Greater Los Angeles has been disinvesting in roads whilst massively investing in transit for decades. Now we are seeing the long cycle failure of that policy. Look at the Metro ridership data:
Down, down, down. This in a period of economic cycle that traditionally sees rising transit usage. And yes, Uber is cutting into ridership. There is no upside except for the inevitable overspending for the 2028 Olympics.

How do Global Warmists feel about giving driver's licenses to illegal aliens?
It was settled a long time ago when the Sierra Klub refused to discuss immigration as part of their overpopulation ruining California position.

I’ve been on this for a dozen years. Back then I predicted it. If RTSC is nigh the world is about to change profoundly.
Illogical. Illogical
The entire progressive agenda is illogical. Too many people yet they enable mass immigration. Nature for mankind but limit access to the wealthy. Push people into cities yet oppose the farming and infrastructure that makes that possible.
Good morning. It’s early but I fell asleep early so my internal clock is out of sync.
Not early to me. Anything interesting on Reddit? Is Mary still on there?
Good Morning!
Windy day again, 45-55 mph.
Kali needs to import more poverty to fill those empty seats. Self destruction is ugly.
Yuan has changed names and us back ruining every topic. Best to stay away until he implodes.
I see Cinco is about to get Nor’easter number two. Luck him.
LARRY Summers thinks the tariffs are crazy. Talk to us Cinco.
Larry Summers is one of the dunces who created the bank and housing collapse. It's hard to take the medicine when minor corrections should have been handled decades ago.
I don't get why you say *Push people into cities yet oppose the farming and infrastructure that makes that possible.* as a progressive issue.
IIRC, it was the left that pushed farm subsidies, regulated power and phone (for about 100 years), and worked to PREVENT "market forces" from leaving rural areas to die.
I grew up rural, but it wasn't any liberal or conservative policy that "drove" me to the city. It was straight up economic opportunity. The big divide today is actually not liberal vs. conservative - but urban vs. rural - and NOBODY is doing policy to help rural.
Every single one of Trump's talking points is ultimately more harmful to rural - and ultimately, if ever enacted, just tilts the table even further toward urban.
There is a lot being done. Mostly harmful to urban and rural. Technology drove people from farms to urban. No future in farm labor but business in urban ares offer advancement or business opportunity for yourself. The same abuse of the welfare system I think is equal for both. Rural areas would implode faster and be more visible on the small scale then in the city. IMO
Looking at a really big snowstorm tomorrow... Really big. It's yuge... Nobody does snowstorms bigger than New England
Exactly... Their prescription for us is different than they're prescription for themselves
Why would the wealthy want to help rural America. It's just another third world country from which they can pilfer resources to support their lifestyles
And one behind that?πΏπ
Another boring few days of sunny and 75/50.
Meh... We need the moisture
Relax, Robert! The Brown Bullet will fix everything. :-)
Going over to a writer's convention in Tampa
Good Morning!
What can Brown do to you?
To me, nothing.
The Brown Bullet is going to suck billions from real federal transportation projects.
This seems the point where is ridership down due to crime and over use by the lower class? Is it the stigma of the "look at me" people don't want to be seen as commoners on public transportation?
Depends on the mode. There's cachet to taking the commuter train. No shame to use light rail. It is "the bus" that carries a stigma.
I heard the Blue Bus may go away. Hear anything?
It's been obvious for a long time that LAMTA serving 7 points of the compass surrounding Santa Monica that it was a matter of time before integration would occur.
Snowing quite hard now. Finally...
I live it when it snows. The mountains in my view get so pretty and the value of my mountain properties increase. Go snow!
Big day planting today. Lots of delicate herbs in hanging baskets now that 40 degree temps are unlikely.
15", and it's still going, though the flakes are small...
It's old in Tampa 66°.
Good Morning!
Looks like Kali and the DOJ are going to dance!
I only hope the liberal courts here get the spanking they deserve along the way.
I think the first thing to do is withdraw all Federal LE from Oakland in a very public fashion.
I like the idea and pull the money for Brown's choo choo! Some thing FOX news can't do. LOL!
Maybe the EPA can shut down the Brown Bullet for not considering the greenhouse gases generated by all the concrete being used.
Will the unemployment rate go down?
Bets?
U-3 flat to small decreases. U-6 and youth and minority down more.
Good morning all.
+311,000. Big number. I’ll go into detail later but really want to see the combination of average hours and wages.
Time up a smidge.
Once more I ask, what is full employment for white people? 3.9? 3.8? 3.7?
Hours worked up a tic but over time is up .3 YOY. Not bad, going the right way on the OT.
Caliburger started Flippy the burger cooking robot this week and will put them in all 50 Kali stores soon. Watch out, here they come!
New dog got here head stuck in between the fence and the house. Had to take the fence apart to get her out. More fence work in order. =;0
Was more imployrd rate same. Why?
The household survey had an even more dramatic increase in employed than the Establishment survey, +785k. However, unemployed also went UP by $22k.
There's no question this was a stellar jobs report, (both ES and HS show big increases in employed - even larger than ADP, which also beat consensus).
That said, typically when HS gets a labor force spike that large, the next month (or two) end up being flat. The fact U3 and U6 both remained constant suggests this particular month happened to be something of an outlier in volume. It's also month #4 at 4.1 U3, a strong indication that we're at full employment.
I have a theory Full-Employment Contingent Economic Slowdown (FECES) based on the idea that once full employment is reached, recession is imminent, because there simply aren't enough new available job seekers to keep growth going. In the past, there were still untapped women available (but not in labor force), but female participation peaked in 2000.
Despite overall positive economic news, I believe my FECES theory will result in recession arriving at the end of this year. To my knowledge, I am on an island in this belief.
Your theory stinks
Well... Totals ended up at school 28" where I am, but overall the outcome was good. It's wasn't that sticky, wet stuff that fell a few miles South and East of us, so minimal broken and downed trees, no power outages, etc. Just another big snowstorm in the North Worcester Hills...
18"...
18" of wet now is nasty business.
RRE seems to be weakening in some areas but also some places where Kali cash is driving RRE up. So a coming recession may be local at this point. We are still in a recession here in Flyover. Please keep flying over and thank you. ;)
Ours wasn't that bad. They had less about depth to the East, but it was REALLY heavy and sticky. Just brutal
These plant closings are a perfect example of the disaster that Kalipornikateya has become under Brown!!!

