Divorce Uzbecki Style

Alright, alright. Mrs. S has shown Mr. S the door to the abyss. Cripes, Casey is so stupid he thinks blogging about it is a good thing. We've all seen it. We can all read between the lines. I'm personally imaging the dinner scene in "The War of the Roses" but everyone is different. Wonder child has no way of surviving on the streets. Galina clearly has no idea of the magnitude. Clearly there have been a lot of lies on Casey's part.

Me, I'm going to listen to a little classic rock and maybe some upbeat jazz. Update: In light of Galina's new career path compatible with her creditwortiness the top picture has been change. Additionally since nigel has his knickers in a bunch and in the interests of our lovely lady readers a little equal time more to their liking.

Interesting how he completely left out that he's borrowed tens of thousands of dollars since he's started the blog.

It's also funny how he counted borrowed money(90k) as some kind of asset.

What a deluded fool. How much money did Casey borrow since the blog started? 40k? 50k? more? That could have lasted him a year and then some but it was gone nearly as soon as it touched his hands.

You know, it kinda makes me wonder if Galina saw the post about how much Casey wished he was single so he could give being homeless a try. Maybe she is just giving him what he wants?

Gotta love Casey's new addition to his post:

Sure you do Casey. Don't sell yourself short man. Look at what you've got to show for all your efforts;

Several hundred thousand dollars of debt.

Horribly trashed credit.

Public records that'll be there forever.

Your wifes horribly trashed credit.

Ruined relationships.

Lost the trust of friends and family.

Lost the trust of your wife.

etc, etc, etc.

He "may" have to jump on right away? Gosh, Casey, you know how much trouble you get into when you're impulsive. You'd better take your time and think it over. After all, your wife who you vowed to take care of is cleaning other people's messes to bring some money in.

I bet G laid down the law after she came back from her first day on the job cleaning a house. I'm sure it's much harder than taking a nap as she's used to doing.

Fer cryin out loud, Snowflake, I know for a fact there's a warehouse in Dixon that's open 24/7. Get a third shift JOB there.

I love how Casey makes it out to be all his wife's fault that he has to get a job. She's making him do it. WTF would he rather do? Oh yeah, he told us already: he would live in a car. Living in a car is such a great alternative to working.

Snowflake has proven himself to be remarkably LART-proof, moreso than anyone else I've met. Nothing short of homelessness, prison time, or divorce (not just the threat of divorce) will get through.

In this latest post his wife says that she's "had enough" of his not working, with what I read as a pretty strong implied threat of divorce, and he says that he just needs to not work a little longer and he'll make it. The guy is pretty much clue-proof. Even Simon Travaglia would throw up his hands in despair and walk away.

BTW - Galina's cleaning houses? No wonder she didn't want to clean the pool. She's been scrubbing other peoples nasty toilets!

Casey:
"What happened is I told her I’m gonna go on a drive to clear my mind and do some thinking and work on my laptop. She asked me to let her know if I stay out late. She supported me taking off for a drive to clear my mind.

I wasn’t sure what I was gonna do exactly but I thought I may spend the night somewhere if I feel like it. I kept driving down the freeway and decided to just keep going to Lake Tahoe. I then called her and to say that I’m in Lake Tahoe and tell her I want spend a night or two.

I should have told her right away that I had tentative plans to go somewhere over night. So in a way, I mislead her. I apologized but that didn’t go over well especially since I tried to call it a business trip.

She is a pretty smart girl. That’s for sure. And lately she is getting to a point where she refuses to put up with my crap."

So you told her you were going on a drive to clear your mind and ended up a hundred miles away spending corporate money on a hotel room and blogging to the world about how much you wish you were out of your marriage. Aha! I think I know why she might be pissed!

There is nothing illegal about taking money out of a corporation as a “draw” or by borrowing from the corporation and paying it back (with proper documentation, etc). That’s what the lawyers told me. I just don’t want to be doing that too much ‘cuz the corp is not making much money yet. So it’s putting us deeper in the hole on a whole new level. The corp will be making money soon enough though.

If you people remember, I posted two weeks ago that G had enough of Snowflake and kicked him out. Remember the big fight at Modesto over the pool? That was the straw that broke the camels' back. Since then, G has been quietly sacking away some $$$ for a divorce. She and Yulia have been working together to get rid of Snowflake. That's why they wanted the rent money upfront, so G can have some money to divorce CS.

Now you know why Snowflake wanted to sell the VDub for a camper. He needs a place to live. My sources say Yulia is not taking him back in, and that G is going to drop dime on him.

Snowflake, you should have turned yourself in while you had the chance to cut a deal. Now with your family saving their own collective asses, there is no need for the various law enforcement agencies to negotiate with you. Did you ask G who her lawyer is? You know she has one, right? You do know that G, her family, and your mom read IAFF, EN, and DHC right?

