Two years ago I had the honor of translating for WWII vets in Paris for DDay events. What a wonderful group of men and women.

It's sad to think of the sacrifices that generation made compared to the entitlement of the CS generation.

Unknown said...

@Bemused Guy - Cool WWII vet story...

When I was young my dad had the good sense to sit us kids down with my Grandpa to listen to his stories about his experiences in the war.

Nothing gory or nasty about battles but it was fascinating to listen to and he recorded it. I've got to get a copy of that...

Anonymous said...

It's not the entire generation, a friend of mine is the same age exactly as Casey and is as baffled and offended as the rest of us as to his general existance and behaviour. There are plenty of hard-working, educated people his age with a sense of responsibility and no belief that they're magical elves to whom the world owes free money.

In other news - how fucking stupid is he? He was all excited about his big publicity on Orman's show, and was all about posting comments once his zombified segment aired.

Then, he realized the comments would be along the same lines as they always are, because anyone and everyone but him can see what he is... and stopped moderating. Way to capitalize on any marginal increase in traffic there, dippy.

Did he really think he'd get a bajillion new posters who were, what, touched by his story? Also thought he deserved free money? What does he think? What's he doing instead of moderating? Well-deserved Easter festivities?

Anonymous said...

The Memorial is HUGELY emotional.....it gripes me to no end how later generations have no clue or concern for the sacrifices made by so many men and women......
They truly are/were America's Greatest Generation.

When I took my family to D.C., tourists were laughing, loud, and disrespectful at all the memorials. I wanted to slap the crap out of them.

Anonymous said...

In a society where soldiers routinely sell their stories to Hello! magazine or ABC movie of the week, it was a pleasure listening to those heroes or WWII.

They were completely self-effacing and didn't share too much gore yet the stories were utterly compelling, even for the youth who were raised on "kill 'em video games." When talking to the nurses they would admit to being under fire but nudge us towards the men with, "It's their story."

The veterans were very amusing. I hope I can be as rowdy and bawdy
when I am half their age. Utterly shameless but charming. When we took them to Normandy a group of them were so excited to find a picture of themselves in one of the shops. Another was explaining to me that the hand radio in the window was actually the one he left behind in the cafe over 60 years ago. Imagine!

Off topic but my reply to the other post is buried so reposting here:

To Anon 789 credit score:

Anon,
Sorry for the delay. I could not access my information from home over the weekend.

It depends on what date you were supposed to be locked in but 6.25 (possibly 6.125 depending on your brokers fees) was reasonable, and for sure the max you should have been charged with your score.

Rates moved up about 1/4 pt from April 3 to April 17 so if he gambled and didn't lock you when he said, you got hosed as he passed the increase to you so he could make his desired commission.

If you tell me when he said you were locked in and when he changed it, I can give you an even better idea.

Smarmy is deleting posts again. He's toned down his anti-casey rhetoric. Maybe Casey has "learned his lesson". Maybe he's come back to Swab with some new ideas. Maybe there's an NDA and contractual promises to never go behind Swaby's back again.

I think the past few posts on DHC have simply been baiting complaince from Casey and forcing him to conform to Swabmeister's little rulebook.

I think it's very VERY much on again.

Unknown said...

Casey is dumb enough that just might be true. However I highly doubt the reason is that he "learned his lesson" or because of Nigel hating.

Our FFF has proven to have a fairly high tolerance when it comes to Haterz. He might moderate comments but he's been able to embrace some of the casey-esque happenings on the web. Think about the flow chart or picturefest a while ago. He is a firm believe that any publicity is SWEET publicity.

Hope you all had a great weekend. I'm too lazy to go back and find out, but how was the CS/Orman segment?

