hope the other stuff is reasonable too.

Rob Dawg said...

The hedge is on hold in deference to the neighbor who died last week.

Lawyerliz said...

Errrr, vehicle.

Lawyerliz said...

My condolences. Was he a friend?

Lawyerliz said...

Did I say I planted more marigolds?

Rob Dawg said...

Trumpigolds are becoming awesomely unbelievably terrifically popular.

Lawyerliz said...

We heard thunder, but the sun came out. Tats. I watered the back as a rain dance too.

LBD said...

What's shaken? Another day at the Chemo lounge done.

Rob Dawg said...

No, worst nightmare neighbor imaginable not that I wished him ill.

Rob Dawg said...

Been goin' wild with the new pole saw. Opening yuge vistas. Can't wait to take it to the hedge.

LBD said...

I'm going to do a pole saw for my skid steer later this summer, Really go high with no latter.

Rob Dawg said...

Yuge future consideration. You need a new roof. They say the roof will cost $10,000. The job will be $30,000. Why? $20k to remove the solar array. $10k for roof. $10k to reinstall the array. Wait. Why when the solar system only cost $20k to start? Because of breakage and liability.

Rob Dawg said...

Using a pole saw to turn a bull into a skid steer sounds a bit harsh.

LBD said...

Pole saw is a chain saw. :)

Rob Dawg said...

Pole saw is a chain saw with an eight foot handle. Leverage bay-bee.

LBD said...

But the Salesman said solar pays for it's self. Just change the roof shingles around the outside of the solar panels.

LBD said...

I have a pole saw with a saw blade and cutter as well. Back is out of commission and won't be using it, besides the skid steer is more fun and fast. You should see how fast and fun it is to pop out small stray trees.

Rob Dawg said...

Mrs Dawg is too smart to let me have a skid steer.

Lawyerliz said...

What is a skid steer?

Lawyerliz said...

It rained, a little bit.

Lawyerliz said...

Oh, it's a bulldozer.

Lawyerliz said...

You want your own bulldozer, hunh?

Lawyerliz said...

Where's Mike.

LBD said...

You see them on construction sites. Smaller the a bulldozer generally with with 4 wheels, some do have track drive. Very universal with attachments for almost anything. Hell of a toy to operate, scary fun when you push past the center of gravity and almost roll it. :)

Cinco-X said...

Yikes!!! Pole saws and ladders nearly did me in

Rob Dawg said...

Admit Lobbist. You want that attachment!

LBD said...

Nice but no. I make most of my stuff to match my needs. A single grapple would be nice when I place the boulders. Funny the pic has a new Mustang and I have an old 940 which I push past the rating limits.

Rob Dawg said...

We just had Taco Bell. I cannot remember the last time. Near $5 per person. A burrito that might have had a few shreds of processed cheese product on the table as it was prepared and smaller than a dollar bill.

Expensive, small portions, I see the writing on the wall. YUM! Brands is a short.

Makes me think hard about all freestanding fast food.

LBD said...

Don't worry you will get a more consistent, better product when they get rid of employees.

LBD said...

Did you ask for a senior discount? Ducks and runs. :)

Rob Dawg said...

I hope you aren't right about the runs part.

This was a travesty of so called food or value or taste.

Rob Dawg said...

1965 the ice cream truck shows up.
2025 the self driving ice cream dispenser vehicle shows up.

Rob Dawg said...

I didn't even ask for Liz's special decamillionaire cheapskate discount.

Had one of the earliest Case skid steers at our Colorado ranch in the 80's. [Dad worked for Case at the time.] With the rims turned inside it was exactly 3' wide. Great for cleaning out stalls & runs (and yes, goofing around).

sm_landlord said...

Channeling Andy Rooney:

Have you ever noticed that the restaurants which offer senior discounts are not the ones where you would prefer to eat?

Lawyerliz said...

Eat at Tcao Bell. Only with a gun to my head...McDonald's has decent coffee and edible egg mcmuffins.

Lawyerliz said...

Good Morning.😀 wakies wakies East coast.

