"Peak" U.S. Crude Oil Production

The reddit thread got real nasty the other day.  Seems some people don't like long held beliefs like the Hubbert Curve contravened.

I fully expect additional records to be set once market conditions support more extraction.

What's that?

Lawyerliz said...

And why should you get mad about it?

Since when do some of them need a reason?

Must be some profit for many still to produce more. Cheap fuel maybe the down fall of electric cars. Market demand will sort it out.

Time for me to come clean. 2015 just barely missed the peak if 1970 for net extraction. I've been goading Antipodes for the past few days because for years he has been a peakenese. The only way to get a peakenese to get better is to force them to admit the old peak was not a peak. They won't accept data from outside. They need to find it for themselves. Antipodes is a particularly tough customer.

How about goading him to post on here instead ?

How about posting charts on historical EROEI (going to zero), new discoveries (also going to zero) and shale company profits (already sub-zero). :-)

I think they all hate oil because they associate it with the Republican party..

When I first started posting it was about wind and sun never being abe to replace oil. Now it seems they can replace quite a bit. Why is peak important?

How do you get on the reddit remnant of hcn?

Humid here but in the 80's only a 1/2" of rain this week farmers are watering the corn. Dry land is thirsty.

Definitely hot and humid in the Carolinas. I don't do anything outside after 0900.

To celebrate going to the poor house we went out for lunch and had prime rib sandwiches. Is my loss deductible? Or is the gain not real? I'm so confused. LOL!
