A Tale of Derivative Blogs

If this keeps up Casey will let people discover they just don't care enough to visit anymore.

I am never even close to first, until today. I agree, I'm tired of Casey. I usually post under "Dick" and I was a daily reader of Casey-but I've had enough of the farce that it has become.

I HAVE A DERIVATIVE BLOG and I'm proud of it! Just can't seem to get Murst around here.

Anonymous said...

Dang even late at night (EST), no murst for me! I'm not really sure why IAFF has as much traffic as it does these days, it jumped the shark when Casey did the dancing clown routine.

Akubi said...

Does that silly graph mean anything anyway?

I'm proud to be as derivative as I want to be.

Oh look there's you problem; see 4th row 2 column the memory core wire is broken.

I did this in high school:
Location Contents Opcode Comment
001000 012700 mov #1,r0 Load 1 into R0
001002 000001
001004 006100 rol r0 Rotate R0 left
001006 000005 reset Initialise bus (70ms)
001010 000775 br .-4 Loop back to 'rol r0'

[Made the lights on the PDP-11/40 chase.]

Yeah, if Casey keeps it suspended, and then comes back with his subscription plan, he's f&*ked. Hell, he's already f&*ked and he doesn't know (or just wishes to completely ignore it).

I see a cute kitty taking a nap in the green part of the ExUrb log and a scary purple reaper at the top, but not nearly as dead as the purple reaper on the left.

From Camp Idiot:

"About IAFF, The people we lease the server from have been gracious enough to let us eat up more than our allowed CPU cycles while we are waiting for the dedicated box. I suggested to Casey we temporarily remove the comments from the posts until we can switch to dedicated, he didnt want to, so the account got suspended since the whole server got overrun.

See there are 4 other people on this box guaranteed 20% of the CPU, the hosting company cant allow one account to hog the whole thing. The site wont be back up until either the dedicated box is ready, or we temporarily pull those 300 comment pages.

I'll leave this up to Casey for now since I have real business to attend to."

You know, this is not the first time Snowflake's changed servers by any means, and it's not like it was unplanned. You'd think that by now he would've learned to avoid problems by waving a dead chicken over his DNS settings a few days ahead of time.

@Rob Dawg

Let me guess, the University of Sydney (Australia) was so impressed by your work in high school that they published the program on their website

http://www.psych.usyd.edu.au/pdp-11/11_40.html

You can't even setup a forum and you expect us to believe that you were writing Assembler in high school?

What a poser!

Akubi said...

Forgot to mention the green blob on the left looks like some garbage KC forgot to take out. Rorschach tests are fun!
I hate Vista though.

Rob Dawg said...

Actually Anon 7:53 I learned that trick in the research labs at Digital Equipment Corporation where they also showed us how to write some really primitive self modifying code using tokenized Basic. Rather than make ignorant accusations of poseuring you could have asked about the circumstances. What, you thought I saved and/or memorized 32 year old toggle entry code fragments for an antique? Get a life. I just remembered a few amusing events of decades past and decided to share. Of course I googled "pdp-11/40" just like you reversed googled a fragment of the cut-n-paste. It may be geeky to remember stupid light tricks but it is just plain creepy that you have a problem with that.

Akubi said...

Lou,
Casey is an idea/non-detail/guy. It's not his problem like just about everything else.
He does have a real knack for PR though.

Akubi said...

Assembler code is boring old fart crap not worth discussing.

Akubi, damn straight lady. I really sucked at it and never even got the hang of "C" for that matter. I have friends and contractors for that. My meager skills are in concept design. All those years of mathy stuff still come in useful from time to time. Enough of the old dudes on the porch stuff Grey's Anatomy is on in 40 minutes and I still have to mow the driveway.

You guys (Dawg, Akubi etc) may laff at ASM but one of my most commercially successful products (built for my employers) had a code limit of 256 bytes. It broke well and truly the record for $/byte - nothing you could get close to in C much less the bloated c++/C# style coding.

Oh - by the ways - Dawg - you're cool. I don't give a shit about forums either. If you have them this place will just turn into another CI or WFT forum/board - full of truly vile folk with their bigotry.

Hi!

Jeeze. Look what I miss when I work my looser job all day.

So this isn't just a case of young Casey's mad skillz is it?

Hey do you want to know something really funny? My work computer won't let me onto the DHC site due to "questionable content" and telling me to contact IT if I think it should be allowed.

:)

Site Meter logs always look that way at the beggining of every month as the graph represents 3 days for May, not 30.

I'm still convinced that the 7000 visitors a day is really around 900 visitors averaging 7+ clicks a day each.

When you minus all the bots and other sniffing devices on the net, it's probably more like 700 a day.

So monetize what? Yuba city gets more traffic.

Anonymous said...

