So You want to live in Santa Monica
Check out the volume. Check out the median. Check out the price per square foot. Or just decide to check out.
I keeps tell youse guyz - Santa Monica is CrazyTown.
Also currently suffering from another wave of bums sweeping across town, and the crime is going up like crazy. You ought to see the discussions on the neighborhood bulletin boards - Lots of people have put in camera systems and are posting pictures of lurkers, attempted break-ins, child molesters, etc. People who have called the police generally get little or no response.
To me, the ultimate luxury is to having devoted maids (clean everything they see, changing sheets, if there is some new dirty thing cleaning it) Twice a week. Someone to weed the back and sawgrass 3 time a week. In a medium large house, only a little bigger than what I have, Better proportioned The second story made of cinder block, liberally supported by steel bolted in, really strong slates, if there is such a thing. Light holes in the roof, and a hurricane safe room. Is that too much to ask?
Liz, the people that can afford these houses are typically either professionals like doctors or lawyers, or successful entertainment industry professionals - and there are lots of professions in that industry that pay quite well if you are successful. Also some pro ballers and of course a few heirs.
The less expensive parts of town are condos and apartments, the residents are everything from college professors to social media developers to yoga teachers.
In the 90402 zip, they now have two different private security companies patrolling the neighborhoods, because the police never send patrols there unless there is a murder or something.
What is the world coming to when the wealthy have to suffer the same as the rest of us. I am often shocked at how little a police officer can actually do when a crime happens. Its mostly just write down what people say happened.
Got in a round of golf at the Braemer Golf Club. The course director said without boasting that they have members that also belong to St Andrews and they generally prefer Braemer. Fun and challenging. Three par 3s on the front nine that were designed to humble.
Hmmm...I was there last Fall, and JP was telling me how great it was that they were shopping inner city kids out to SM on the new commuter train... The end of the line is about 4 blocks from his place

At only $1500/sf you expect police protection too?

Who lives in these houses anyway? MAybe the police are spreading their Contempt around. Too rich or too poor.

it's a big accomplishment for me not to miss the ball completely. Bonus points if it goes forwards.
Your house not being toasted I hope. Some power coming back on p r .
Ruby, in Soviet Monika the police will not come out to investigate a car theft. They want you to drive down to the police station. Seriously.
LOL, thats like needing to call the phone company to get your line hooked up. or email your ISP to get your internet hooked up.

That 'period' in the middle of YouTube makes me think that may be a dangerous URL. Has anyone vetted this poster?
They'd probably prefer that SM be walkable, not driveable
Why, every has 2 or 3 cars, no?
Is this working?
I can totally vouch for that guy.
I think YouTube does that to make shorter URL links. Anyway, it’s just Everclear’s Santa Monica.