SAD
Good Morning!
Kali is slow on thinking. They failed to give TESLA more money, failed to raise gas prices to build a recharge station network, outlaw diesels, outlaw fossil fuel transportation in cities. They will never be European. So sad. :(
Sonoma County is a special part of California.
I just priced a replacement Electric Water heater, with all the parts about $500 ,not bad.
However a local $98 permit is required and it does have to be installed by someone with the appropriate license.
A total of $1,400 was the quote from HD.
Permits for simple installs is robbery. Checking a gas line is stupid as Joe home owner should have a permit to change his BBQ propane tank. The real insult is paying a licensed professional and have the inspection. Government jobs and votes. Electric water heater is usually three or four wires and observe the color codes. IMO.
You live there. . .Get some teenagers on your side!! Make them take cold showers.
Am at a literary conference. Hmmmm, ,
HBD dinner with my youngest and family. :)
Back to MI again
.
Talk on satisfying Hollywood. The font, the margins the perfect spelling and framma5r, the specific pattern on story arc. They have lots of screens to go though, but many spots on tv to fill, so lots of demand. You could succeed
Grammar
Lizzy,
Did they talk about A Winkle In Time?
Wrinkle, it winkie?
Busy weekend with family and friends. Cool and breezy, warming trend returns this week.
Grammar, spell check!
No.
Good morning.
Good Morning!
Time change didn't effect the dogs!
Well... We had a 75° day back in February, and I thought winter was over... Right
Lol... Looks like the coast gets the brunt of this one
Daughter is getting it again.
Did they name this one Stormy Daniels? :)
