Cramer Revisited

You want winners? You want me to put my Cramer Berkowitz hedge fund hat on and just discuss what my fund is buying today to try to make money tomorrow and the next day and the next? You want my top 10 stocks for who is going to make it in the New World? You know what? I am going to give them to you. Right here. Right now.

OK. Here goes. Write them down -- no handouts here!: 724 Solutions ( SVNX), Ariba ( ARBA), Digital Island ( ISLD), Exodus ( EXDS), InfoSpace.com ( INSP), Inktomi ( INKT), Mercury Interactive ( MERQ), Sonera ( SNRA), VeriSign ( VRSN) and Veritas Software ( VRTS).

We are buying some of every one of these this morning as I give this speech. We buy them every day, particularly if they are down, which, no surprise given what they do, is very rare. And we will keep doing so until this period is over -- and it is very far from ending. Heck, people are just learning these stories on Wall Street, and the more they come to learn, the more they love and own! Most of these companies don't even have earnings per share, so we won't have to be constrained by that methodology for quarters to come.
~ James J. Cramer, keynote speech excerpt, 6th Annual Internet and Electronic Commerce Conference and Exposition Feb 29, 2000

Would you buy a solid gold watch for a dollar?

Lawyerliz said...

Oh sure. Kitty back.

Lawyerliz said...

Oh, none of them survived?

Rob Dawg said...

VeriSign is left. Went from high 200s to 5 and is now 17 years later 120.

Lawyerliz said...

Well, the people who boght at 5 and stayed around. . . Well, that would be 1 or 2 people!

Reminds me of penny oil stocks back in the 80's. Nobody wants to miss out on the new age, OOpps!

See the bit on that company that added Blockchain to it's name and soared 394%? Same thing happened near the top of the 2000 bubble with companies changing their names to "tech incubators".

Hi TJ. The hub wanted to buy ReHat, bur nobody would sell to him.

Good Morning!

12F this morning

Watching YouTube videos on the Westinghouse, Rockefeller and now Rothschild. What amazes me is the simple formula of multiplication and simple discipline had on their success. Same formula the depression folks lived by, many very successful in their own way. What has gone wrong with the average American to this simple method?

No earnings so no constraints. Arrrrgghh.

Verisign and the other "E Signature" platforms are going to blow up in a spectacular way one of these days.
They are NOT secure and can not be made secure.
Real popular for Real Estate deals for years...just wait until some bored hacker decides he'd like title to half the property in Malibu just for shits and giggles.

Update on fire damage, EVERY foundation will have to be inspected (6,800 in Sonoma County alone)before any rebuilding, temperatures reached 3,500 degrees in many areas which is not good for concrete.

The freaking anchor bolts melted into puddles of once hardened steel.

Cinco-X said...

One of the issues with the carbon footprint of concrete is that the lime has to be heated to very high tennis to drive off the CO2. The CO2 is reabsorbed when the concrete cures, but the embodied energy from processing is huge ...

Rob Dawg said...

One of my favorite points about the California high speed rail project. Save CO2? Have you included to concrete? You even have concrete railroad ties.

Rob Dawg said...

Concrete needs decades to dry out. If there was still substantial moisture that high temps drive out the crystal structure would be compromised. Doesn’t matter. If the hard points were melted who would want to reuse anyway?

Hub: WOW!!!

And there aren't enough workers to to this
Come to Florida where we mostly need roofs. And we're real nice here.

Liz, the County will be taxing people pro rata on land value as it was before the fire and amended tax bills will go out December 15.
However, those lots are worth a lot less today than they were before the fire, and values won't recover for several years.
Best quality city lots (Fountaingrove)have lost at least 30% of their value overnight.
Just removing the loose debris will take all winter.
And if you think PG&E will be held responsible to any substantive degree by California I suggest you take a look at Jerry Brown's appointments to the PUC last week.
California is governed by an odiously pustulent and utterly corrupt kakistocracy.

Rob Dawg said...

PG&E’s residential NatGas delivery prices are structured assuming $11 gas and the PUC says not a word.

Rob Dawg said...

The Public Utilities and the Public Utilities Commission; two headed shark.

Rob Dawg said...

It will be interesting. No doubt mortgages properties are going to have a disconnect. Someone will owe a million on a $1.5m property. As a burned out lot the insurance will pay the $300k structure replacement. Taking the cash and selling the lot may only yield $800k. Many will be forced to rebuild to recover supposed/assumed equity.

LBD said...

Must protect the Banksters investment.

Brown Crooked? Wonder why I left long ago.

Lawyerliz said...

Odiously pustulent. I love it.

Lawyerliz said...

They put that money in escrow too

Lawyerliz said...

We are merely pustulent in Florida

Rob Dawg said...

Ca PUC is politically servile.

Lawyerliz said...

Gee, and we're not even talking about Trump.

Lawyerliz said...

Going to be in the 40 tonight.

Dems proposing a benefit. For child poverty. Cutting out welfare for the rich. I bet every cent of that will be spent, thus improving the economy. Cheaper too.

LBD said...

Good Morning!

Quit importing poverty for a real start. Cut education till they start doing their job and stop delivering educated illiterates. Tax all welfare income. Dems are a false hope for profit.

How about arresting some of those Clinton gangsters?

Cinco-X said...

Got a major amount of rain last night. Washed out the bridge that we just had rebuilt last year. Local flooding around the area; power out at work and for about 300k; roads closed here and there...

LBD said...

Wow! Does it effect you? We got nothing but wind and cool for a couple days the a little warmer.

Lawyerliz said...

Who is they? Not doing their work? The teachers? The students? Name the gangsters. We will get the names of the Trump gangsters shortly

Lawyerliz said...

I forgot where you are.

Cinco-X said...

New England

LBD said...

They, add to your list Union, Administration, parents, etc.

Hillary, Bill, Anthony Wiener (I know he is spending time for unrelated stupid) Auma, Wasserman Schultz, etc.

Trumps gangsters actions so far seem to have no direct connections the the government. Wait and see.

Rob Dawg said...

New post just to refresh the schedule.

If there is credible evidence against the Democrats you named, I would expect Jeff Sessions Justice to have prosecuted them. The Republican controlled Houses of Congress would have demanded it. Until then, most people will think you are just making things up just like Donald Trump.
