Good Morning

Today's temp to be 104F.

Lake yesterday and pool today. :)

Volvo Claims they are going electric. Real truth they are incorporating electric to their line and not getting rid of piston motors completely on all models.

Was afraid my tomatoes were all for show then I checked:

Are bible laws are different for elitest?

LBD said...

Farmers market should have tomatoes soon and I don't have to work. ;)

Rob Dawg said...

Laws? More like guidelines. For full details and 10% off your first indulgence contact your nearest holy man.

I thought the Volvo announcement was clear and rational. They are the first major to announce the policy shift and that counts too.

Get ready for a major shift and increase in road taxes. Registration fees and per mile charges to start. Then full location and time based tolls eventually.

Rob Dawg said...

Pay? For tomatoes?!? You probably buy golf balls too. Just started my third bucket of #1s. I have collected a set of Titleist 0 thru 14 including the rare numbers.

Lawyerliz said...

Anyway, gluten morgan.

Lawyerliz said...

You swim in the golf course lakes?

Lawyerliz said...

I do not play golf. As part of my wifely duty, I watch tornaments on tv. And I drive along on Golf carts, which is nice. And I remember some of the players' names.

Rob Dawg said...

We walk the course we live on and just manage to collect strays. Mrs Dawgs personal record is 9. Me six. We rarely go after water balls even close to the edge.

Liz, sorry. no plant names. It was 108° and we were hopping from shade to shade and just hustling through. Truly an amazing garden. Bucket list for plant/garden lovers.

Red Butte Garden at the University of Utah.

Question. Are you enjoying the pictures? Should I get back to business/housing/econ?

LBD said...

No golf here, Hands and shoulders to worn out. Old Drag race joke, We play a game that takes two balls. :)

Everybody is jumping on the bandwagon for some electrics and I do approve of the current super charger electric assist. Piston engine will still be king for a long time. IMO.

Lobbyist Ben Dover, I see external combustion and Stirling cycle and other chemical to movement systems gaining acceptance.

Old rugby saying; "It takes leather balls..."

"Time based tolls eventually"

That would explain the increasing level of gridlock on the highways. Imagine...the longer you sit in traffic jams, the more state and federal revenue earned!

Lawyerliz said...

They aren't that smart. Roads do have to be built and paid for. Gas tax was theoretically fair, until they started to use it for other stuff

Lawyerliz said...

Yes and yes.

Lawyerliz said...

Cleaned the kitchen. The Roomba battery is wearing out. Can I get at sears. Guess I will check Amazon.

gas tax hasn't gone up since the 90s and the cars are twice as efficient. DOTs getting squeezed on both ends. Toll roads are the result of failing to keep funding up with demand. I am all for milage based taxes with a multiplier for vehicle weight.

Lawyerliz said...

Yes.

LBD said...

Any tax going to General Fund is open to theft for other interest and not dedicated to the reason for the tax originally. =:0

LBD said...

Golf Carts are for beer coolers!

Lawyerliz said...

Sounds ok.

Lawyerliz said...

You guys ever hear of escrowing money?
You put the building road money into one enveloe, the school money in another, earthquake strengthening in another, etc. Then you give the envelopes to people who are trustworthy. You count it up from time to time.

Unknown said...

If you have excess in the general then the tax is too high!

Lawyerliz said...

Sems to me that General funds are licenses to steal. I propose this for really big sums of money that are needed at irreglar times.

Lawyerliz said...

Hahahahaha. Taxes are never too high.

Lawyerliz said...

Detail, none of this money should be held by any institution which was saved from going bust in the great recession. For example Chase and B of A. The skim should be very low.

Lawyerliz said...

We now have large invasive lizards called Tegu.

Those are monsters Liz! Image search shows them to be the size of dogs.

Isn't not stealing in the bible?

I see what you did there.. ;<)

Lawyerliz said...

Yep. But the are not as long as ythons, which have drooped out of the news lately.

Lawyerliz said...

There is a rumor that anacondas have been seen in the Southern Everglades.

Lawyerliz said...

Pythons. Dropped.

Lawyerliz said...

Green iguanas are cute.

Lawyerliz said...

We haven't discussed wild boar for a while. My son says they are delicious.
The mosquitos are horrible, but we don't have Lyme disease.

Lawyerliz said...

Up another hundred.

LBD said...

Boar? I am almost finished replacing the major A/C components in my kids car. Still good to do some thing from the old days to keep you humble.

LBD said...

My house is up $342 in the last 30 days. I'm paper rich! LOL!

Rob Dawg said...

My hovel goes up and down $40k per month according to zestimate.

Good Morning!

Looks like BLS B-2 hours worked up a tick, still nothing note worthy, still down from peak a couple of years ago.

Cinco-X said...

These granite steps are kicking my ass. Moving 500-700lbs uphill by hand is a b¡tch! I'd like to be done this afternoon, but I may finish till Saturday or Sunday. We're expecting warm rain today.

LBD said...

No way to get a machine in to the work area?

Cinco-X said...

Not really. Very slope-y, and in addition to the risk of getting someone killed, the machine might end up in the brook at the bottom of the mound where were putting the steps. Manhandling is actually the safest way, as long as we're careful and use good sense. Of course, as they say, common sense isn't all that common...

Lawyerliz said...

Hire some ancient Egyptions?

Good morning.😀

Unknown said...

Great jobs report. Well above consensus. When will salaries get traction?

Rob Dawg said...

Hours worked needs to keep rising before wages start up. I suspect however that automation will provide strong downward pressure.

Cinco-X said...

Ya... With a few thousand laborers this would be cake

Lawyerliz said...

I think they will. I harvested 12 cherry tomatoes. And cleaned the kithen. And ordered a battery for Roomba. These robots are soooo demanding.