And, don't think of trying to get those coffee cans of cash. You ever watch "Goodfellas"? Like Henry in that movie, you will not know the feds are watching your every move until they slap the cuffs on you.

I think that G has already dipped into your slush fund anyhow. You have a major world of hurt coming. Funny thing is, you remain totally clueless.

I don't even go to IAFF anymore. Haven't in a few months,no reason to. Between my sources, EN, and calling various people involved, I get more information than you will ever post on IAFF.

@ dawg, what ever happened to that thing about you and some credit pulls?

Rob Dawg said...

Steph, you are so right. You can't make this sh!it up. We can't pull your eyes away. We know what has to happen. Metaphorically we are going down with the ship; Riding the Titanic all the way to the bottom.

Anonymous said...

"Dumbfounded" wondered what Galina's mental state was (ie: dumb, lazy, patient, TMR, lacking self esteem)

I suspect it is/was (was possibly the keyword here) naive, patient and lacking self esteem. Some of the pictures that were up on Caseys flicker pages seem to show her trying to shrink and hide, looking quite uncertain. I suspect Casey was her first, which tends to give a girl rose colored glasses (at least for a while).

I suspect that Galina's involvement in the properties was as the 'details' person.. trying to get the properties renovated with with absolutely no experience doing it and absolutely no help from Casey (the proverbial non-working 'ideas' person, who wants everyone else to put forth the effort for his own gain). Casey was chasing the proverbial shiny object (or next POS property) while Galina had to try to get them sell-able. I did note that at a certain point, she had said enough on doing the work on the properties, and that Casey needed to be responsible for them.

I also saw from the respective images of their parents houses, that Galina came from a better background (house is better kept). Considering all of that, doing people's house cleaning is a serious blow... particularly when her significant other decides to pull a 2 day vacation, while you do dirty work to cover his lazy ass.

From the tone of the post, I get the feeling that Galina is getting pissed-off, but does not get how badly Casey has screwed her future. I also think that Galina does not understand that people only change when they want to (typical naiveté). Talking and promises mean nothing. He has been promising for quite a while now. Change sometimes requires giving someone the boot permanently. Talking, cajoling, arguing doesn't take effect until something is lost(read end of relationship). To be effective, the loss has to be permanent. If Casey feels that he can get away with the appearance of change, he will do it and then revert to old patterns.

My suggestion to Galina would be to talk to a divorce attorney who is also familiar with debt and criminal law. Casey obviously does not care for Galina, only cares for himself, as shown by his actions. Galina needs to find the best way to get out from under this debt and criminal liability (or get as free of it as possible). A friend of mine was in a similar situation, and it took years(more than 10) to clear the portion of debt allocated to her and to clear her credit. Her situation was not as bad as Galina's may be.

I didnt say it made him a good person or rehabilitated his crappy image though...lol He is still what he is.

Anonymous said...

@BJ - Galina's "lacking self esteem" has always been my #1 theory. It is just that as this saga drags on that it gets so convoluted. I now wonder about her complicity in this whole affair. After all, she signed onto everything snowflake did from attending scaminars, to overseeing the contractors, to signing the fraudulent loan docs, to living large off lines of credit and vacationing on the cash back scams.

Anonymous said...

Nice replacement image. Brings back memories of high school and a class project in movie making. There were 4 people in my group, three guys and one girl. Two of the guys took complete control of the project, and wanted themselves to be the stars (villain and hero respectively). The style was to be done along the lines of an old black and white soundless movie, rescuing the damsel in distress. I was to be the butler, oddly the only other girl in the team was to be the maid. The girl to be rescued was imaginary. The 'two' in control wanted us to do a side plot of maid/butler chasing each other. One of the takes had me chasing her to a closet.. then the villain/hero chase goes by the closet. There was a long time between takes and she and I were getting tired of the attitudes of the two 'in control'. She suggested that we try switching clothes (while in the closet) to mess with their minds... suffice it to say, they may have been the stars and in control, but there is a definite difference between an imaginary and real girl (I wonder if they have yet figured that out?).

Looks wise, she was a cross between the girl on that image and Bernadette Peters(when young).. and was in a French Maid costume... ah yes... 8-)

Anonymous said...

Hey, whe did that picture change???

SWEET!

Anonymous said...

@Dumbfounded
Same here. It matches what happened with my friend. Her self esteem was very poor. It seems to prevent the self-preservation from kicking in because they fear the loss of the relationship too much. A person with poor self esteem worries too much about losing the relationship and ignores the fact that if a person really cares, they would not put you in this much jeopardy, nor destroy your future.

