He says that he's switching servers, and this is to be expected, Be patient.

I mean, really, if 'flake banned every who said something bad about him, his blog would have traffic like the award winning SLC RE blog.

Oh, and the post is an odd mixture of:

1. Whoo-hoo, IAFF is 6th on Google for "foreclosure"! And I didn't pay a dirty penny for the listing!

(The irony of how much debt I've incurred to get there is lost on me.)

2. Now to monetize it: who wants to partner with me? Guest posts! Sweet opportunities for all!

(Anyone? Bueller? Anyone?)

3. I'm writing the book! Well, I dictate it down the phone and then we massage it later. But it will have all the juicy details! It may even have scans of my loan offers!

(Piss off, haters: if you want answers you're going to have to pay for them.)

4. Tahoe is sweet! Here's a picture of some clouds to prove I was there! Now I'm going home!

(I'm not saying where "home" is though.)

It's all good! Opportunities! I am truly blessed!

I'd just love for him to run out of gas, have a flat, hit a slick spot lock his keys in the car at the gas station or/and all of the above on the way home.

Oh, yeah! I need to hire this guy to do all my website programming.

Casey is now just a run of the mill net troll, who has lost his edge. He no longer has the just-right combination of naivety, idiocy and nutty behavior to make you want to view. He has regressed to even less than his original (?) scam pyramid chain email from the nineties. And how entertaining was *that* content? Not too much. In fact, this crap below may be his best work to come for some time BWAHAHAHAHA!

Lame.

The ISP page shows blocked because of server overload..

I suspect more along the line of Caseys "clean" web page design skills. I wonder how many non-cacheable hits back to the primary web server/ISP each page generates? (duplicate images/segments in different locations on the server are non-cacheable by the browser).

Could also be the load caused by his new permission "plug-in".. and the web server tracking CPU usage per web account...

Casey's mad IT skillz suck even more than we originally thought, he can't progam his way out a paper bag and his admin skillz are worse than that.

Those Tahoe pics tell me he *has* to be trolling now.

He's down to his last dirty pennies, begging for loans to keep a roof over his wife's head.... and he's spending $3/gallon for gas to drive to Tahoe, pay for lodging, and take watch crappy snow fall?

I hope he winds up living in Vdubs, after losing ALL the windows. Hold Special Snowflake's feet to the fire a bit adn see if he melts.

I'm not that techie but has Casey moved part of his website to his new server but forgot to move some other (important?) bits?

I don't know quite where to begin...

Our little Snowflake *truly* is an idiot. Why can't he "brainstorm" at the local library? Or in a friggin' park?

Why didn't he just use a plastic bag as a temporary window?

Real Estate Twit (as I call him) seems utterly clueless on how to actually conserve money. He's really good at spending it, though.

He seems to take victory out of absurd arbitrary milestones ("I'm 6th on Google!"). "Borrows money" with no income stream and then takes off to Tahoe??

I was pulling for him (a little) after his "I've created all this *pressure* for myself!" post. But that only lasted for about 12 hours....

I just like the train wreck. :)

I wonder if the DNA-imbued mattress and mass-produced acrylic hotel-art helped Casey to find some inspiration.

Sprezzatura said...

Well, looks like he was telling thr truth about the cheap rooms, the rack rate midweek is about $55 a night.

Anonymous said...

Even if it's cheap...55/0 is still 0.... Casey should only spend the denominator...which is ZERO!!

Anonymous said...

So his idea of "going to nature" is to spend a few days in a hotel?
Sounds more like a response to "No you're sleeping on the couch" or worse.
How can anyone goof off all day then justify a vacation to get away from it all?

Now I have to go put myself in a time out before I start using some VERY unladylike language...

Casey,

Your Flickr caption says "Sun peaking through the clouds".

How long have you been in this country reading and writing English? 10+ years, right?

Here's another word for you to study and learn to correctly use:

"peak" and "peek"

Used correctly: "Sun peeking through the clouds at the mountain peaks". Also" "My ability to live by mooching off others is peaking".

That has to be the Horizon casino in Tahoe, right?

Only the four or five casino hotels in Tahoe have rooms that high. The positions of the pool, parking garage, covered walkway and rear building evoke the Horizon.

Among the big Tahoe hotels it's the dumpiest of the bunch. Haven't stayed there in several years, when a bunch of teenagers got into a food fight in the hall at 2 am and security didn't give a fuck.

You can easily find cheaper mom-n-pop motels in Tahoe, especially during midweek, so he's probably staying there only to be close to the gambling.

Anonymous said...

Maybe Casey didn't pay his hosting bill. The announced "move to a fully dedicated server" possibly came after his current hosting provider sent a final notice for suspension of website due to non-payment.

Casey's probably looking for another hosting provider to scam now.

