Keep Calm and Carry... Your Beer

Anybody have an experience with uber. I had a bad one at the Orlando airport. They went to the wrong terminal. Gps failed them I suppose. Used a taxi . Shooting on Orlando,but it was a "normal" workplace disgruntled employee sort of thing.
I was thinking about using Uber for an upcoming vacation (instead of renting a car) but after paying for a hotel shuttle (didn't those used to be free?) and then using Uber for side trips (avg $20 per trip..each way..as far as I can tell)..I think renting a car will be cheaper (and more convenient).
No vans between Orlando and Merritt islancr. Only uber and taxi. I have a feeling taxi and uber would have cost about the same. Uber came to the wrong place. Close to a nightmare. Taxi was pleasant. Nice Hatian guy. We discussed Haiti's problems and he criticized uber as too expensive.

I live in the mountains of Central America or the hills along the Platte valley in Nebraska. :)