I wonder about her complicity too, but she also told him that she no longer wanted to be in on the details of the transactions about 2 houses in. For her, being the details person meant being the one who was getting the houses fixed up. She was not cognizant of the finances after that point, and snowflake was probably projecting it as 'its all good!!'.. using his reality distortion field. Being naive and trusting, she believed him. The problem for her in this, is that naiveté can only go so far, and for a court, it probably has been pushed past normal limits. I think at the start it was naiveté followed by low self esteem that prevented her from getting her ass out.

@Anonymous,
I don't think Galina is in the mood for a come-on right now. Right now, Galina needs 'girlfriends' (no not for that, for moral support and 'girl' talk)... where they kvetch with each other over 'guy' issues.. and to build up a good amount of indignation and support for giving Casey the boot. She is going to need to get a good amount of momentum to take this one on.

Any guy jumping in at this point, will be inheriting all of the problems and her repressed anger... don't want to be there.

Contrary to the stuff that has been posted here and on IAFF there is NOTHING illegal about a corporation lending money to it's sole director/shareholder, or to any other person for that matter, so long as the loan is incidental to the company's business, and so long as the borrower pays a reasonable interest rate on the cash.

There are disclosure rules for public corporations, and there are very strict rules for nonprofit corporations (those rules have been posted frequently and out of context on IAFF), but there's really nothing illegal about what he did.

Stupid, sure. That's nothing new. But not illegal.

Partially true on the corporate credit thing. The key phrase here 'incidental to the company's business'. Some of these Galina-Apologists comments are weird.

"married virtually right out of high school"

Correct me if I'm wrong but she was 21 when she married? That's not right out of high school and afterall, many people do get married at 21 and even younger. Some even while in high school. That is no excuse for Galina.

And saying that Casey was "her first" is laughable in the least.

Girls like G are dime-a-dozen. Go to LA and you'll see thousands of her clones.

She got taken in by her own greed. The only thing she's naive about is how money is made and what's real money and what's falling into a hole. She got suckered by Casey flashing chump-change while he courted her. She's obviously lazy. How many years has she been enrolled in school and yet she's cleaning houses now? I haven't heard much of her past work history. It seems like their isn't any.

She had credit before Casey came along. It doesn't take a genius to know what happens when you live on debt. She knew what she was getting into. Like Casey her greed overpowered her. Like Casey her lazy nature and sense of entitlement let the situation spiral out of control.

Like Casey, she pretty much deserves whatever she gets.

Anonymous said...

@Anonymous

If you had been 'sheltered' all your life, how wise would you be at 21?

And saying that Casey was "her first" is laughable in the least.
That is your speculation, no backing or proof.

She got taken in by her own greed. I didn't say that greed may not have been a factor at the start. But if it was for greed, she would have bailed and gone after an older moneybags the moment Casey started falling forward. Gold diggers will bail at the moment there is even a hint that their 'support' will be failing. They will also bail when the guy's net worth was the greatest, and stick the guy with any debt in the process. There are only there for the money.

The rest of your arguments depend upon her being a gold digger, which tend to fall flat when you look at the fact that she did not bail when things started going south for Casey.

As for her laziness, it seems that she is the only one with 2 jobs.. one of them being a 'housekeeper' just to keep some cash coming in...
Being a housekeeper is not an easy job. Her wage competition will also be from illegals, which means her pay from housekeeping will be real low.

The facts don't seem to match your premise.

Is there some type of Corporation Oversight board in California that people can anonymously report fraudulent activity...?

I'm sure they'd be interested to know that Hammar Investments' purpose is to subsidize vacations and nap time for Casey K. Serin, net worth currently around negative $500,000 ...

@BJ - just how much of a "housekeeper" can she be? After all they are mooching off her sister with no money to buy groceries, etc.

BJ,

When I say "incidental to the company's business" what I mean, specifically, is that the company must exist for some reason OTHER than to make loans. If the only thing it does is lend money, it has to be incorporated as a bank.

It can, in the course of doing busienss, choose to make loans to officers. Lots of very legitmate corporations do this. In many cases, such loans are part of compensation packages.

The quirk is that the corporation must either charge a reasonable market interest rate, OR send you an 1099 for the amount of interest that should have been charged.

At this point, the corporation doesn't have enough history to it for anybody to prove to a legal standard that it is in fact nothing but a shell to allow Casey to borrow money. You and I may know that, but you can't make a case out of it. Casey can still stand up in court and make a somewhat credible case that he did set up the company for a legitimate purpose and that only due to an unexpected emergency was he forced to borrow from it.

Of course, the longer he goes without doing any legitmate business, the less credible he'd get.

And of course, the IRS doesn't need to prove things to quite the same legal standard. The fact that he took money and didn't pay any interest on it would probably force them to consider it all income to Casey, whether he issued himself a 1099 or not.

