Dawghaus Details

Flooring is a tough thing for both homeowners and landlords.  Quality can last longer and command a rent step.  Might last longer and believe me saving just one replacement is a big deal.  Then there are challenges.  One place has a thin subfloor.  The Dawghaus has slab.  You have to think before rolling out the Home Despot sale of the week.  Here is the majority of the Dawghaus:
8 layer engineered hardwood flooring.

The field effect.
And as promised the xeriscape sector.

The hub likes it. So do I.

Lawyerliz said...

I prefer tile.

Cinco-X said...

I as well...I was there in the dry season so there weren't as many flowers. Still a pretty place

Rob Dawg said...

I've not seen a scratch so far. IMO soft tile. Between the super windows and floor dust dirt are almost gone. Roomba takes care of most of that. What spurred the post is I bought a gallon of water seal and will be using the left over planks to do the third bathroom.

Mrs Dawg also reminds us of early houses where we only fixed stuff we "put up with" when getting ready to sell. Why not enjoy?

I apologize for the drought. You were indeed denied some of the pleasures of living where no one can afford to live. I have enough of a civic profile that a lush lawn like a few of my neighbors would have drawn criticism. Now I need a pack of goats to gnaw down the grass which is overrunning near all.

Cinco-X said...

Lol... We had a great time...I just figured they were out of season. Only the Aster were in bloom here back then

Cinco-X said...

Whoa... Sears announced that there is some doubt that they will be able to be in business given their current revenue...

Rob Dawg said...

Dammit. If just once i could live up to my reputation of being an ogre.

Cinco-X said...

My wife's Amaryllis is the only thing in bloom right now, and it's indoors

Cinco-X said...

You could go troll the mudville, but I wouldn't bother.

Rob Dawg said...

Sears announced

Missed that? Look at the Malls around you. Draw a circle not just Framingham or Northampton but north. All that retail. Huge.

I haven't decided on the laminate at the rental yet. Having the carpets cleaned, as ugly as the kitchen is spot test with glass cleaner comes right up. If it doesn't work I think I will try a laminate floor over the carpet.

I just got one of those fake calls saying the IRS had filed a lawsuit against me and I should call back!!!!

Lawyerliz said...

Agreed.

Not A Good Idea

Rob Dawg said...

Not a good idea.

Rob Dawg said...

I got a cold call letter saying I could sell in 48 hours to someone who recently bought nearby. Does this work?

LBD said...

Zillow says my house is up $5.4K in the last 30 days. LOL!

Lawyerliz said...

Zillow is fun at least.

Lawyerliz said...

Sure.

Dawg, I'll put something up over the weekend. Spoiler alert, prices have dropped in Sebastopol during 2017.
Not much at all, but the first price drop since 2010.
In other news Bob Lee has finished his reproduction of the Ti22 and it will be racing at the Long Beach Grand Prix...I met him through HCN.
A very nice guy and his wife's jam is to die for.

Cinco-X said...

Highly suspect idea

Cinco-X said...

What was his handle? Something with Cobra in it?

Rob Dawg said...

No. Cobra driver is from Florida.

Cinco-X said...

Ya... That's what I was thinking

Cinco-X said...

13°F right now... WTF! It's almost April

Lawyerliz said...

tom! Bless your heart!

Lawyerliz said...

It's 66 with a mild thunderstorm. An inch and a third here, a cording to the weather station in the back yard. Which we needed.

Lawyerliz said...

Who is holding a gun to your head to live there?

Lawyerliz said...

I miss him.

Rob Dawg said...

Officially boring season. 70s/50s with morning coastal fog.

Looking forward to Tom posting.

LBD said...

Good Morning!

46F and a high of 74F coming with T-storms expected. To hot and dry for this time of year.

LBD said...

Hi Tom.

Lawyerliz said...

Good morning to all. Rehab Exercise and dental cleaning for today. How Did I find time to work?

Lawyerliz said...

Been doing sawgrass chopping clearing roses of weeds and fertilizing. Afraid to do too much. Exhausted the next day. Since I had that not-a-tia. We went straight to hosp. Handled very high blood pressure right asway. A (male) acquaintences didn't and waited, and is a mess. Let this be a lessen. .

Lawyerliz said...

How may Dr's do I have. How do a count thee? Family doc. Eye doc, neurologist. Dentist. Shrink. Dematologist (rarely). Plastic surgeon (done I think ) oh crotch doctor, need a new one, don't like one I have. You know a few year ago, I didn't spent much time on med care. New one cataract removed. Had a roD put in my leg when I broke it 4 years ago. No major surgeries anticipated and yet

Cinco-X said...

I have a job and family here.

Cinco-X said...

Ouch!

LBD said...

Seven doctors at the moment. I am rolling wreck or as I like to refer to myself as a science experiment. LOL!

Cinco-X said...

Same here... At least... Well actually more of you include dentist and oral surgeon.

Lawyerliz said...

The hub has a mere 4 docs, with specialists as needed. But. Every time he goes to the dermatologist he has a bit chppoed or frozen off.

