What? You didn't think the Title was going to be "Prince Charming" or "Goody Two Shoes" did you? Sure as hell wasn't gong to be "Stand and Deliver". Of course given the number of times it has been suggested and we are talking about Galina and her prospects there's always "Strip."

Galina cleaning houses on the side can be translated to "Galina is f'ing a guy who has a job/money/future on the side"

Rob Dawg said...

Carryover from the previous thread.

I doubt Galina is cleaning houses. In California the competetion for those jobs puts her at a disadvantage.

Could Galina be the place the mystery money is coming from? What about the possibilty that she has a real account type job and he has to keep his mouth shut lest the haterz™ track it down and inform the company of the debt issue? Understand, I wouldn't. Any company that doesn't check or checks and doesn't care can do what they want and deserves what they get. Face it, just because we think she's a risk due to bad credit, she may not know how bad things are and thus is not a risk in the field. 'Scourse that she doesn't know speaks poorly to some of the skills she's expected to have.

What's up with this? It was posted at IAFF by "James Marks"

"Nigel “Caseylover” Swaby posted on the donthatecasey blog that you, HeeKee and him were planning to post a troll based on Galina leaving you. So, basically, he just called you a liar.

Don't see it on Nigey's site.

Sorry for double timing here, Rob Dawg, but she could be getting housecleaning jobs through her church or with friends. Or she could have hooked up with Maid Brigade or some agency.

Khatie, so true. In the formal market, sad to say, there is the constant undercurrent of racism, ageism, beauty bias, etc. In that world she's at an advantage.

I think G is cleaning the houses of other Russians, who are giving her the work to help out.

I believe that under California law, Casey's corp. needs a board of three people (who have to meet periodically, et.al.)

I wonder who Casey signed up for the board? If it's family members, then great - Casey has just made them accessories to fraud. I'm not sure if Chris Record and Nigel would be dumb enough to sign up...

Anonymous said...

Of course, what's really interesting are the parts that are left out of the story. In fact, Galina was pregnant earlier this year, which is the real reason why she dropped out of school: the anticipation of starting a family.

After weeks of Casey's insistence, she reluctantly terminated the pregnancy... which is where the money went for "some important things" instead of paying the rent. Though Casey has revealed a lot in his blog, this was far too personal. To this day, Casey's family is not aware of this.

That was two months ago. At the time, Casey promised he would get a real job, and he was allowed to continue to stay at Yulia's home.

As the weeks passed and tensions continued to mount, Yulia and Galina concocted the "pay up the rent, and a month in advance, or you're out of here" idea... knowing fully well there was no way he could legally do so.

So when Casey looted his own corporate credit to buy more time, he finally stepped over the line. This was their final clear indication that Casey would not ever get a job, unless he was thrown out on the streets.

... and now you know the rest of the story. I'm Paul Harvey... G'Day!

I think this ad is very appropriate for Galina's situation. She should note the number... (Article)

Just like so many of snowflakes endeavors I would question the ethicality of this ad though. Nobody should expect ANY attempt for reconciliation from that attorney!

@ 7:02

Casey doesn't concern himself with niceties like complying with California corporate law. Surprise. This corporation is just a plaything for him--a device by which he can try to postpone the inevitable. He attempts to put lipstick on this pig, and he may even subjectively believe his own assessment of his motives.

Anonymous said...

@ Paul Harvey
Sorry I don't buy that theory. Just look at these comments:
After weeks of Casey's insistence...... which is where the money went for "some important things" instead of paying the rent.
Casey? Insisting? Insisting for weeks? The only thing Casey can do for weeks is nap. There's also lots of other things he needed to use the money for. Like getting the corporation active, fixing the Jetta. I really think this is a conspiracy theory too far.

Interesting little riff, but are you just trying to entertain us with an exercise from your creative writing class?

Dick McBeef sent everyone on a rabbit trail yesterday with his story about the supposed arrest.

Is there any basis in fact for your statements? If so, please share it. How did you become privy to this information? Why are the people with whom you have spoken reliable, in your view?

I don't buy the theory either, unless an abortion is more expensive than I thought it was.

Anonymous said...

REgardless there are a couple of things he never clarified - like the where the two of them went "out of town" after the CD Burning and what "important things" that money went to other than the rent? Finanical boot camp seminar anyone? Casey needs a good guru fix I'm sure.

