Whole Amazon Synergies

Re Amazon Whole Foods.  My first reaction was wrong.  This is great for Amazon. $15b is cheap for the analytics they will be collecting.  The only minus is paying $30m per physical location. Amazon will be able to integrate lots of Whole Foods SKUs into the Amazon space very quickly and profitably. Tea. Spices. Baking goods including tools.  Pastas. And every Amazon customer is exposed meaning more volume and economies of scale.  Of course the supply chain will be squoze dry and get the treatment Walmart gives their suppliers but you know, eggs and omlets.

Good Morning!

To the winner goes the spoils! Will it be USPS, UPS or FEDX they acquire next?

This is where some trust busting comes in. No Whole Foods anywhere close to me. Where is Teddy when you need him?

Bull mooses arise! You have nothing to loose but your access to good quality and service.

They better not go after Publix or Home Depot!!!

Rob Dawg said...

They will pick up the hollow infrastructure of Sears soon enough.

Rob Dawg said...

Maybe they will put a BofA in every Home Depot. [\ducks]

I expect the PTB will wait until it is a real problem (after they all profit for it) then they will protect the people from the monopoly.

It will be a great fight over the taxes as Amazon starts paying them. District squabbles will be epic.

To my horror, I see a full grow cup of sawgrass in the back which has grow 5 feet in the great rains. I hate Walmart and B of A. may saw grass grow over their Florida stores and Banks.

My most amusing zoning story, where the developer nearly killed himself working with the zoning peole. The development next door had bigger houses and lots so as suggested he made the houses and lots that backed up to the big lots, somewhat bigger, with somewhat bigger houses than then the rest of the subdivision. IadeY pitch, and they turned us down. So we were leaving looking very sad, shoulders droopping, when the cairn an lady says, Wait, what did we just do? I daid, you turned us down. She said we shouldn't do that, this is Good zoning. So they voted again, and voted in our favor. And we left all happy. Just shows how random it all is.

Lawyerliz said...

Lord. Made my pitch.

More zoning. People can testify. Arvida, was big in Miani, wanted a convenience sore and change of zoning from single family. Lady was testifying against the best zoning lawyer in Miami. She started off gentle and moderate, picked up steam, and ended loud and in tears She won. She should have gotten an Academy award.

Then there is the poop story (actually it was setic tanks.)

Autocorrect considered dangerous.

Finally made it to my special VM for posting on EN. RD, you asked some question on RHCN about email?????

Rob Dawg said...

I just left a few snide comments a week ago about Trader Joe's and another warning you about the dangers of allowing blood to build up in your alcohol caffeine circulatory system. Nothing important.

sm_landlord said...

Oh, yes.

I may have to introduce some Advil into my medication delivery system today due unaccustomed physical activity. Switching between desk work and lab work isn't as easy as it used to be....

Rob Dawg said...

The Trader Joe's comment was about people who left California. Never knew one who didn't convince themselves they didn't regret it. Back in the dark ages we would exchange hostages. We'd send Trader Joe's goodies to New England and they would send Birch Beer soda and Marshmallow Fluff. Now the world is smaller and they gave TJs.

Wakey wakey East Coasters! !.

On our way to Utah. We get cheap Hilton stays. Gambling sometimes. $20 of nickel slots or $20 of blackjack. Maybe. Good restaurants incl some awesome buffets. One where you could spend the entire time just eating delicious crepes entire through dessert and never go to the other 95% of the counter. We walk everywhere. A dozen miles is common. A lot that used to be free now charges but still the hotels have rotating displays and seasonal art/decoration. Then on to real adventure. We will skip the LV volcano show however as the real life extended Yellowstone swarm has be a tad concerned. Park City would be the edge of the total destruction zone.

Happy father's Day, all you Fathers out there!!!

Hey Mr. engineer, could we bleed off some of the heat, use it for energy and delay the date of destruction a few weeks, or until civilization Falls, so it doesn't matter?

Rob Dawg said...

I got beer ingredients! 🍺X60.

Rob Dawg said...

Geothermal power has some steep engineering challenges but yes we should be tapping the temperature differential for energy.