Cinco-X said...

I was including specialists. I have only one PCP

Lawyerliz said...

We are walking examples of why med care is so expensive. My lifestype is reasonably prudent.

Lawyerliz said...

I wasn't including therapist which is where I am now.

Lawyerliz said...

Soon we will have to have a right toe Dr and a left toe doctor.

Rob Dawg said...

Gerontologist and cardiologist. And the Framingham Heart Study every few years. So about 20.

LBD said...

Medicare is expensive when you add in the low or no contributors to the system. Many of us over achievers have paid multipules in to the system. I paid the private insurance and understand the medical system madness covers a lot of no pays. So does that make me feel guilty? nope.

Folks are saying that failing to pass this bill will be a disaster for the repugs...I think it'll be a godsend...NO one likes that bill, and I think the public would've hated it. Fwiw, the problems with healthcare are cost related, not insurance related, as much as you can separate the two.

Rob Dawg said...

Wellness care and illness care got all tangled up. it doesn't help that so much routine wellness care is jealously held behind the doctor's union firewall.

Topic note. Bo drought post this week. The drought monitor page is up and two decimal places identical to last week. Seeing as our 14 day and 7 day totals in SB/VenCo are quite high yjis has to be an error so wait for next week which is also snowpack day for the water year.

Ever since a Twitter troll was elected 45th President of the United States, the Twitterati has agonised over who to blame. But since it was Twitter that gave American voters unfettered access to Donald Trump’s brain, they really ought to be blaming Twitter itself. It’s not possible to say anything balanced or nuanced in 140 characters — that’s a format for jokes, insults and outrage. If you want to seize the world’s attention today, you must troll or be trolled on Twitter.

Climate "reporting" is always biased. Shockingly so.

Lawyerliz said...

Trump's Russia thing may have been on purpose----now, he can't do anything for them. Without raising f an even worse hornet nest again him. What ha all think?

Lawyerliz said...

Maybe he wanted to get rid of Manafort anyway.

Rob Dawg said...

I think Trump can make the case of befriending our once WW-II allies and pulling them closer to the western sphere away from China and fostering interests in economic Europe beyond natgas is a win for the US. Other than the Putin cult of personality what about Russia stands out so much anymore?

Lawyerliz said...

Invasion of Ukraine, bur countries invade other countries a lot.

EngineerJim said...

>Maybe he wanted to get rid of Manafort anyway.

I know it's not good to judge someone on appearance only, but Manafort just looks the part of a slimy creep.

Cinco-X said...

Well... After he became a political liability I'm sure he wanted to ditch him. Of course, it needs to be done delicately so as not to make it look like the original choice wasn't poor judgement

Cinco-X said...

Glad we don't do that

EngineerJim said...

>Folks are saying that failing to pass this bill will be a disaster for the repugs...I think it'll be a godsend...

Getting tired of winning already, eh ?

Cinco-X said...

I don't think the current bill will be a win in the long haul

Lawyerliz said...

Hahahahaha bitter laughter. Snort

EngineerJim said...

>current bill

Yeah, but the Dealer In Chief was going to do a deal and make it good for everyone. Win!

Cinco-X said...

Let the ACA die a slow, agonizing death. Then folks will appreciate whatever they get

Lawyerliz said...

I don't think it will.

EngineerJim said...

>Let the ACA die a slow, agonizing death.

That's Plan B.

Rob Dawg said...

Timing is all. PPACA hasn't reached sufficient pain levels yet. By replacing now the R plan will get the blame properly assigned to Ocare.

EngineerJim said...

Maybe saying that allowing the ACA to die is Plan B is a little too snarky. Maybe Trump actually though he could fix things.

Seems like something weird going on on the internets now.

Jiffy Lube of the internet.

Jiffy Lube Manager: "Your automatic transmission fluid needs replacement."
Jiffy Lube last time customer: "Did you have the clutch depressed when you -checked-?"

He's the best at fixing things. Nobody fixes things better than Trump

Cinco-X said...

I'm experiencing funny behavior too

Cinco-X said...

No joy in mudville?

Rob Dawg said...

Fix anything? Glad i'm not his cat. ;)

Trump is disruptive. People get nervous when stuff like health provision gets disrupted. We are at maximum "goodies" and minimum immediate consequences. Really bad timing.

Lawyerliz said...

I didn't.

Lawyerliz said...

Look the Repubs promised stuff. And even with a prez and both houses they aren't getting anything done, whether I would approve of it or not. It may be that these things simply can't be done. I suspect they wiil lose congressiona seats, which usually happens anyway after 2 years.

Lawyerliz said...

The ACA could be improved. But I don't think either side is interested in that.

Rob Dawg said...

It will be next year but I have a running analysis of the 2018 Senate and right now it even whether the Rs get to 2/3rds and likely they get to 60. The "math" is daunting for the Ds with 27 seats up vs 6 currently Republican.

Cinco-X said...

There'll be wailing and gnashing of teeth unless they manage to take back the house.
