International Currency Discussion, Casey Serin Edition

Jamba Juice is a iamfacingforeclosure unit of currency. 1jj equals one rasberry banana with wheat germ shot beverage purchased at full retail on credit including transaction fees. While a prudent investor would save store coupons and wait for "free shots" specialsthat isn't 1jj. You see inplicit with 1jj are the assumptions that anything below a certain financial threshold aren't worth expending any intellectual capital upon. Better to consume, indulge, spend, and otherwise pamper oneself rather than sweat the small stuff. The actual convertibilty of 1jj to dollars, even our weakening pesobucks is subject to much debate. In this Casey is like his own country. Subject to GAAP 1jj would be about $80 because of the list price, the overdraft penalties, subsequent carrying charges, paperwork, time lost in the consumption and subsequent time lost dealing with the consequences and most important; opportunity costs. Opportunity costs is often misunderstood and is certainly something Casey never heard of before attending some advanced courses. In those course they teach you that opportunity is knocking and you cannot afford to not answer the door. This even works in a rapidly rising market. But as readers suspect by now in a rapidly declining market worse than the opposite is true. Casey has a burn rate. By investing what will eventually total hours to his 1jj indulgence he has foregone the opportunity to stop or at least slow the bleeding.

Crispy, you might be right. So, the thing to watch is his sitemeter for a spike of curiosity and the slide into obscurity.

And I think you're wrong. If there's one thing you should have learned about Casey by now, it's that he's delusional. He's convinced himself about many of the statements he's made. He'll keep blogging to "help" others.

In the end, even if you don't believe that - you have to suspect his gut will till him that the only way he's different than scores of other f'ed borrowers is hs web site. He'll keep that going in the hope of parlaying it into a book deal that will bail him out ...

Robert, Robert, Robert, have you seen The Serin post(s) from yesterday?

I have weaned myself to about 1-2 views of his website per week now...I think my interest has waned because it's so absolutely infuriating.

That could be merely his trollish purpose, but I'm pretty sure he is just an idiot.

And (apparently because I am petty) I am not evolved enough to let idiots be themselves without ire and comment.

Happy New Year!

Robert -

Can you find Sputnik???? Casey needs some poop in his shoes....

We need a few Sputnik comments on Casey's blog......

Rob Dawg said...

Sputnik tried to poop today but hasn't got eaten fishy treats.

I've tried to lure him here to no avail.

Today was just SURREAL. Is there any other word? I knew he was well under average intelligence, uneducated, undermedicated and such but now he just resembles an internet punching clown. You remember thise as a kid? Hit 'em and they just pop up and smile at you some more. WHy [smack] WON'T[punch] YOU [whack] STAY [jab] DOWN?

Seriously, this looks more and more like a cautionary tale and not seriotragicomedy. His "downs" are ever lower and his "ups" are briefer and more random.

Serios? WTF am I doing?!? He can't freakin' do a spreadsheet. This ain't tragedy it's Darwinism. At this point it is a crime against nature to allow this to pass unpunished. I swear to gawd, if it looks like he's gonna slide I'll file AGAINST the Sacramento DA and demand discovery of their records to prove they knew a crime was being commited and did nothing. Now, now, don't worry. Here's how I'll do it. Sure someone will "file" but the named will include the lenders who will have no choice but to pick sides. If they don't file as victims they'll be attached as coconspirators. Then we mice will watch the elephants battle. Plan?

My first impression of his being a clueless Gen Y looking for an angle appears incorrect. I'm afaid he is just stupid and gullible. He seems to believe ANYTHING someone tells him in a positive light. Thus the $30,000 condo debacle. Thus the "no news is good news" behavior vice the mail stack.

In news it appears that the Dallas house is gone.

6 months only. This makes me wonder how the others are doing. Likely he is making enough payments to keep the wolf at bay and this might explain where the money has been going.

I'd never give him the advice but the thing he needs more than anything is a coffee tin buried in the backyard at this point. And not in the backyard of one of the properties either. You'd think that someone who exhibits such reptilian brain behavior would be hunkering down readying for a "fight or flight response." Ohhh wouldn't that be fun, a Casey chase. Where's Waldo... errr... Casey? Low speed Jetta pursuit on TV! A standoff barricaded in one of the Sacto houses. "Back off or I'll trash the equity!"

Did ya notice the first hint of the next tangent? Casey's hard drive is "failing." And you know he doesn't back up and you know he isn't burning the critical data to a CD while he still can. Thus we'll see a cryptic note about computer problems and silence. When he comes back up he'll apologize, claim a borroed machine and forget entirely about the things he was supposed to be doing.

We will get a Larchmont update soon so I checked the zillow comps and they say -$20,000 since he tried in September to short sell. Sacto home prices falling 2.5% per month is pretty scary for all of us. He could just get lost in the noise of a bigger story.

