Dated Dowager Demands Dollars

Before you start laughing keep in mind this is a mistake... errr I mean estate.  As an estate, all 1.1 acres, the price shouldn't be all that important.   Now, it this were an upscale middle class tract home from 1988 then you'd have a point.

2114 Applewood Ln, Santa Rosa Valley, CA 93012

6 beds 5 baths 6,196 sqft

Rather than bore you with he expansive grounds and opulent accommodations I'll just show the bathrooms:

 Price history:

Hah I have 2 3/4 acres. If I double the size, and a bit more, would I have a super mansion?

LBD said...

Only if you double the square footage. :)

Rubygoat said...

The square footage of the bathrooms is bigger than my whole 1100 sqft house.

I just bought this house with an interest-only mortgage that matures in 60 years.

It was the best I could do with a 370 credit score.

Another sweet deal!

Long time no speak Walrus...

I was young and poor. Now I'm olde and upper middle. Both are ok. Dawg Is rich

Lawyerliz said...

Nah, you might have a McMansion.

That house is to ugly to be called anything that starts.with M

Lawyerliz said...

House up $200.

Lawyerliz said...

Is that really Casey Serin?

I bought my Merritt Island house at almost exact the same time for 164k. And 25 k for Dade count rated hurricane windows. We spent 30k to make it less ugly. Now we will spend about 50 to 75 for a new roof and to make it almost attractive. 2 and 3/4 acres. None to make it more salable, all because we wanted to.

Good Morning!

At this point I make my home they way I want it and an not real concern about the sale value. Time for fun not profit. :)

We too are modest in improvements for our pleasure. There's an infill house proposal in the neighborhood. First in years. Based on recent activity our hovel would more likely be demolished as the lot plus the existing permitting is worth the same as the property as it is.

I didn't know it came with turtles.
As I post the hub is filling turtle hole On his new walkway.
He is hot

Lawyerliz said...

Modest? 150 in improvements? You are really rich if you don't even know you are rich

It's fun being cheap. The hunt, the kill and more toys to play with. You make money with out supporting the banksters. Love it!

Lawyerliz said...

I guess we are poor and don't know it.

Lawyerliz said...

Hub has more toys he can possibly play with. They are not the same ones you guy would choose. Nothing automotive or marine. For me it would be vastly increased maid service. And more shoes.

LBD said...

Poor compared to where you started. Doesn't sound like poor to me but a hard work, long slow accumulation of wealth.

I alway wonder where the servants quarters are. Clean 6 bathrooms? Utter hell.

Those who forget to humble lose respect for others. I still do plumbing including nasty toilet replacement.

Cinco-X said...

In FL that's a huge lot

Lawyerliz said...

I you have 5 kids and parents living with you, ok.

Rob Dawg said...

Those bathrooms look like a cleaning hell. Did you see just the glass sink and all the bright work for the faucet?

Lawyerliz said...

Hub fixes electronic things Building his walkway. or determines.they are unusable. Never did any plumbing. I need to tidy up for maids. Hahahahaha. They don't know where stuff goes.

Lawyerliz said...

Glass is never clean

Rubygoat said...

we are ditching the 10 yr old carpet putting in wood floors and I've been shocked at the cost of materials for anything made of materials you'd actually be ok exposing your family to.

Cinco-X said...

Wood is reasonable. In Groton, Mass there's a place where you can buy pitch pine sawn in the premises for prices comparable to some of the average material from Lumber Liquidators. It's pretty tough stuff

Rob Dawg said...

The engineered hardwood in 2/3rd of the Dawghaus I wouldn't hesitate to pay twice as much to get again. #BRs with low carpet. Two tile BRs. One each sheet linoleum bath and the kitchen. The wood stuff is tough and gorgeous and human friendly.

Cinco-X said...

You're on a slab, so engineered flooring is about all that will work...

Rubygoat said...

engineered wood, coming to $15 a sqft all in

Rob Dawg said...

True.

A Lexus? We didn't even pay for a Kia. Wow that's a lot if inflation no one bothered to count.

Installed?

Cinco-X said...

That was meant for Rubygoat

Rubygoat said...

Labor, leveling the slab, glues, stair noses, wood, haul off of old carpet, etc. All in its $15 a ft.

Cinco-X said...

Doesn't sound that bag...

Cinco-X said...

Ack! That bad

Rubygoat said...

I was expecting $10 a ft, but the first couple quotes were closer to $20. Total sticker shock. We took a few months to save more, and haggled the price down to $15 on our second favorite option. The favorite option wouldn't budge on price. Installation is next week and we are pretty happy about it. Spending money is hard work.

Rob Dawg said...

The five different surfaces in the Dawghaus were removed and the engineered hardwood installed completely including edging for ~$9/sf. Probably a 20% recession discount.

Rob Dawg said...

Zilljerks ripped $98,000 from their last guess. Getting strange. +$2500/day and a week later -$3100/day.
