Erosion In Evidence

27 Jun. 2017
The Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index®, which had decreased in May, increased moderately in June. The Index now stands at 118.9 (1985=100), up from 117.6 in May. The Present Situation Index increased from 140.6 to 146.3, while the Expectations Index declined from 102.3 last month to 100.6.

Okay.  Anyone remember 1985?  Anyone sufficiently informed to say 1985 consumer expectations are in any way comparable to 2017 is arrogant.

How do you keep the birds from getting them all?

Raptors. Seriously. We have a functional pyramid of nature.

There's supposed to be snakes in the turtle burrows. Haven't seen The snakes, have seen shed snake skins. The turtles have been quite destructive lately.

Heard nothing about pythons.

there must be some mistake..those look nothing like the tomato plants we grow on our deck... hehehe

I don't really know what was happening in 1985 as I was working all the time. Denver was still in a slump as I recall from the oil bust.

I see a great tomato war coming! Who grows the biggest!

Mike said...

1985 was that awkward period between disco and grunge...

LBD said...

What's grunge? I left off at country and western. :)

Was a bit over a thousand in the middle.

oh I see now..those are the tops of trees you were skimming..

The pic is from the end of the 800 foot practice line. The half mile line was enough to give this former rock climber a moment of pause.

re: request for voter information kerfluffle.. quote from WA state Sec of State today:

Wyman said she was confident that any scrutiny of Washington state elections would show no problems. "I have not seen evidence of voter fraud in this state, and I have not seen evidence of voter suppression in this state," she said.

same lady..Sept 30 2016..

Wyman wrote that the questions about his citizenship “shined a bright light on the fact that under current state law, as election administrators, we are not able to confirm the citizenship of any registered voter.”

Lawyerliz said...

Useless to ask then?

Mike said...

FedGov can confirm citizenship status..which is why so many states are hesitating to turn over the info imo..and why Obama prohibited them from doing so..

New post.

Ruby, what is your real opinion of the Boatswain? Price/performance leader. I actually meant to recommend the Boatswain H.L.V. but got them confused. I like them both but like the H.L.V. better.

bought a new gas grill over the weekend. Its a packing marvel. 28 individual pieces and 8 bolt types. Took me a beer just to get it out of the box.

Rob Dawg said...

I see where you went wrong. you didn't "limber up" with a beer BEFORE starting to unpack.

I love my gas grill. Must use it 100+ times per year. Max use event last month was 14 lbs of tri-tip and a bucket of baked beans on the side burner. Since there is no one to vouch you will have to take my word that I am really good at the caveman thing; fire & flesh.

Lawyerliz said...

Would you burn heretics?

Rubygoat said...

never had the boatswain. I'll check it out.