Or maybe you mean housekeeper as in "maid" for hire.

@dumbfounded

That also makes her about 21 when married.. less likely to know better. She may be getting smarter.. we'll see.

Remember: Casey has managed to convince some people that he is really trying (referencing the really deluded supporters of Casey on his blog), imagine living with that kind of reality distortion field 24/7. I think Galina's coming out of the field now and she is going to be in for one hell of a shock.

About Casey continually borrowing until he is stopped.. I agree. I don't know what is going on with the banks. They need to file a complaint. I do know that the FBI investigates on a damaged party filing a complaint involving more than $5000 (that is their lower limit-no joke). I am wondering if the banks are going to list the loss as greater w/o 1099ing Casey. I saw some indications of a bank doing that somewhere else..

ie: loss on foreclosure being $100,000 but the bank listing it as $200,000. The greater amount allows them to also offset some profits into the pseudo $100,000 additional loss... avoiding taxes on those profits.

Nah, the way I see it, passive/aggressive Casey is trying to ditch her. He posted about being better off with out her. He took off to Tahoe without telling her. Those are the kinds of things you do when you're tired of your girl.

And as others have mentioned, she could get stuck with some of his debt if they divorce.

Win/win.

@BelowTheCrowd

The quirk is that the corporation must either charge a reasonable market interest rate, OR send you an 1099 for the amount of interest that should have been charged.

Or 1099 you for the amount of loan forgiveness. The problem occurs when the sole purpose of the corporate entity is to loan its officer(s) money. Casey can stand up in court and make the claim that he did set up the company for a legitimate purpose, but it is weakened when the only business transactions are loans to himself and in particularly, shortly after it was formed. What also hurts his case is the amount of time he talks on his blog about using the corporate entity to float loans to himself, but does not blog about what he is doing in terms of running it as a corporation. He has blogged about everything else. There are also forms he should be filing with the state/fed for the corporate entity. If those are not being done, while using the corporate entity to take out loans for personal use, it will do a pretty good job of torpedoing his statement that the corporation was for a legitimate purpose.

I also wonder if he is misstating the income/revenue of the entity to be able to get the corporate loans.

BJ, Yeah, 21 is young to get married, but damn. Their scams have cost others hundreds of thousands. Even my teenagers know better than that. Come to think of it, they knew better when they were about 8.

Yeah, Casey may have pulled the wool over G's eyes for a while, but at some point, she decided to either go along with it or put her head in the sand. Either way, I don't have much sympathy for either of them anymore.

Good night. It's rather late here on the east coast

I agree with passive-aggressive, but I don't think he is doing that to ditch her. It may be a passive-aggressive control thing though (make her worry so she forgets he f*cked up). He depends upon her for housing and whatever income she is managing to bring in. He certainly isn't bringing in the Jamba Juice.

If she divorces him and successfully files for bankruptcy, Galina can come out of this OK. She can even go on to have a decent life.

One of my in-laws made some mistakes courtesy of an old boyfriend in her early 20s, got into a pile of debt, and went BK. She then got her act together and went on to get a job, marry, have kids, buy a house, and generally build a good life. It can happen -- IF you get a clue and grow up a little.

I think she new that about scams. I think she put in an honest effort on doing the renovations (she was the only one with the clipboard and talking to the contractors it seems.. Casey just wanted to have her do all of the heavy lifting).

I do think that she may have done the head in the sand act later on. My only sympathy is because I know what will happen later on (divorce or no divorce), and that the primary person responsible is the one who vowed to honor... etc. when taking the marriage vows.

Naiveté, excess patience and particularly low self esteem can really bite when one you trust uses it against you..

@Sprezzatra
Divorce and bankruptcy is a big if. Depends upon which state and the judge. The judge may not be that lenient (with all of the misstatement etc). Her name is on some of the papers involved, and her credit was used.

I definitely agree with this:
"... and generally build a good life. It can happen -- IF you get a clue and grow up a little."

For those of you who don't have a clue where Casey and Galina are coming from, and why their perspectives are so screwed up, you might want to read this:

http://www.latimes.com/search/la-me-russgay13oct13,0,6224726.story?page=1

The article is overly focused on issues between Gays and the Russian immigrants in the Sacramento area, but it is the best I've seen as far as explaining where they're coming from.

To quote a few key sections:

After a wave of religious refugees that began coming here in the late 1980s, Sacramento now has one of the largest Russian-speaking populations in North America: an estimated 80,000 to 100,000 Slavic immigrants, community members say. They came primarily from the Ukraine, Georgia, Belarus and the other southern Soviet republics, and settled mostly in Sacramento's northern and western suburbs.

These immigrants are different from their Russian-speaking counterparts in New York's Brighton Beach, San Francisco's Richmond district or West Hollywood...