Alright, I don't know if this was observed or not, but it is quite interesting the 'auto max' v axis label is equal in both graphs. Exurban has done very well for what it is.

Anonymous said...

Interesting...

All this brainstorming isn't going to make IAFF magically reappear.

Here's a thought - Casey cooked this whole load up from the comfort of his ugly Ikea living room on Snapdragon Lane, and when he realized the whoe thing was going to shit before his eyes, realized that CI was giving him an out with a server overload.

This story ended when Modesto got foreclosed. Actually he was so lame about everything for a couple weeks before that that I'd pretty much lost interest by the time he was shoving that stick in the green monster.

So basically, I'll hang, post here and there. But I do believe this story has come to an end. I still think some stuff may happen, not much interesting - but it will be fun to see how Casey and Nigel duke it out with foreclosure sites. I wish them a HELL of a lot of luck hehehehehe...

Anonymous said...

BTW is Nigel letting all comments through? He must've realized that all the comments were negative and just went with it. Or as one commenter said "Strategy shifting, stand by"

At 9:23 PM, TK said...

"...This story ended when Modesto got foreclosed."

Actually, I PREDICT that there will be major Drama eventually around the Utah wrap. It will be the ironic full-circlejerk when the buyers find themselves unable to service their debt to Casey. Lots of legal complications due to the fact that Casey failed to perform his contractural duty to the original lenders regarding the due on sale clause. Will he be forced to foreclose on them?

By the way, in Mythology, Cassandra had the gift of unerring prophecy--but also the curse that no one would believe her.

Akubi said...

Honestly, if I didn't work looser jobs my whole life I'd probably be even crazier than Casey.

Akubi said...

PMSPMS,
I hate those damn limits. So last century! I get so angry and pissed about everything with such regularity, I've enjoyed the chuckles the Haterz have brought to my cubey reality.
Unlike George W, I don't hate Casey personally, but I hate what he represents, so it's more manageable.

Anonymous said...

Cassandra,

I've got a weird feeling you might be Casey... So unerring prophecy isn't really prophecy if you are the one with plans to carry out.

Legal complications, lost payments yada yada. Casey doesn't have the funds for any legal wrangling. He can foreclose on them, but invariably, he'll be foreclosed upon.

Typical Casey story too if you read Nigey's take - Had the chance to sell, now surrounded by a bunch of reallllly expensive properties and asking too much. Now carrying costs are starting to bog them down.

Akubi said...

I noticed Cassandra had to say "...but also the curse that no one would believe her."

Anonymous said...

TK,

I'm searching for a graceful way to tell you that it's kind of an insult that you think I am Casey.

The only way I can think of to prove that I am not Casey is to make a clear, unambiguous statement(something Casey is not known for) : I am not Casey.

My predictions are good, but only because Casey's behavior patterns are utterly predictable.

Anonymous said...

I think the next chapter is going to be more about divorce than real estate or finance.

Will this hold our attention?

I think a few people will stick around out of morbid curiousity, but the masses will leave for greener pastures.

A lot of us are cashed out of RE and looking for helpful investment information. We know the value of the dollar is decreasing at an alarming rate and we want to protect and possibly grow what little we have.

I think most people are done with the drama and now want to figure out how to use the information we have gained thru bubble blogs to our advantage.

Casey no longer provides even a cautionary tale.

First off who the fuck would want to do business with Casey? Why are YOU pointing business clients to this kid? You must really want to hurt your reputation even further don't you?

Oh and the only idiot I see is the one starting useless blogs with zero participation, lame commentary and overall a crappy attitude.

Next time try not to lump all of us in one camp OKAY? You get mighty pissed when one or two anonymous critics rip you but don't you think it pisses off innocent "haters" who are only criticizing Casey for the flake that he is?

Fucking moron. Get a clue because you apparently don't have one.

Does Snowflake not understand that people can search "foreclosure" in Google, then scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "Dissatisfied with our results" link?

If people reported his page as non-functioning at that link, it would probably impact his search engine position.

Dangerous and stupid, right up his alley. Thinking about it, that also describes Nigel.

Anonymous said...

Two observations: firstly, a prolonged site outage will do bad things to Snowflake's Google rankings (unless he's aiming for the "i am facing site suspension" market). Secondly, what are the chances he's made a recent backup of his database? It'd be highly amusing if IAFF comes back up on a "dedicated" server with the most recent entry dating from February or so.

As of 9:30am GMT the IAFF domain still resolves to the current IP (66.40.8.164), which appears to belong to a hoster called LiquidNet (itsallwet).

ratlab said...

I was dissatisfied that when I searched "foreclosure" on Google, IAFF came up, even though IAFF is a suspended site. I reported that to Google.

Anonymous said...

For anyone interested, IAFF is back up and running.

What's up with that Tahoe picture, with the vertical stripes? A reflection of the cheap blinds in the hotel room?