Hey Robert

There is a great photo of Casey on craigslist. I don't how to post it, so here's the link

You'll need to go to the CL site, then housing forum. Look for the posting with the following:

sfo Housing is down cause of idiots like Casey Serin. It was posted on 2/29 at 12:55.

Robert,

The site is an obvious hoax. We may not know the true author behind Casey's comments, but there are so many confirmed lies and the sheer absurdity of his stories defy reality.

I agree with others that the site was purely a marketing ploy. Casey's "moderation", deletion, and refusal to answer key posts are telltale signs the game is rigged.

Homey has posted a few times Casey shoould state on his site he is not lying under penalty of perjury, but Casey won't. That is not by accident.

I have lost interest in his site, much like seeing the freakshow at the carnival, it's fleeting sense of curiosity and suspense has long since passed.

I'll check back to see if and when he is arrested, assuming he doesn't shut it down first, as it no longer serves the puropose of bringing in the Adsense revenue.

Rob Dawg said...

Yo, BigDaddy. Of course the site is a hoax. I mean he owns the properties and is totally screwed and damn well better go to jail but the -site-, now that's all bullsh!t. The picture of mail piled up at the house? GMAFB, so staged. Then the picture of Galina. People don't save blurred pics like that unless it is deliberate. And all the facinating "hints" of more trouble, more loans, new schemes? Clearly all he thinks he's got is the blog and he's attempting to monetize it. Ain't gonna happen and like you I don't care. These recent excesses don't even hold entertainment value. I only pay attention for the meta-issues; how will it end, the bi-polar swings in content, the admiration of applied psych by a truly lower shelf intellect. Now he is reviewing his involvement in the blog. Can't you see it? "no, Casey!, keep blogging, we luv u" etc. That should hold the sheeple until Mrs. Serin announces the impending arrival. Imagine the hits that'll bring!

We really should set up a blog: CaseyWatch dot com or some such. It's available to any interersted person with $4.95. That way he gets nothing but a few dozen hits and "we" can get some sweeeet adsense revenue. There's all kinds of tools to autoscreen for fraudulent clickthroughs and we can have forums where all the running theories about truthiness and mental stability and such can run wild. Tim can guest blog. Sputnik the corporate mascot can have his very own shoe tree and digital fishy treats will be awarded to loyal posters, etc. We can even have a moderated serious forum where nuances of Ch7 v Ch13 and such can be related.

Yes, the blog is nothing more than Casey Serin's latest Gen Y Nega-Hero easy money for nothing get riche quick scheme but the content is substantially correct.

Me, I'm even getting tired of meta-issues and will probably return more to exurban, planning and transportation. I'm also adding a new feature; Blogs O'Shame to highlight the truly excreble misuse of the medium by realtors and mortgage brokers and planners. To keep things balanced I will also highlight Blogs O'Note for academics, economists and others for their "getting it."

Don't look now, but as of tonight, Casey's website is giving me a 500 Internal Server Error. Maybe his hosting bill was in the staged pile of bills.

Of course the pic of Galina is staged. And it is definitely not one of those "bad-blurry" pics that people throw out. I am a designer by profession, and a hobby photographer, and I often work with or art direct photographers. Casey is an excellent photographer. The "blurry" shot of Galina is extremely artistic and deliberately disguises most of her features, while revealing enough to keep us interested. But for a good lay photographer, this shot is easy to create and not necessarily staged. Someone who understands digital cams and custom settings has taken this photo. It's just like the blue ball photo. I do think that Casey actually has artistic talent. I haven't been able to discern any other strengths though. He should've stuck with web design.

Hot damn, there are some good posts in response to Casey's 2006 Review.

Maybe Casey has already sold the blog and he's currently merely "maintaining" it.

The condition of Facing Foreclosure is going to become unfortunately common in the coming months and years, and there could be money in owning the domain that "started it all". The true monetization of the blog won't be put in place until the country is awash in displaced homeowners seeking info.

I have the whole day off to krooze around the web! I hope there are lots of blog updates to keep me thrilled.

Someone said start a site to monetize Casey's blog.

I agree. I think that there should be Google add space etc and three tip Jars.

Tip Jar 1.
Legal Representation For his wife. She could use it for a divorce, some kind of therapy or cleaning supplies.

Tip Jar 2.

A marketing campaign to bring attention to the authorities that will prosecute this fraud.

Tip Jar 3.

Two months of rent for a studio apartment in a basement somewhere. Yuleo can toss him out. He will have two free months to wait for his big deals to come in.

It may sound cruel but what is wrong with answering all of his prayers. He can dump his wife, meet bubba and mooch free rent.

Be careful of what you wish for.