Nigel is very defensive. If he were so secure in his success and his ideas, he would never come to EN and impose that creepy little picture of himself on our forums.

nigel has a new angle and scheme about every 48 hours. i think he's trying to differentiate in the "marketplace". i remember something he wrote once about targeting a blog: find some unused topical niche and sit your fat ass in it. so he chose real estate in salt lake city, and then hyped the shit out of it, assuring every single interweb post has a hyperlink. and he chose positive casey. nobody else has, so he's claiming the niche. in my view he's living in oblivion, serving a soulless God. he calls it market positioning. if the haterz speak openly, the market position is jeopardized. he considers casey hater blogs saturated, but thinks there's a market for a casey pal blog. there might not be more to it than this idiotic line of thought.

all of our soldiers endure a level of adversity and sacrifice casey serin cannot imagine.

Anonymous said...

John, good post. Problem is that Nigel overestimated Casey's positive fanbase. Look at the posts! They are all haterz. Even better, his blog is designed to sell the Casey positive angle but it's also going to backfire when all the realistic posts are embedded into Google as well.

See, Google CAN be your friend AND it can definitely be your enemy (just ask Casey!). The fact that the only posters on Nigelland USA are us means NOBODY cares about this joke and that Casey has ZERO real fans.

I especially hope they start that foreclosure help site. Who would take advice from a kid who looks slovenly and mumbles too much and a metrosexual who CLAIMS to be an active mortgage broker but apparently is not or else he'd have ZERO time to run all these blogs.

From a really interesting article on who gets stuck when homes arec foreclosed upon:

"First, figures from the FBI show that mortgage fraud topped $1 billion 2005 — more than four times the 2003 level. However, says the FBI, “the actual amount of money lost to mortgage fraud each year is unknown largely because no central organization collects mortgage fraud loss data.”

Second, the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network reported in November that “suspicious activity reports” regarding possible mortgage fraud had “increased by 1,411 percent between 1997 and 2005.”

Third, lenders have access to tax records through the IRS Form 4506 provided by borrowers, a form that allows lenders to review past tax records. In testimony before the Federal Reserve, Steven Krystofiak, President of the Mortgage Brokers Association for Responsible Lending, says his group compared the income figures for 100 stated-income loans with IRS records. What did they find?

Ninety percent of the stated-income loan applications showed earnings that were exaggerated by at least 5 percent.
Almost 60 percent of the stated amounts were exaggerated by more than 50 percent."

The only blemish on the "greatest generation" are their children (boomers) and their grandchildren (generation x).

that might be a topic worthy of this blog -- how a generation that grew up in the depression and fought two REAL wars (WWII and Korea) spawned two of the most "worthless generations" in the history of our republic.

Schnapps said...

@King Friday

Well, being as I am generation Xer (barely) myself, I would have to say that doesn't really apply to me. Mainly because I am born and bred north of the 49th and have nothing to do with the United States, except when I travel through onwards to other destinations. :> (go on, ask me how I felt when my Partner with a Very Common Last Name got asked, "So, Mr. VeryCommonLastName, have you ever been arrested by us?" by the INS).

At any rate, I'd offer to moderate such a discussion, keeping in mind it would be heavily moderated in terms of providing clarifications and qualifications of statements - its unfair to paint an entire generation, or two, with such broad strokes. Quite honestly, its offensive to be painted with that brush, when I have a Master's degrees, a day job, a small business on the side, and I take courses through distance education to try to fill in some gaps, and maintain a 4.0 GPA.

And I am eternally grateful to my parents (one of the "greatest generation" and one a boomer) who made it all possible.

Self-involved? Certainly. But I've managed to create a small business that provides a supplementary income of 10-20K/annum and still provides a service that saves lives.

So there :)

Here's a generational joke - but it's actually accurate.

The Greatest Generation are also called (affectionately) Geezers. They dont drink, 'cause the doctor won't let them.

The Boomers tend to not drink much for healthy lifestyle reasons.

So what do we call the group in between?

Answer in a little while.

Happily there was a check from a customer in the same mailbag as the Donald Trump stupidity.

We've "created wealth" by working hard and creating products and services companies want to purchase.