The Sacramento community, on the other hand, is overwhelmingly evangelical — Baptist and Pentecostalist. The charismatic Pentacostal church, introduced in the Ukraine in the 1920s by missionary and martyr Ivan Efimovich Vornaev, includes speaking in tongues and washing of feet. The churches' social views are based on a literal interpretation of the Bible...

"The main issues in the Russian community here," said Vitaly Prokopchuk, a Sacramento County sheriff's deputy, "are gay issues, abortion issues and family-definition issues. To these people, these issues are very cut-and-dry in the Bible..."

Before emigrating, many of the refugees learned about Sacramento from two sources: a short-wave fundamentalist religious radio program, "Word to Russia," that originated here, and a Russian-language newspaper, Our Days, that was printed in Sacramento and distributed to underground churches in the Soviet Union. A local Russian Baptist church persuaded several Sacramento evangelical churches to sponsor the refugees...

Michael Lokteff, 69, is a former high school teacher who was the voice of the "Word to Russia" broadcasts into the Soviet Union. A cheerful, white-haired lay Baptist who takes a glass of wine with his meals, Lokteff said that many of the immigrants were unprepared for culturally laissez-faire California.

In part, Lokteff blames his own broadcasts, which he said left the listeners with the impression that America, and particularly Sacramento, was a Christian bastion.

"They even thought my program was government-sponsored," Lokteff said. "They came here expecting a Christian commune, and all of a sudden the first thing they see is a gay parade..."

And, surprise surprise, Casey and Galina are married at 21. Neither has any real prospects and by all indications they don't even know each other all that well. She, of course, already wants kids. Neither is aware of, and most likely both have been brought up in households that don't quite get the reality that getting married and trying to start a family at anything under 30 in California is virtual financial suicide these days.

Casey is almost religiously, fantatically focused on the opportunities his "maker" give him, regardless of talent. Galina is a good wifey, following her husband off a financial cliff like the Bible tells her to while she waits for him to give her babies. And the people around them are all from the same background, all just as culture shocked, and just as clueless. None of them knew enough to stand up and tell them: "Make something of your lives before you make these commitments." The notion is entirely alien to them.

And yeah, he probably was her first, and she his. It would fit the pattern.

Culture shock can be a bitch.

Notice once again How Casey says she will drop him IF he doesn't get a job, as if she is still entertaining the thought of sticking by him. She is saying what she needs to to get the lazy butt munch to get a freakin' job already and pay some bills. Remember how she told him do whatever you can to save my credit (so I can dump your murse like ass and move on).
Man cleaning toilets, though I wouldn't be above letting her clean my pipes...but to go from trips to hawaii jet setting having 90K of money to do with as you please...to cleaning others people's shit? Poetic justice I say, we are gonna be stuck with the bill paying off their shit.
As for the corp loan thingy, gee did we guess right on that or what? Unlike his personal debt, the feds and even the state are going to be looking a little bit closer at these shennanigins and are less likely to let it slide. Otherwise everybody would be doing it.
As for his book, it'll be a tell all on how to profit by crime, what's the title gonna be "If I WAS to commit mortgage fraud here is how I would go about it?"
By admitting on his blog that things are going kinda bad, does he not realize that the feds are saying
"Looks like we got are state witness fellas!"
"Who the balding cherubim?"
"No he is on the roster as well, nah, the babushka. Give her a get out of jail card, give her like 10K to do her nails, and she'll be singing like pube head when he hears casey is coming to town"

The IAFF post is down at the moment; here's the full text from Google for those who missed it:

Galina Serin: Enough is Enough!

This has been a pretty tough weekend emotionally. Galina, my wife of 3 years pretty much told me that she has had enough of this financial mess and my “irresponsible behavior”. Paying rent by borrowing from the corporation along with the brainstorming trip to Tahoe was the last straw.

I don’t blame her. We have NEVER really had financial stability in our marriage. Sure there was the time when our bank account peaked at $90 grand from the property cash backs sometime around April 2006. However, the repair cost overruns and the $20k/month burn rate on 6 properties and related bills ate through that sum pretty quickly.

And then instead of admitting that I’m in trouble and pulling the plug, I kept borrowing more and more via additional credit lines to keep feeding the machine a couple of extra months. I thought if I can finish the repairs and sell everything I can pay it all back. Then in August 2006 I ran out of money and started this blog

Let’s rewind further to the beginning of the marriage. I did make $35K from my condo sale in 2003 (mostly ‘cuz of appreciation), by the time we got married in April 2004, that money ran out. I bought the ring on a credit card and we went into debt paying for the wedding and honeymoon. Then we impulsively moved 90 miles away to Lake Tahoe. I had small website design / hosting business. I thought it can support us there.

