SI Has Swimsuits EN Has Flowers
A little break from this March of never ending winter with a few pics I took. Took me less than five minutes within a 25 foot radius. The gardens are a mess as you can see.

Everyone with skin in the game has no motive to build smaller homes. Perversely this has the effect of encouraging house designs that waste space. You've all seen them. Two story circular entrance foyer with pillars an notches good for nothing. Two wide deep half steps to the family room that can't be used for more than a potted plant. Double doors and short hall into the master. What's your experience?

Getting the kiddo out the door so 5:30 is up at the dawghaus. For various reasons it seems a lot of us have suddenly gotten quite busy in the real world. My honeydew list keeps growing. Mowing the lawn twice as often and the bushes exploding eats hours. We will find the time eventually.
The banks valuate based on square footage, and empty space is nearly free, some it makes some sense to make larger bedrooms, larger sitting rooms, etc... Your money is in the kitchen and bath, and even there, additional square footage doesn't hurt you much. Banks care about measurables, not quality

I got an early start at grownup life and early retirement forced downsizing. I don't miss the McMansion life. The unrealistic life of excess that is out dated in 10 years with a 30 year ball and chain mortgage is nuts when you think about it. Builders will build what people want just like SUV's huge is better to get your groceries.

Yes, local grown for many of us is as distinctive as regional accents. I'm sure the water has something to do with it.
