Ah jeez.

That's so sad. She had a wonderful way of pointing out the good, the bad and the ugly in the mortgage business without any BS.

Eery, My 47 year old sister died of cancer last week also. It seems so sudden when it is someone so young who still has so much to share. RIP Tanta. It sure makes the whole financial disaster seem like not such a big deal when you measure it against everything else in life.

Perfect picture Rob.

OT - So if China is devaluing their currency and willing to finance our government debt is there a way out of this financial mess?

I've sent the pic link to CR. He enjoyed it as well.

China may be devaluing their currency because it isn't worth the present exchange rate. Remember a large part of the value of the Yuan is/was its' claim on US consumer consumption.

Off topic, but of interest: Houses in the Bay Area for under $100k. 600 of them currently. Most have small "issues", like the plumbing was ripped out, but...

Am I the only thinking it is twilight zone time when Dow ±400 pts is normal and essentially trendless? And how about those 8800 and 8200 poles of the magnet?

RIP, Tanta. A sad day.

Rob, I dropped you a note at the only email address(es) I have for you, but I'm not sure if they still work.

Great find on the picture. It's good to hear that CR enjoyed it.

On the twilight zone, I see the signpost up ahead says that it's official, we have been in recession since December 2007.

So much pain to take down the Masters of the Universe. Hopefully some of that misguided talent that Wall Street has been vacuuming up out of the productive sectors of our society will find some way to do something useful.

SM_L,
I got it. Sorry for slowness replying. Literally too many computers. I'm working on your project. BTW, you should know; When we we walking out of the church 21 years ago my new wife turned to me and said; "Now, about that homebuilt project..."

This was an inside joke seeing as most of the professional staff of Scaled Composites was in attendance. [The priest is multi certified to this day.]

I've got a few lines that might suit you.

Tanta's passing is a loss for the world of economic bloggers, and the world in general. She was a breath of fresh air in a room full of recycled fumes, and will be missed.
