The first thing that bothered me about the ad was the idea that a 2010 vehicle would already have a service history.

Rob,

Happy birthday(Iknow it is late)!!!

Have you been following the higher end car market? The Mecum auction was pretty bad from what I saw on HD Theater. I am thinking of picking something up next year after I get a home...maybe.

Our freight levels still suck. I have not seen any more of a drop but it sure isn't growing...

I watch Mecum occasionally. Fun. I wish they went antique more often.

I never could believe the tulip bulb aspect of cars 1967-1986. Sure i understood the boomers and the car they loved in their youth bit but they were crap. Even the better ones are crap and because of production volume not even interesting crap.

I understnd NSXs going for premium. Cobras or California Specials. too. Even a Super Bee but a frame off resto of a fuggin' Nova? GMAFB.

Nice looking car, but I'm not shelling out $168k for one... even with the "amazing" $250 discount.

If I really feel the need for a mid-life crisis, I'll kick out sub $50k for a Lotus Elise. A friend has one, she lent it to me for a while... VERY fun to drive and (at that time) virtually unseen on US roads, so I got a LOT of looks.

5.2L V-10? Those are some little pistons! Must have a high redline due to short stroke as well. Looks nice though.

Funny you should post about my wife's two favorite cars (that she doesn't and hasn't had, of course).

I'm keeping an eye on used NSX-T's and will pick one up for her when the time is right. Love the R8's too, but have to wait until they come down from the stratosphere.

All,
take a look at this vintage 70's GTO commercial:

Too funny! It looks like a mechanical choke for the exhaust sound, but who knows?

The most expensive vehicles I've seen on Craigslist so far were a new Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe ($400-something-K) and more recently the new McLaren Benz advertised at about $480K or so.

Might be fun to pull a Casey -- get a lease on a high-end vehicle, sell it at a deep discount (w/o title of course) and then vanish...

Mr. Dawg,

LADWP hasn't had a functional coal fired power plant in Nevada since Mohave shut down at the end of 2005.

Anecdotally, CDWR owns a portion (90%?)of Reid Gardner Unit 4 in Moapa, Nevada, until 2013.

Just pointing it out since you posted elsewhere that LADWP has coal stockpiling at generators in Nevada. No they don't. And the Mohave plant didn't get coal by rail either.

Scum,
Thanks for the correction. I didn't know LADWP had shut down all Nevada generation. I'll re-eductate myself as to their current holdings.