I suspect Uzbecki Durak and Khatie are onto the right track here. Y and G could put the word about amongst the community and people would hire G to help out "someone from the old country" and pay her cash.

Anonymous said...

She's probably cleaning their vast families' houses. When a friend of mine got in an accident and had no health insurance, his father in law paid for his care and then had him work it off with housecleaning - which he gladly did.

Maybe Casey can get a fin off his old man if he washes his car.

Anonymous said...

I think Galina is using both the local "Russian Friends Network" and "Church Friends Network" to get house cleaning gigs. That's how these folks work (not that there's anything wrong with that). Folks held together by some common bond looking out for each other.

I also noted from Casey's post that Galina *will* kick him out *if* he doesn't get a steady job. So his ass hasn't hit the curb ... yet.

Now it's time for MY nap!

Ah... for all those saying "poor Galina", she wasn't complaining when she was living high on the cash back deals.

She hasn't had a job in years, she was letting Casey foot the bill - too bad for her it was all on credit. Now that the free ride is over, she's upset and wants him to support her. Tough!

Karma is a bitch though - CA is a community property state. She can dump him, but she still gets half the debt.

Honestly, the two deserve each other - both lazy, both have a HUGE sense of entitlement, both are about to get an unpleasant dose of reality.

They'll likely divorce - if not this time then sooner or later. Both think they could do better.

Niether one has much hope for a while - they'll be bitter and poor for a long time. Perhaps by mid 30's or so, they'd have a chance to be where most of us were in our mid 20's (financially at least).

Hope they enjoyed the last couple years, they'll be paying for them for the next decade.

You know, all we know about Galina is what Casey has told us. Since he's not exactly the most reliable souce in the world (understatement of the year), it's hard for me to feel anything towards her but curiosity. Who knows? Maybe she's the adult in the relationship, or is becoming the adult because she's forced to with his daydreaming and inability to man up.

We don't know. Just what he's posted. It could all be lies, distortions, fantasy, half-truths...or worse. It could be true.

I'd have to meet her, or read her side of things (if it could be proven it's her), before I could feel anything resembling anger. Maybe she is an airheaded little thing who's bought his 'it's all good" claptrap. Maybe she is a Carmella Soprano who's content to lap the cream as long as it's flowing. Maybe Nigel's anus is as big as a two car garage.

We don't know.

Question is...do we want to?

I'm a little surprised that so many are critical of Galina--she got a VERY slow start, but she's doing exactly what the "Haters" thought she should do, she got a job and told Casey to start working or get out. The only recommendation she hasn't followed yet, to our knowledge, is to go to the police, but that may still happen at some point.

I don't see her and Casey as being in the same boat any more, at all. She's out scrubbing floors while he's on a vacation--whoops, "business trip"!--in Tahoe; she is coming to grips with reality while he's still in full-on Reality Ignore Mode.

Also, I think Casey is (not surprisingly) not telling the full story--he makes it sound like she's put him on probation, when in fact he might already be out on the street. For all we know the whole changing of locks and the dumping of items that the pawn store wouldn't take on the front lawn might already have happened. I'd be very interested to see if our local spies see the Successmobile in front of Casey's (former) "office space". I have the strong suspicion that that location has become a sisters-only club, no boy speculators allowed in.

If Galina and Casey were to get divorced, a hundred bucks says that Galina will have a relatively competent divorce lawyer by her side.

Casey, on the other hand, with no money to his name and multiple creditors screaming for his head, will choose to represent himself at the proceedings. Thus, community state or not, Casey will likely end up with the worse end of the deal. Yet again.

Can't you picture him sitting in court, rocking back and forth, an artificial smile plastered on his face, softly muttering "itsallgood, itsallgood, itsallgood, itsallgood"....? :-p

"She is tired of my entrepreneurial roller-coaster and is ready to settle down and have a family. I don’t want to think about it until I reach my goal. Am I being too selfish?"

That last sentence reeks Casey trying to justify his side of an argument about this issue which probably pissed Galina off after a miscarriage and probably caused the divorce talk. I can't imagine they are any more responsible with birth control than they are with money.

Alright done speculating...

It's obvious she's just as lazy and self-entitled as Casey. She's 24 and has rarely held a job. Even while she was running up large debts. You can clearly see she was out buying clothes and stuff full well knowing she had no income to pay back the debt.

Who goes to school off and on over the course of 6 years and doesn't even have an AA degree? All that time spent on education and she can't find anything better than cleaning houses? I suspect 1 or 2 people offered the house cleaning to her and I bet it doesn't last long.