My internet business wasn’t going that well and after 6 months living on credit cards I got a W2 job at Pride Industries as a Web Developer / Programmer so we moved back to Sacramento area. The job was good but we had a bunch of debt and I desperately wanted to pay it off to and get back on track toward my financial independence goal. That’s when we started going to RE investing seminars in late 2004 and started doing deals in October 2005.

After making $30K on the first deal and paying off all our debt, I jumped the gun and quit my Programming job in Jan 2006 to do real estate flipping full-time. Looking back, I quit that job too early!! I should have stayed and done deals on the side until the real estate business can reliably replace my job income. But because I was doing too many cash-back-at-close deals I got a little ahead of myself.

The equity that I juiced up from the properties was a false sense of profit. Yeah, if everything would have gone perfectly with the repairs and the resale I would have come out ahead. Depending on a perfect plan (or lack thereof) without a plan B was a disaster waiting to happen.

I’ve been trying to unsuccessfully stop foreclosure for the last 9 months hoping to put together some kind of a creative turnaround (a miracle?). I thought I was doing the right thing by avoiding bankruptcy and trying to pay back the lenders. I tried a bunch of different things but none of them seemed to come through.

Along the way, I had a tech job offer fall through. I was later offered a real estate related consulting job but I was so bogged down by everything else going on (including this blog) that I didn’t take it that seriously. Then I’ve been doing some odd jobs there and here but not stable enough.

Even my friend Ramit of I will Teach You To Be Rich called me the other day and told me to stop messing around, declare BK, get a solid job that puts money in my pocket today and stop chasing tomorrow’s opportunities. He thinks I should delete the thousand emails in my inbox because most of them are probably scams. I thanked him for being direct and giving me some good advice.

Aside from finances, Galina is understandably frustrated with following me along toward MY dream of passive income / financial independence. I’ve been at it since 2000 and don’t have much to show for it yet. She is tired of my entrepreneurial roller-coaster and is ready to settle down and have a family. I don’t want to think about it until I reach my goal. Am I being too selfish?

It’s amazing to think that we’ve been more or less living on credit since January 2006. That’s over 13 months! I have a lot of good things going but it’s taking a while and I’m suffering from a lack of focused action in any one direction. I feel like it’s right there within reach. I just need to get my act together and survive a little bit longer. Some stable income might be good right now to buy me some time and create much needed stability.

Basically Galina said I must get some kind of stable income right now… or else. Her patience with me has run out. “Enough is enough!”

[That action plan and the mailing list update will have to wait until I get this fire taken care of. I have some job opportunities for part time or flexible full-time work that I may have to jump on right away.]

[Forgot to mention… Galina is looking for a full time job too and is cleaning houses on the side already to make extra income.]

By the way, I think Casey was REALLY ready to go on the lam. You know, American outlaw, running around the US with his notebook to tell of his adventures before they catch up to him. That's why he REALLY misled his wife, he was gonna leave her high and dry like he said he wanted to do. More than likely, he went to Lake tahoe, bet on red the last grand he had, lost, and went simpering home.

Anonymous said...

BJ,

I don't disagree.

Casey has alluded to the fact that the corporation will be making money soon.

I remain doubtful, but suspect he is probably doing something else with it.

The fact that his activities result in further disaster won't change the legal fact that in the end the corporation's primary activity will have been something other than this loan, or at the very least that Casey will be able to create some reasonable doubt around the reason for the company's existence.

That said, the tax issues are already real. He's apparently filed with the Secretary of State, because their website shows the corp as active.

Other than that, he does need to get a taxpayer ID, which is easy enough to do and is free. If he pays himself salary, he will need to get a California EDD account number immeidately after paying his first $100 in wages. And of course he'll need to take care of all the right withholding, etc. But those will only happen if/when he's able to pay salary.

Also, he probably will file a request to be taxed under subchapter S (ie, to be an S-corp. That's certainly not mandatory, but if he doesn't, he'll get double taxed on those "draws" of his. (More properly refered to as dividend distributions.)

Sprezzatura,

Thanks. Didn't want to come off as anti-Christian, anti-Russian or anything else like that, but I worked with a company with a major Sacto presence about a decade ago, and had a lot of the Russian immigrants there. It was one of the weirdest (and most oppressive) environments I ever encountered and was glad to be based elsewhere. I remember thinking at the time that these people are coming from some weird alternate dimension, and also remember thinking that if their kids actually followed the beliefs and lifestyles they seemed to adhere to, that they'd all end up broke and on welfare before they were 30.

Guess what? Casey and Galina are their kids. And they're fulfilling my worst nightmares.

Wow, a day of not checking EN and fliptard posts some more insanity.

Galina - about time.

