hussman expects T-Bill Total Return to outperform S&P 500 on average over the next 10 to 12 years.

Don't put much faith in Hussman but if the S&P goes down 50% and the 10y constant maturity treasury only 40% that is outperform.

I don't see any red.

But there is only a tiny bit of orange on the drought monitor.

I wonder if there are many mortgages left which are based on the 1 yr t bill index. If so, those people are surely luckoing out.

Lawyerliz said...

True, but do you really expect the one s & p to be going down that much?
Those additional employed people will be spending money.

I have just one more credit of Cle to do. On ethics 65 minutes then I'm free of it for the next 3 years. Then I'll let my licence expire. Don't really know why I'm keeping it up. Except it was so much trouble to get in the first place.

Good Morning!

90F and very dry yesterday. Lots of grass fires here. Some homes lost at Lake Mac. Kali is stealing all the rain! Looks like the patch on the spillway at Oroville is working.

65 whole minutes of ethics over three years of lawyering? Isn't that a bit excessive? ;)

Good morning.

Morning all... Finally getting over that cold. I've just got sinus headaches and residual chest congestion to deal with now.

Barrister Smith in a routine review of accounts discovers a good client has been double billed and paid for for certain chargeable hours for years. The excess has lain dormant in an otherwise inactive account.

Ethics questions:
Are there other clients to which this practice might be sucessfully applied? Retroactively?

Does Barrister Smith tell his partner?

Lawyerliz said...

Why is it in a dormant account?

Obviously an error to be corrected. Dear client. Attached please find a check for X dollars. We discovered that your retainers have not been depleted. if we can help you in the future, please let us know.

I actually know a bank officer who did this and actually left the money in his account in the bank and never spent any . He gave it back, but got fired anyway.
