Get Ready for Caledonian Pictures
Since the subject veers wildly in the comments regardless the top posts can be most anything how about a few vacation travel photos?
I hope ventura isn't burning. To me the amaxing part is that there is nothing left but the slab and a few coal chunk sized pieces of rubble.. just how hot were these fires? One pick shoes sa long puddle of alluminum, which the caption said was a melted car And added that aluminum melts at 1200 degrees. This is worse than any hurricane rubble, in which you can tell that used to be a roof. Oh, that's a bathtub!
The Northern half occasionally gets the same dry, compression, low humidity wisweeping down but they have a different name. They call them Diablo winds. Devil. SoCal nit pickers call them Santanas (also devil) but for some reason the name has devolved to Santa Ana winds.
The nature of these types of fires and the weather they create makes them blast furnaces. You don't need to even contact direct flame. THe hot funnel winds cause combustion.

One pic shows a long puddle.. .
Some winery pics show the bottles melted.
It's a melted car. Aluminium melts at 1200 °.
Liz, the temperatures can reach 2,000 degrees in a California Wildfire.
I'm heading to Santa Rosa for a weekly office meeting in a few minutes, later.
Are there any Santa Ana winds helping to feed these fires?

“The reality is we’re not going to see a strong onshore flow that will push smoke out of the area at least through the weekend,” Gass said.
Gass did offer a dose of possible good news for firefighters battling the numerous blazes in the North Bay: a chance of rain Wednesday into Thursday.
You mean next Wednesday?