Yeah, G, if she applies herself, might make a decent photographer someday. Certainly, accounting has been right out for quite a while.

As predicted by someone else, I bet he hasn't deleted them, he's lost them off his old server.

Anonymous said...

That moron. Why does he think anyone will care to read his story - even if it starts with his modest upbringing and early entrepreneurial excursions? The guy is a total failure! If he were a success, such would be an interesting story. I wonder if the part where they "massage" the text will be the part where they make up interesting stuff?

I wonder if Nigel has called Casey to ask about his portrayal in the book?

I don't need to read about some 24 year old kid who wound up in a heap of debt cause he wouldn't work - especially one who doesn't at least have a minor meth habit or drinking problem.

How delusional is this kid?

We anyway, the server thing has solved a problwm of his - how much negative stuff was attached to the site. Now he can start at square one - clean slate for his next big failure in business.

Anonymous said...

About the vertical stripes in the Tahoe Pic. This was taken through a window, presumably one that hasn't been cleaned in a while.

I suspect the missing posts are (as I speculated) due to Slowflake having restored the site from an older backup. I might be wrong though.

Yahoo terms and conditions for it's having its ads on your site states that "you are a US-based business and you are operating Your Site and/or Your RSS Feed solely for viewing and use by users within the US; "

I did a little googling about that, and discovered that yahoo will make him BLOCK all non-US viewers from viewing his site now since he has yahoo ads. I wonder if he knows that.

Anyone else look at Casey's Flickr photostream? Judging from the height of his room and the Sweet Lake View, I'd have to say he grabbed a room at a resort. Hardly staying on the cheap. Notice the Starbucks cup? What an asshole. So he drove to Tahoe so he could waste money on a resort hotel to talk on the phone with his publisher and drink Starbucks while it pissed rain for two days. Success!

Greetings friends-

With much pain, I have read a few of the Casey posts at Camp Idiot, and I believe one possible explanation of the missing posts is that those posts had so many comments and page views, they were therefore removed to reduce CPU usage. Just a thought....

PS Nigel: Does Casey mind you sharing phone conversations on your blog? Eh--- scratch that; I hate you.

Anonymous said...

I'm clicking now.

Secondly, what are the chances he's made a recent backup of his database? It'd be highly amusing if IAFF comes back up on a "dedicated" server with the most recent entry dating from February or so.

IAFF is back up, and all posts after 15-April are missing.

Some of you Mofos are absolutely prescient.

"I suggested to Casey we temporarily remove the comments from the posts until we can switch to dedicated, he didnt want to, so the account got suspended since the whole server got overrun."

More typical Snowflake Selfishness™ - this is the running theme for shithead's life. He *always* chooses the blog over everything else. He accepted a very generous gift of free bandwidth, and fucked CI over when they asked a favor in return.

I have a confession to make...I'm a Netkook voyuer. I've been online forever, and witnessed the alt.pets invasion, the alt.destroy.the.earth madness, and have watched several kook stories over several years, in various forums. Casey is just another Internet Kook who's 15 minutes fo fame are rapidly coming to a close. As a Netkook, he's harmless, as his idiocy only effects himself, I've watched other Netkooks sue other posters (and get their Netkook asses handed to them in court), and they are far more dangerous.

I think this time, tho, I'll stick around here. I like the folks here, it's a good hang, even when shithead fades into the obscurity he deserves.

Go and write a book, Casey, it's more idelwork to avoid facing your responsibilities. I tend to doubt you have an agent of any quality, nor can I see you writing any book of any merit, as all you've accomplished is wasting people's time, money, defrauded banks, freeloaded off everyone you come into contact with, lied, cheated, stole, whined, cried, and let houses rot because you were too lazy. There's a book in all of that? Unless it's a parody of how real estate investors whould act...I don't see it. I'm sure whatever you come up with will be just like the rest of your life: made up, pompous, fictional, lacking any style or content, and ultimately a waste of time.

Slackers make good characters (like the roomate in Shaun of the Dead), but not good biographys or authors of any kind of help book.

I'm sure you feel all important and grown up with this "agent" you refer to, but I know the publishing world, and I know bottom dwelling scum suckers abound there, too. I hope you had a lawyer read any contracts you signed with said agent, but knowing you, you signed all your rights away when the agent (if they exist) flashed a few shinies in front of you.

Hmmm. I think PRLinkBiz would be interested that you have an agent. Did you show your "agent" the contract you signed?

I'll bet you did't, you NEVER tell the *whole* truth.

LOL.

One last question, Casey. How is your relationship with your father? Was he overbearing? Didnt get enough attention as a child? Is this all a feeble attempt to *show* your father you're not the worthless, lazy braggart you are? Is this all a cry for attention from your father? Hmmm?