Unlike fliptard, I've been gently reminded by my superiors to take some time off for legitimate reasons. A year of not taking time off, accruing way too much PTO, getting stressed at work dealing with risk and project management, and generally babysitting adults at work... has finally gotten to me.

So I am taking a driving trip through Gold Country, visiting historic towns, snapping photos. Woo-hoo! Grabbed a bunch of Gatorade and breakfast bars from the supermarket, and a bunch of maps from AAA this afternoon. Should be relaxing. Windows down, cruising through the windy roads, tunes playing. Good times.

And if I ever pulled that "driving down the road and ending up overnight in Tahoe" crap, it would never fly with any woman I'd be dating at the time.

So, Nigel Smarmy, you just couldn't wait to post a "look Rob Dawg got it wrong" could you? You just rushed in like a non-award winning journalist and went "look EN got it wrong" without checking the details. The story originated on IAFF. The accuracy was doubted from the start on here. Apart from when you have been in touch with CS, have you ever been ahead of the field? Or is it true you're just a link-whore with too much time on your hands and not a lot of real estate work? You think you'd be really busy what with RE booming at 20% a year in SLC. Or is that a Caseyism? Have you fallen prey to the disease? Have you caught some rare virus off Casey such that you think RE is a forever booming, no-risk, easy road to passive income, sweet deals, win-win lifestyle? Or do you sit around the office with time on your hands because there isn't much happening in reality and what there is requires a grown-up to do the work?

Just think.

Casey made Galina quit school to work.

Casey "supervised" Galina as she copied CDs.

Casey never, ever consults Galina about anything.

Casey basically scammed Galina, waiting until their wedding day to spill the beans that he was "broke as a joke." He distracted her with shiny things and he doesn't tell her the truth--ever. He doesn't treat her any differently than he treats us. He can't.

I think Galina has been cleaning houses since she quit college. I think she's been working her ass off while Casey's been sitting on his ass and taking naps.

That's why he's become so damn forthcoming--because she's had it and is willing to tell the truth about it.

Good for her.

I don't think so.

If Galina was working in "the business" she'd be pulling in a lot of money, and they wouldn't have difficulty paying their rent.

However, even cleaning houses for a pittance, I can't see Galina giving her wages to Casey and not paying any rent to her sister. Perhaps Galina spends her wages on food.

Anyway, this latest admission by Casey shows us just how economical he is with the truth, even to his wife. I forgot where I heard it, but the saying is that a lie starts out small but it grows and grows, more lies being needed to prop up the first lie, until the liar becomes unable to remember who has been told what.

This is Casey's "openness". If Galina hasn't been working, then he has just lied. If she has been working, then his previous refusal to tell us that she was working for a wage is deceit by omission. If he had said "Galina's got a job now" when she started working, the haterz would have said "Oh good, but what about you" and then Casey would be put on the spot as both lazy and contemptible. His wife works, but he sleeps in - sometimes all day.

I suspect Casey held back on the good news of Galina working to avoid bruising his delicate ego and to create more controversy on the blog - more controversy means more hits. But now, naturally, things have come to a head. Posting about Galina threatening to leave him will surely bring in more traffic. Itsallgood. Itsallgood.

It's easy to feel utter contempt for Casey. He deserves it. But there are a lot worse people than him around. Casey didn't murder anybody; he's not a drug pusher (well, we assume not), he's more like Inspector Clouseau than the master criminal.

We're nearing the end of a pathetic story.

I've given up believing anything he posts, it's better for your health and blood pressure.

I will say that I've known people like shithead - they cannot tell the truth, ever - even if they tell you a little truth, they embellish it for their own reasons. Dealing with people like this is time consuming and frustrating, even casually.

I'm a bit burned out trying to dechipher what is real and what is made up, I'll leave that to the others here. There's no payoff or any way to verify what we surmise - a fun game for a minute, but long term I have better things to do.

I was waiting for this post, truth to be told, it falls in line with my "As The Worm Naps" soap opera theory of mine, that the blog has been a clumsy piece of fiction for a while now, ever since shithead discovered that there was no pile of gold to be found there. I'm sure he throws in enough reality to make it sound real, but for the most part it's BS.

Sorry, but I'm not buying it. It all just reeks of Casey's complete lack of imagination - the *easy* idea is the "Galina is/might be throwing me out" - as a plot twist it's obvious and clumsy and heavy-handed. If shithead had talent one, it never would have been posted. His lies are getting so tangled that even he's losing track.

My prediction: There will be "bright and shiny" posts the rest of the week, or none at all, and then next week there will be another "Crisis Of The Week", posted Monday or Tuesday. Yes, he's getting *that* predictable.