Sure it would be nice to not work this hard and still get paid, but if that happens it will only be because we've planned well and hired well and have given people reasons to work for / with us. Not just that we "failed forward" and drink Jamba Juice and think other people should work hard and pay us money cause ... well ... cause we're snowflakes!

from the (not so) positive take on Casey

When Casey Serin purchased eight homes in four different states, he needed a plan to travel and oversee fix up as well as inspect the properties, some of which he had purchased sight unseen.

Flying and hotels can be expensive, so Serin Corp investigated other options. This was at the top of the list -

(picture of an RV)

This little nugget was plucked from the deleted cached photos Google left behind. I asked Casey about it when he was in Salt Lake and he said that after some consideration they decided this wasn't the best option. He ended up going with the airfare and hotel route to manage his houses until he ran out of money.

In retrospect, after losing all his houses, I wonder if he would have chosen the RV. At least he wouldn't be homeless should he get kicked out of the apartment as well.

Corporate Credit Seed Money Paid Off

For those who have been following this blog closely you will remember that I borrowed about $4,500 at a pretty high interest (plus points) from a private lender a few months back. That money was to pay for consulting and costs of acquiring a corporation and applying for lines of credit.

Well, the guys at Corporation Brokers finally got us to a point where we’re getting approved for business credit. We’ve been approved for a couple of small accounts (about a month ago) and the bigger ones are still on the way. It’s a process and takes time.

Today, I’m proud to say that I paid off my private lender who let me borrow the seed money. He took a big risk on me since he knew my entire foreclosure situation (hence the high interest rate).

It felt great to pay that money back! Now it’s time to start looking for some sweet deals! Maybe we’ll have a come-back story after all…

well i called him the first time and had to leave a message because he wasnt in the office...like our office, were out in the field a good bit doing stuff for the public good.

i mean, i know that the guys at scotsman guide have talked to the fbiers about casey. i know alot of mortgage fraud experts have. Even with prodding, it takes two years or so to get everything in place, because unlike casey, us law enforcement folks like to dot every i.

But, its on his wiki page now!

Keep on piling up the fraud Casey. Club Fed would have been a good place for you but after this little stunt I'm thinking more a Prison type of situation may be in order.

How much does anyone think the vig on that loan was? I bet he paid $6K to get it paid off, and probably is gonna use the other $4k (I'm guessing this line of credit is worth $10K?) to pay off his rent and cashcall for another month. Then he'll find a way to squander what's left before the "Big Lines" come in. Once those happen he'll be spending free again knowing that a SWEET DEAL is coming.

BTW Nigel, nobody cares about the RV. Just so you know. That little teaser about a week ago and you come up with this bit about the RV? Please.

Typical Casey. Pay $4500 in debt for something that cost regular people $100.

Anonymous said...

@Lost Cause,

Yeah well then you actually have to show a profit before anyone will touch you and that takes more than 30 seconds. In Get Rich Quick Caseyworld that is a lifetime. Oh and you do have to legitimately turn a profit as opposed to buying someone else's failed business and finagling illegal lines of credit to pay off personal debt. SCUMBAG!

OMFG:

I can't believe he BEGs for donations and then announces this crap.

This kids is unbelievable. Someone needs to stop him.

Sprezzatura said...

"A week and a half ago, he's begging the haterz for $200 to pay CashCall, yet in a miraculous turnaround, has managed to pay off a high-interest $4500 loan."

He's just trading old debt for new debt. It's utterly typical that of all the debt he has, what does he do with this new credit? Pay off the people he bought the corporation from.

In other words, they just made a sweet profit off him, and pushed the risk of default off onto some other schmuck. It's not unlike those subprime companies who turned around and sold all their crappy loans off to other companies.

Miranda Mayer said...

That money was to pay for consulting and costs of acquiring a corporation and applying for lines of credit.

Well, I had a long chat with special agent Justin Valese at the FBI this afternoon. Details to follow.

Right now, I need to contact RBoy asap. Hope he reads this, and responds to the mail message I sent to his mySpace account. Sheesh.

Nigel is whatever it takes to get another link on the internet.