Incorrect. A California corp must have at least one director, but no more than one is required. The corporation must name people to at least three mandatory officer positions: CEO, CFO and Secretary. However, it's OK to name the same person to more than one role. You can also vary the titles so long as their responsibilities are similar. In my case, I am President, CFO, Secretary, sole director, sole shareholder, sole employee, etc. All quite legal and quite common.

There is a requirement for an annual board meeting. With only one director, the meetings go pretty quickly unless you're the type who likes to argue with himself. In my case, I make my December planning meeting with my accountant into an "annual meeting" in which we review the financials, plan for next year's taxes, etc. Truth is, even that's overkill. Legally all I need to do is keep a record that the "board" "met," decided to do nothing, and adjourned.

Per my bylaws, certain other activities require board approval, in which case I call an impromptu "meeting." The key here is also the paperwork. So long as I record that a decision was made and accepted by the board, it's legal.

The key to all this which Casey is probably ignoring is the recordkeeping. As a one person company, anything that is recorded properly will generally be regarded as having gone through the right process. If you fail to do that, then you do open yourself up to the allegation that the corporation is not really an entity seperate from its owner, which is how corporate veils and various tax avoidance schemes get skewered.

Does anybody here believe that Casey is keeping good corporate records?

It's obvious she's just as lazy and self-entitled as Casey.

She has a job. It doesn't matter how many hours a week it is, that puts her in a completely different class than Casey. And even if she is living off the good graces of her sister (which is likely) she's no longer living off credit, which, again, puts her in a different class than Casey.

Galina is part of the CaseyScam.

She may have been at one point, but she no longer is, even though she'll be paying the price for that for quite some time.

The difference is she's actually making a change. That's what the "Haters" claimed that they wanted all along; for Casey and Galina to change their ways. Now Galina does it, but it's not enough?

I'm actually a bit surprised that this crowd doesn't really seem to be that bothered by the fact that her lifestyle, by her own choice, has taken a serious hit, while he continues the high life on the corporate credit card. But then, this crowd has--whether they admit it or not--more sympathy for Casey than for Galina, because after all it's Casey who provides the entertainment.

I won't dispute that he provides the entertainment, but I have no sympathy for either.

Casey dug a hole. Not content with normal debt, he got a backhoe and went for it. He's been stupid and lazy, but he was at least pretending to have a job.

What was she doing the last three years? Job? Nope. School? Sort of... no degree, not much progress towards one (still at a JC).

So she's cleaning houses - he was burning CD's and hints at other odd jobs. Both are doing what they can for pocket change now that the credit has gone away.

Both are lazy, both have shown what can only be described as epic stupidity. Both will reap the rewards.

Casey has ignored all advice and burried his head in the sand. I have no respect for that. Galina may be working now, but only because she can't sponge off the "sweet" cash / credit any longer. Why wasn't she doing anything useful the last three years? No respect for that either.

That they're even dreaming of starting a family at this point is just icing on the cake. I really believe that neither one knows just how serious their situation is.

I thought his changing the anti-spam words to "pregnancy" and "zygote" was alleged by one person but unverified.

Alas, we now know, by his own admission, that the corporate credit was used to pay rent. When payments become due on the corporate line of credit, he can just keep getting more and more credit to cover them until the whole thing implodes, then buy another aged corporation--at least this is what I've speculated all along.

Anonymous said...

So she's cleaning houses. How much you wanna bet she puts in less than 10 hours a week doing that?

I did this in college.

If she's hooked up with an outfit like Merry Maids or Maid Brigade, then she's probably working 30 hours/week as a part-timer, or 45+ full time. Transportation to/from the clients' houses is off the clock, as are meal breaks and any equipment maintenance after a shift.

It's not like cleaning your own house; this is hard, unpleasant work with a significant risk of repetitive stress injury. It's especially bad at those companies that advertise "old-fashioned cleaning," which is usually a euphemism for deliberate inefficiency. The workers have to clean floors on hands and knees, rather than using a mop. They have to do balancing acts on ladders to wash upper-story windows, instead of using extendable squeegees. Workers all but bathe in bleach, ammonia, and drain cleaner, but aren't allowed any sort of protective gloves or masks because the sight might offend the clients. And this goes on for 8-10 hours a day.

A typical job might take 1-4 hours, during which time housecleaners are forbidden to: eat, drink, talk, use the restroom, or listen to music while they work.