PS - Fuck Nigel. I can't believe any of you pay any attention to him anymore. The sad queen is living up to his true nature of a bottom feeder by trolling for Haterz from Casey, because he has nothing else. How pathetic is that? Want to piss off the old queen? Take the little attention he gets by ignoring him, he'll stamp his feet and troll comments about Robert's weight, his DUI, and call him a liar, just like the little boy he is.

No, Casey didn't pre-announce the Tahoe vacation. He posted at 1:30 AM, already there and hyped up for action.

So we have only his word for it that he misled his wife. And what an incriminating word it is.

Funny thing is, 6 days later Casey still hasn't written up the Action Plan which he was going to do at Lake Tahoe. I just don't understand it. He went away to write an Action plan, spent hours on the phone to a ghostwriter, came back 2 days later and still doesn't have an Action plan.

That explains why Nigel is a blogger and not a journalist. :)

He also doesn't know the difference between "alternate" and "alternative" - despite it being pointed out to him several times by more than one person.

Mind you, I can imagine how his mental gears are processing this one: "If I change it to 'An Alternative Take', that means the haterz put one over on me, but if I leave it as it is, I run the risk of looking stupid. So which is easier to live with?"

Ladies and gentlemen (as M.SINGH might say), you have your answer.

I actually went to Nigel "Sloppy Party Bottom" Swaby's site, something I'd never done before.

My god, what a tool he is.

I may have to nominate him for NetKook of teh Year (if Casey doesnt sweep the awards).

My weight? Oh, the one picture. We all pushed out our chests and pulled back our heads so you could read the t-shirts. Like most middle-aged Americans I could stand to loose 15lbs but I still fit in the same tux I bought 18 years ago. Thanks for caring Nigel.

@Rob Dawg

I would'nt sweat it, Nigel "Size Queen" Swaby has nothing else but personal attacks - the more he trolls and attacks the more poodle-in-the-window he appears, it's quite amusing.

PS - i have to agree, Niven's books are hardly obscure. :) My adult beverage of choice is Irish Coffee, thanks to his instructions and near-obsession with them.

Have you read John Varley? I just picked up his last two books, he's as good as or almost as good as Heinlein and Niven, in fact i see him as a near-perfect melding of the two, even if Varley is almost 180 degrees away from both politically.

Galina is looking for a full time job too and is cleaning houses on the side already to make extra income.

Extra income? As if they have any income.

I doubt she's been cleaning houses all along since quitting school (as someone wrote but I can't find the post now), or that she's been cleaning houses for very long at all.

I think she probably just got hired, and maybe has worked one or two days if at all.

She doesn't strike me as the hard-working type.

And he would've bragged that she's working long ago. Remember the "we've been working all along" crap? Cleaning houses is nothing to brag about, but neither is copying CDs and he bragged about that.

Casey has a habit of counting chickens before they're hatched: calculating his wages based on one hour of work, for example.

How much can she be making cleaning houses? I'd imagine it's $10/hr or less, and probably only a day or two a week -- he said it's "on the side" (on the side of what? Nothing!), which means she's probably still doing nothing most days.

At least she's willing to humble herself and do honest work, though.

As for his post, there was about three or four paragraphs of new stuff, and the rest the same rehashed story. Why does he continually feel the need to tell his entire story?

He's like a has-been band that just churns out best-of compilations to fulfill their contract instead of releasing new material.

Re:
>>Have you read John Varley?<<

Varley! TITAN-WIZAR%D-DEMON trilogy! Oh yeah. What a 15-hour movie that would make, although book 3 would have to be rated XXX because of the naked giant Marylyn Monroe having sex with King Kong and then getting exploded. Too bad about the Millennium movie, though. Disaster. And Varley scripted it himself!

I must admit to having entirely lost the plot about Casey And His Big Adventure, and I can't work up enough interest to actually read through last week's enormous pile of posts. I'll pretend that stuff isn't important and I'll pick it up from today. Or not.

Anon 7:37: You're right, shades of truth, mostly lies, very predictable. I also have a hard time believing that this is the 1st time his wife has said this. All of the houses are out of his hands, so you gotta find new drama somewhere. It'll be a while before any legal action is taken so he'll need to fill the dead air.

Milton's: You're also right. I vowed never to check his site again so I couldn't get my own facts straight. The only things we do know about him is what he feeds us through his narrow little window of a blog, and you can guess how accurate that is.

I'd rather just skip to the end of this story anyway.

I just posted this on Nigel's blog:

Nigel,

As far as any of us know, you could be involved with that Robert Cote Sux site. It has you written all over it.

Has Rob blamed you for it? No, he hasn't. HIS READERS do. Can you not see the difference? Maybe somebody from Camp Idiot started it to make both you and Rob look bad, who knows?

Blogging is NOT journalism and thus you are not a journalist either. Please get over yourself.