Lawyerliz said...

It is dark and gloomy out. The little bit of rain we got yesterday made the grass somewhat green and we may get more. Hub Is digging for pathway. I will go plant a few more Marigolds. And maybe a rose. I wish slate would back to what it was doing before.

Rob, I think you will enjoy. Where is KP to send this link to?

Rob Dawg said...

This blog is a dozen years old. Believe it or not I already scanned that article and will be posting on it. Needless to say I've seen the exurban nation coming for a long time and have endured a lot of crap for being visionary. If Trump starts weaning the cities off operating subsidies expect the process to accelerate.

Rob Dawg said...

KP is on the HCN reddit blog.

dodahman said...

cool beans.

Liz,I couldn't find KP's post, but here's the link I think. If you or anyone finds it, please let me know where it is.

More Marigolds! The tortoise dug one up , which is on the "front porch" of the burrow. I replanted it. Too much temptation for a turtle. Gonna lant the lavender rose now, before it starts to rain. 80% chance.
The are restoring the parthenon. I hang no objection to resetting the drums and blocks that are lying aron as rubble, but they are filling in too. The tv show way chock full of mistakes, trying to make mysteries out of well known stuff. There were several interesting things about how they made it earthquake proof.
I think I object because they will result in a building which never did exist. Previous restorations made some things worse. We are prideful. The old Greeks were smarter than us.

Good Morning!

Getting back to normal 71F sunny!

Poorfolio sucks but Funds are doing great!

Lawyerliz said...

They. Have.

Lawyerliz said...

Googled it and there is a Calculated risk posTed with that title. And some others.

Lawyerliz said...

I am tempted to buy Home Depot. Always always busy. Not just mutual funds.

LBD said...

Saving here recovering the cash accounts from the wedding. :)

Rob Dawg said...

Just waiting for a solid down day to buy some GE I think. Used the pole saw to double my view. Plants making up for years of drought stagnation. Machete time for the anise plants.

Cinco-X said...

You don't like the taste of sawdust in your burrito?

Cinco-X said...

Even more of an ass now...

Cinco-X said...

Mornin' y'all

LBD said...

Burrito? Don't ask what's in the sausage.

Rob Dawg said...

The disappointing burrito was a metaphor for the retail low end food sector. I can heat a good pizza for $6 that beats the $12 pick up. A half pound hamburger in pita bread with veggies and no salt and no sugar is $2 and half the calories and twice the meat and twice the flavor. The fast food joints are going to get squeezed by rents and minimum wage increases and taxes. Don't even get me started on oversaturation meeting the perfect storm of changing consumer tastes.

Rob Dawg said...

Hey Cinco. Somebody was asking about KP on reddit. Recall his handle. Eynul something?

Lawyerliz said...

The taco boxes in the grocery store are ok. You add you own meat and lettuce and onions. Or beans.

Lawyerliz said...

I wish they would make whole wheat cinnamon raison.

Cinco-X said...

Like I said, a bigger ass than ever...

LBD said...

Greasy fried taco shells from a box? :(

Lawyerliz said...

I don't find them greasy.

Lawyerliz said...

Warning to folks, do not click on I hate Donald Trump it's a virus.

sm_landlord said...

Robert, is there a Topper's Pizza in your hood? If so, try the Carnitas Chiplote pizza - it's outstanding.

For those with subscriptions, here is the link to the Exurbs piece from the Bain guy at WSJ:

https://blogs.wsj.com/experts/2017/04/19/why-the-exurbs-are-poised-to-take-off-in-the-coming-years/

Glad to see that people are finally starting to figure this out.

Lawyerliz said...

I'M already in an exurb. Plenty of houses on acreage. Swamp a few blogs away. A lady with horses. At the end of a dead end is NASA Land. Actually, I'd like to live near Cocoa Village, where there's lots of action.

Lawyerliz said...

Hah blocks!!!

Lawyerliz said...

Dil is not in exurb but she's working from home for herformer employer in St Pete, Floridah.

LBD said...