Added bonuses: no sick leave, no vacation days, no health insurance, and some places have a daily charge for uniforms and cleaning supplies (whether they actually provide them or not). The managers don't care if you get fed up and leave, because there's always someone else desperate enough to replace you. Good luck getting any state agency involved in payroll or health and safety issues, either, because each franchise is such a small-time operation.

This is a terrible job. I wish Galina the best with it.

Rob Dawg said...

I definitely remember "gamete" but it was gone as fast as it appeared. It doesn't matter. Last month Casey has been in spagetti mode. He throws everything agaist the wall to see if anything sticks.

Galina reaped the benefits regardless of her complicity in the underlying crimes. She's not some dumb gangster moll and she knows a lot of his activities. She surely handles some of the bills and at least knows that every card they have is maxed out. She wasn't pushed or dragged into this. She jumped.

I realize this would be speculation, but when he announced this corporation scheme, everybody piled on and said it wouldn't work. I suspect that CaseyCorp got something like a $5000 credit card, probably from whatever bank he set up the corporation's checking account for.

When I did this for my corp, they did check my personal credit, but I'm not sure whether it was for creditworthiness or just as part of their standard "know your customer" process. I know that I've had multiple offers for similar low-limit credit cards since I started. The fact that his corp has existed for a while and may have had a positive D&B in the past might have helped.

That said, it only helped to a point. And the interest rates on those cards are all pretty high.

Doubt it'll work for long though. Credit of all types has been tightening up.

Most corporate credit applications are not that rigorous. If you can provide a clean tax id number and a solid corporate credit rating that is several years old, it is viable option for relatively small amounts of money (ie, $10-25k).

My guess is that Casey is submitting phony numbers along with his phony corporation. So long as he doesn't add too many lines of credit too quickly. But if he's smart and careful, he might be able to milk this long enough to cover his living expenses for quite some time. Inevitably this little house of cards will collapse (as do all Ponzi schemes), but if he's careful, it could work for a little while.

His biggest problem is that for this scheme to work, one needs to keep a low profile. My guess is that quite a few complaints have already been directed to the CA Secretary of State regarding Hammer Corp. And after they identify Casey as a corporate fraud, he'll find it much more difficult to register ownership of a CA corporation in the future.

But once that happens, all he has to do is head to another state and he can start "de nouveau" (pun intended) and find that his record is relatively clean. He will almost certainly be living in another state by this time next year because of this (as well as to avoid arrest warrants in CA).

I'm far more for Galina than against her. I had a g/f whose ex husband was a bit of a KC - he dumped her with half the debt after he left. It took her years to crawl out but she actually paid it all off - and of course he never thanked her or acknowledged it. It wouldn't surprise me if Galina does the same - takes on her load of responsibility and shows she's a "man".... As many have pointed out we know only a little about her through KC himself but these points make me pro - Galina...

1. She gets up earlier - mentioned several times by KC.

2. She has a non - enabling family - rememember her folks stopped bailing her out when she got married?

3. So far she appears to be loyal and faithful - that counts a lot - it shows that she probably is a decent moral person who can face up to what has happened far better than KC.

4. She's working...

5. She's growing balls clearly...

6. Although KC says she maxed out "her" credit cards I wonder really about that... maybe KC was responsible for it partially ("Oh Galina - can you pay for the flights/hotel to Hawaii?). It wouldn't surprise me if she NEVER again touches credit after this shitstorm settles.

Jeez - when I was her age I was no better. Let's give her a break.

Go Galina!

Give her a break? ok....

I know what kind of girl Galina is.

She's the type of girl who'd blow you for a Coach purse.

I'd bet money on it.

I'm not married but I thought that in Cali you are both responsible for all debt, not just half.

People are bringing up G's family. Another thing I was wondering about was why Casey and Galina had to pay for their own wedding (if Casey's telling the truth). Usually the bride's family is on the hook for the lion's share.

Casey said it was a part of his $30K debt of which $15K was a seminar, so he charged less than $15K for the wedding. That's not much for a wedding these days, but still, if they had to pay for it themselves, they could've cut costs and had a small wedding for $1,000 instead of $10,000-$15,000.

But that was when Casey was still pretending to be a big-time RE mogul, before she found out he was "broke as a joke." Instead of being honest and admitting his situation, he not only keeps up the charade but makes it worse by going further into debt.

I wonder how much she can get for the wedding ring.