Ever since his boy band failed to take off in the mid '90's and he was forced into a life of Olympic pin sales and Amway, he has vowed revenge. His ultimate plan is to have every link on the internet point directly to the "Carnival of Blog" homepage.

Just a heads up gang. I have a relative that is terminaly ill and I'll be in CA for a few days. Sorry Steph but I have to postpone my trip to PDX.

Man, Too bad Snowflake can't have his kidneys fail, and have congestive heart failure at the same time. he begs for money for CC and then pays off the Corporate shell..NO MORE FUCKING DIRTY PENNIES FOR HIM GANG! FONGOOL!

Lost Cause said...

@ TK said...

Oh yeah.. that's right. Normal people don't pay to get credit either.

From what I understand, when Nigel worked selling olympic pins, he took a training course from Mitt Romney himself.

It was entitlted,

Hey haterz!

just wanted to let you in on a secret that is gonna hit my DHC website, and as a special favor to all of you, I'm giving you a little tidbit in ADVANCE of what it's about, get in on this must need info before the avalanche of HITS that my website is gonna get...

"Casey's man juice, bitter, sweet or citrusy?"

that's all I'm going to say for now, but rest assured, you guys aren't going to BELIEVE what I will tell you. More to CUM (ha ha I am teh funneee) tomorrow!

The use of corporate credit isn't to fold his personal debts into the corp, that would be stupider than even he coud do.

His, and Galina's credit is shot.

A new corporate identity allows new, and fresh corporate credit, no foreclosures, no way past due payments. It's a new, fresh start where you can get new credit lines.

You guys are energetic, but really not too sophisticated with credit games.

Hi Nigel aka Anon @ 12:18! Nice to see you here.

We all know that. Some better than others. He can try to fold the debts into the corporation because he isn't smart. He legally cannot use corporate credit for personal loans of any sort AND he will need to give a personal guarantee or show 3 years of corporate tax returns for any loan over a certain amount. I doubt he will pass muster on either so the most he can make is $5-10K at a time in credit line loans.

One more point to ponder on this bull is that he appears to have used a loan to the corporation to pay a personal debt. If he doesn't disclose this properly to the state he will be forced into a situation where the corporate veil will be pierced and he can be in DEEP doo-doo.

Thanks for getting me going on this. As you can see from my moniker I am somebody who does know about Corporations and filings. He's walking a fineline here with regards to out and out fraud.

One more delicious point that will f--- Casey hard. Casey or Nigel, if you are reading this PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take this seriously.

I will bet the Corporation Brokers handed you a Delaware or Nevada corp right? Funny thing those types of incorporations. California does not give a shit about that. If you do 100% of your physical business here, you will be forced to pay the minimum $800/year corp tax. Yes, it's true. Hide from that and you risk the State coming after you hard. You see, they do not give one crap that you registered your corporation in a tax haven state. All they need to see is that you are here doing business!

Get it? No? Go ahead and keep doing what you do. The smart folks here will be all over you on this. Don't think we can't find your corporate registration. Every state in the nation has a free website that allows for searches of the names involved with the biz.

Love ya. Have fun playing business man.

Nigel Blog war is part of an agreement between he and Casey to do what John reccommended a while back - create some drama and drive traffic. Nigel gets to add a few thousand more links to the internets and get some of his own traffic (he thinks he can control) and Casey keeps his traffic up. WIN WIN!

Anonymous said...

Um, Nigel's big news is that Casey had an cheaper, more labor intensive opportunity to cut costs on his travel...and he didn't do it?

This is news? This is the great thing we were supposed to hold our breaths about?

Whatever, Nigel.

Anonymous said...

In addition, if Nigel can't figure out that we can spot his writing style a mile away, then he really is not as smart as he thinks he is.

But we knew that all along.

Didn't we?

LOL

Anonymous said...

Uhh... Homey? Casey's been posting about a shell corporation and siphoning money from it again. Why the hell isn't he in jail yet? I'll be calling the Sac FBI later on about this little murse-toting turdlet. Are you allowed to perform a citizens' arrest for white-collar crimes?