@soemdood: Even his game of "photo composition leading to deconstruction by Haterz™" has now gone completely lame.

That's because this time it's Casey, not Galina, behind the camera.

What a Snowflake, he even fucks up getting back to nature. He goes to a hotel in Tahoe and camps out in some dive hotel. I go back to nature, I backpack into a place like Cherry Lake in CA for a couple of weeks, camp out, fish, hunt, stargaze, go skinny dipping, all that. Man, what a looser...I can't wait until he goets home. If there is a God, the locks will be changed and he's be served with a RO.

Miranda Mayer said...

@the other Steph

$55 a night is still $55 Casey doesn't really have to spend. It's borrowed money. He can't even pay rent, and he's spending money on a hotel room.

For Casey, $55 in hand is a fortune. He is wasting it.

Sprezzatura said...

Is it possible he did sell the domain and is now spending the proceeds?

Miranda Mayer said...

Maybe Casey is gambling his borrowed money... hoping to hit paydirt.

Miranda Mayer said...

If he did sell the domaine, that would be the first 'smart' thing he's done since last year. But what he does with the money is pretty much guaranteed not to be smart. But at that point, we would be fully disconnected and wouldn't really care.

Anonymous said...

I pay $10/month for my web site(s) hosting. 2X$55 = a year, near enough.

lawnmower man said...

Is it possible he did sell the domain and is now spending the proceeds?

Not a chance -- there's too much of his identity and his foreclosure-resource fantasies tied up in it. He was gloating about his Google rankings immediately before IAFF fell over.

It's been flaky for days, he warned us there was a transition coming, it's Casey -- no need to infer intent, ineptitude is explanation enough.

Will he also find that his fridge-mooching account is also blocked when he makes it back to Sacramento? Where did he borrow that money from? Could it be our old title-loan-on-VDubs speculation coming home to roost?

(FWIW, other changes to IAFF I spotted before it went dark: the "about me" rewritten to past-tense "tried to avoid foreclosure on six houses". The Tip Jar renamed to Donations. Yahoo ads -- I guess nobody bought any IAFF impressions from AdBrite. No cached copy here I'm afraid.)

Anonymous said...

> Is it possible he did sell
> the domain and is now
> spending the proceeds?

Who would buy it? The domain gets hits only because we want to watch the train wreck. Who would invest money in that? It's has a very limited life.

Anonymous said...

C'mon guys. One frigging Stephanie on here is enough.

Anonymous said...

The place is a dump, look at the rooftop of the walkway down below, that's asking for trouble. What do you expect? The guy is a dead man walking and he's taking his last meal. Let him crow about how great things have gone..he knows we know his site is pretty much dead in the water. Maybe if he changed his site name to Iamfacingjail.com he could get continued interest.

By the way snowflake, I spent 500 dollars a night at a ski resort around me for two nights. Plasma TV, fireplace, granite kitchen, jacuzzi. That's what LIVING large really is..not some bullshit crap hotel with a crap view and starbucks. By the way, the dinner we had wasn't some piddly snowcrab leg and a tater tot either. Just so you realize, some of the people that hate your guts are waaay waayy more successful than you can ever hope to be. We dared more than you did, took bigger risks, actually MADE money, and didn't just sit at home twiddling our thumbs hoping we hit the lotto. I'm getting a little bit tired of the cheerleaders giving that roosevelt quote about the man in the arena blah blah..oh shut up already.

Sprezzatura said...

If I'm going to Tahoe to ski my ass off, then I really don't care where I stay or what it looks like as long as it's clean and warm. All I am going to do there is shower, sleep, and change clothes.

If I am going to be spending any real amount of waking hours in the room, though, then it damn well better be a nice one.

Anonymous said...

Casey, we have something in common:

I too got a bit stressed out after my last consulting project, so I took a break too - like you, on the spur of the moment.

In my case, my looser W2 job gives me enough income (you might want to look up that word, I know it's not one you see often) that I flew with my significant other first class, rented an ocean front condo for 10 days and decompressed.

Like you, I did borrow the money in the sense that I put most of it on a credit card for convenience. However, unlike you, I'll write a check for the full amount when the credit card bill comes. And, I'll never miss the money. I'll probably do it again this fall.

Please keep this in mind next time you sneer at us W2 loosers.

Anonymous said...

The issue with IAFF seems to be that he's hit his bandwidth ceiling for the month, until the next billing cycle. I think I saw that he had something like 1.7 million page views in the past month. That can run up bandwidth very quickly with the amount of info that's on a single IAFF page (long blogs, comments, pics of snowflake's $6 coffee)...

I think the dedicated server is bull, though. That would run him at least $70/month for a cheap Linux box with very few frills...

COBOL? Mainframes are making a comeback. Maybe the beardnecks will live yet another glorious decade.
