Ouch California Prices
You know the old joke about only watching public televison? Well I was watching PBS and they had this fascinatiing segment on the housing bubble. Here, here, and here.
From the info:"And only one out of seven households in the state can afford the median-priced house."
Can someone explain how CA got so far outside historical fundamentals and SUSTAINED this ratio? I know exotic mortgages have delayed paying the piper, but sooner or later the market will have to revert or wages have to catch up.
There's no way housing can defy the force of gravity forever...can it?
My son called this week and said one of his buds just entered the ranks of FB. He works in SF and bought a house in Petaluma for somewhere in the neighborhood of $800k. Combined household income is about $120k.
We know the stats for NOD's, but has anyone run the numbers on how many FB'ers are one illness away from ruin?

I guess Casey is banking on his lenders having the same attitude he had about Aaron Lomax. They failed to do their due diligence and they'll figure it won't be worth it to go after him. Looks like he did learn something after all.
On principle alone I'd have thrown good money after bad to screw that Lomax to the wall. Notice that right after the Lomax comment, he felt the need to post his traffic spike to show everybody that nobody gets the better of Casey Serin for long.
Nigey trying to broker a little shady deal with the help of his company and do a "favor" for a developer with a little 'extra inventory' at the same time (*cough* KICKBACK)? I'd be quite curious to know precisely what Casey would have brought to the table in this situation? I mean he'd already been turned down for another loan at this point with a foreclosure already on his credit report. You knew he was in it up to his eyeballs. What was the purpose of showing Casey homes in Salt Lake? He did comment on both homes that he was after a SWEET DEAL. How would you facilitate that Nigel?
Since Nigel is bashing Casey after the deal fell through (that RV thread was a real show stopper, Nigel), why not answer to these charges? For the sake of your reputation I'd strongly suggest you put these rumors to rest.
Ladies & Gents: in the last thread someone posted the name of the attorney in Sacramento who handles Cashcall's lawsuits.
Am I the only one thinks he'd appreciate receiving a link to this blog & CS's? Especially the calls CS recorded with the Cashcall agent where he lied about his income & expenses? And perhaps the link that shows CS purports to be flush again with a new line of credit.

I don't know if its the fact that I am so busy trying to buy a house of my own or that the Casey trainweck has just lost alot of the interest it had to me but I just haven't been keeping up with his blog at all lately.
It really peeved me off yesterday though when I stopped by and he was actually asking for people to email him that he had helped. Who has he helped besides himself?
I know I am like alot of you that are just waiting for R-Boy and Homey to finish up their investigations. I can't wait for the day they nail his butt to the wall. If that day doesn't come I am going to be really disappointed with our justice system.
Checked out your website, wish you the best. Don't feel bad about getting a job that you don't think pays much, everyone starts off that way. Unlike Casey who feels he is to above a regular job, you are doing what you can, and you WILL gain some kind of skills from doing it. There are a lot of pretty knowledgeable people in this blog when it comes to real estate, and if Casey had even listened once to these people he may have avoided a lot of grief.

I would much prefer to work with and partner an anesthesiologist who spent $150,000 on his/her "accredited" college education and had passed their board exams, than someone who went to a "guru" seminar to attempt to become an anesthesiologist.
This is where you just don't seem to "get it" with regards to a formal education and your "guru" seminars. Colleges go through a tough accreditation process and are selective with those they admit. Seminars charge $$ but allow anyone to attend who can pay the fee and award a pretty certificate at the end.
Sure, there are some educational institutions who have established their own "accrediation" agency in an attempt to establish credibility - however, most people know what is a true accreditation and what is bogus.
Your NR RE school was and is bogus. The amount of credits provided for your week long seminar/classes is way more than what Harvard, Yale, Columbia or any other ivy league school would charge per credit. And the difference, there is NO guarantee a community college would accept NR RE school's credit towards an associate's degree, whereas credits earned at Harvard, Yale, Columbia or most anyother school is accepted and transferred to anyother school.
You went expensive and got suckered. I don't know of any student or graduate who attended an accredited college or university (either state school or private institution) who was "suckered" into their education.
Oh, and one request, stop using the word LEVERAGE. You don't know the meaning of leverage.

Wow - Very few comments have been approved since the Nightline show was aired. I know that none of mine have been approved -- and these were similar to posts that have always been approved in the past..
Hmmm... Interesting that he posts a graph of the traffic spike after the show, too. I guess that is important to him.
I guess Casey is banking on his lenders having the same attitude he had about Aaron Lomax. They failed to do their due diligence and they'll figure it won't be worth it to go after him. Looks like he did learn something after all.
On principle alone I'd have thrown good money after bad to screw that Lomax to the wall. I've seen to it that when a cabbie feels lazy and doesn't want to do his job and drive me to the outer boroughs, I call the TLC and get a summons issued to the bastard on the spot. Even when the jerk starts pleading with me not to do it, I write down the case number and court date for him as a tip.
Bottom line is, Casey was lazy even then and I'm surprised as hell he even went after the guy. It gives me a chuckle to know somebody got the better of him (I mean a regular joe and not a GURU), and that it gets under his skin. Notice that right after the Lomax comment, he felt the need to post his traffic spike to show everybody that nobody gets the better of Casey Serin for long.

Checked out your website, wish you the best. Don't feel bad about getting a job that you don't think pays much, everyone starts off that way. Unlike Casey who feels he is to above a regular job, you are doing what you can, and you WILL gain some kind of skills from doing it.

This is where you just don't seem to "get it" with regards to a formal education and your "guru" seminars. Colleges go through a tough accreditation process and are selective with those they admit. Seminars charge $$ but allow anyone to attend who can pay the fee and award a pretty certificate at the end.
Sure, there are some educational institutions who have established their own "accrediation" agency in an attempt to establish credibility - however, most people know what is a true accreditation and what is bogus.
Your NR RE school was and is bogus. The amount of credits provided for your week long seminar/classes is way more than what Harvard, Yale, Columbia or any other ivy league school would charge per credit. And the difference, there is NO guarantee a community college would accept NR RE school's credit towards an associate's degree, whereas credits earned at Harvard, Yale, Columbia or most anyother school is accepted and transferred to anyother school.
You went expensive and got suckered. I don't know of any student or graduate who attended an accredited college or university (either state school or private institution) who was "suckered" into their education.
Oh, and one request, stop using the word LEVERAGE. You don't know the meaning of leverage.

I lived in Houston for 12 years and I can tell you that the GC properties dude is a slumlord in training (I checked the locations of his properties and most all of them are outside the tiny pockets of prosperity in H-Town which has NO ZONING by the way 288 south of 610...industrial, butt ugly, sometimes floods and did I mention the gang activity?). If he were actually serious about his studies at either Baylor or UT (those are the 2 med schools at which he could be doing anesthesiology) he wouldn't be jerking around with RE 'investing'. Rubbing shoulders with celebrities is fun as a hobby, but it's in the end meaningless unless you have a personal or professional relationship with them - and when you do, you *quickly* learn that "fame" is meaningless, and they're just people like everyone else, but with a unique set of hassles (like dealing with losers like you) as part of their job.
I know and am freinds with "famous" people. I can tell you bars and restaurants where you can dine and party alongside the hottest rising stars in Hollywood, without the annoying "VIP List" bullshit. As far as I can see, Sonwflake's profit was $400, not $500. He put up $100 ernest monay and the contracts don't show that the ernest money was returned to him. So his profit was $500 - $100 = $400.
