The New Repentant Casey? Not

He's not reformed, he's just coming to the realization that he's burned every bridge off the island and he needs to focus on his best chance for escape.
I couldn’t sleep for some reason so I’m staying up taking care of somethings like sending out my last email to my mailing list...
I want to start applying for jobs this week.

Want? Start? Snowflake, Snowflake, Snowflake... sigh.

"The talkcast is still on tonight..."

But this is the part that just proves he hasn't changed:
My marriage and my family has been affected in a big way by my actions and this toxic exposure. The internet could be a cruel place and I am the one who put myself and my family out there. If I knew things were going to get this bad I would have done investing and blogging in a much different way.

It wasn't his reckless criminality, it was yet another external force that thwarted his success. It isn't going to get any better for young fraudtard until he admits that his problems are his own.

Ok, I think I have it figured out....maybe.

KC had the contract to with G which was broken when he brought the blog back up and split for Australia. G realized he would never change and through her meetings with Duane and Mark she slowly became aware of the big picture. With KC fleeing the country he left her with all of the creditors and legal liability (and also all of the evidence). This much everyone knows.

As G went through every thing she finally realized that is is not "allgood" and she is in some deep doo doo. Being a reasonable person, G did what everyone has been telling KC to do for months and gathered up evidence, got a lawyer and went to the FBI and said here is what I know and here are the documents. There were allegations of G and family meeting with a lawyer over the past month along with talk of a filing for seperation or divorce.

So now KC has finally learned that G is giving him up to the FBI to save herself, and she is serious about it. Once she divorces him she will be able to testify against him. He is now trying desperately to save the marriage in the hopes that she will not testify against him. He is doing this by going back to that contract written "weeks ago" and trying to live up to it.

So Dawg, am I close???

You know why I hate Casey most of all? Because in reading IAFF, Caseypedia and EN, I started saying "it's all good" in my daily life without even realizing it. So what's wrong with that?

I live in NYC! We don't say that here! Nothing is all good, there's always something to complain about! Dammmit.

Also, don't be surprised if Casey picks up another book deal down the line. "If I Did It" by Casey Serin...

So the Effa Bee Eye came a knocking at Momma Serin's door to see about Hammar. I'm guessing Casey, initially, never had any intention of returning to the US. But then he ran out of money and supporterz and had to come slinking back "home".

Casey "wants to start" applying for jobs.

So frickin start already! Applying for jobs is not like brain surgery, you get to try as many times as you like. There is nothing keeping him from sending out a dozen applications by the end of the day.

but I'm guessing that he'll report a 12% success on the job hunting stuff, because he opened his resume.

Interesting that the FBI has finally caught up with Casey--justice is slow in the U.S., that's for sure, but better late than never.

My (non-expert) view is that the FBI likes to go as high in the food chain as possible. Make no mistake, Casey is too public to simply be let off. I think they'll push for some sort of public justice for him, so that all the media coverage of him gets revisited, with the public seeing in black-and-white (or rather, in full color) what happens when someone lies on a legal contract.

But the real targets will be higher up the ladder. The FBI will be very interested in getting their hands on any of the Enablerz™--people who knew that they were facilitating illegal actions on Casey's part, e.g. mortgage brokers, shell corporation providers--and let's not forget the Utah real estate "lending" scam. Those are people who have real, profitable careers, some of whom are otherwise respected in their communities, and who have a LOT more to lo(o)se than Casey--much more attractive targets for the Feds. Casey's sentence gets cut, big-shot people go to jail, win-win™.

There's a little bit more fear in the "shady" side of the real estate world today than there was a couple of days ago. Thanks to the people who kept up the pressure on the Feds, it's appreciated, and we forgive you of any tendencies towards teasing us :).

P.S. Nigel (might have) REALLY dodged a bullet on this one--say what you'd like about him, it appears that he was smart enough to avoid getting into anything with Casey that would have left him exposed to legal action.

Eric said...

I read that is he has lost his identity totally. His entire personality, who he is, all he says is now his "blog". He sees shutting the blog down as a form of suicide?

Comments from the field?

I think he is a sociopath, so "blogicide" might not fit. He's trying to manipulate us and control the story as best he can.

Casey is the fish on the dock. Flopping, gasping, suffocating. He called the blog his baby but in the real world his wife is holding him back. The kid just ain't wired right.

Peripheral Visionary said...

On another thought, when I first read the e-mail from Casey, my initial impression was cautiously positive. He said everything he should have said (even taking responsibility--sort of), and the steps he had outlined were all the right ones.

But he's still blogging. And this entire episode has, sadly, rendered me more cynical than I was in the past. I just don't believe him. All the words are all correct, but the actions are all wrong--he's still blogging, he's still making promises he appears to have no intention of keeping, he's still using weasel-words, and on and on.

My initial thought was "this could be it, it could be over." It's not over. If I had received the e-mail, had pulled up IAFF and it was all blank except for the ads, then I would have known, it was over. But it's not, it's still there, the blogging continues, the string of broken contracts continues.

I wish the best for him and his family, I really do, but at this point I simply cannot believe that he will voluntarily change his ways. He will not stop on his own, he can only be stopped by outside forces.

Is Snowflake using Marty as the reason why his marriage failed? It sure seems like it.

Let's review our principals:

- Casey: Moving back into the fold. Accepted back at home. Preparing to file BK. Providing information on lenders, mortgage brokers, and whoever taught him to get cash back. No jail time, no prosecution, no judgement against.

- Galina: Cc'ing and forwarding a lot less information, hence the quiet periods.

- Family: Sick of the attention, want to close it all down and deal with the problem. Much quieter life come fall.

- FBI: Doesn't give a rat's ass about Casey, Marty, or other small fry, much to others chagrin. Someone bigger taught Casey (and others) how to pull these scams.

- Marty: Small time, out of the story now. Undoubtedly going back to SEO scams.

- Nigel: Buying extra cheap food for the koi, since the SLC market is dumping.

- Rob: Being written out of the story, still contemplating whether or not to just shut it all down. Doesn't trust the other folks he forwards and cc's to, but everyone knows that. Only has the cryptic thing going now.

- Duane: Not even relevant anymore. Yesterday's news. See above re: being cryptic.

- Mark: Disturbed that the top 20 Google results for "Mark Villasenor" come back with words like "suing my innocent family" from all over the Internet. Prospect of DMCA notices to Google, Wikipedia, Technorati, etc, aren't helping with the sleeping problem.

- Sharky: Dumb ex-grunt who can only talk in war metaphors, wants to believe he's part of a bigger plan, doesn't know any better, only on the receiving line of forwards and cc's and very little at that.

- Caseyhaterz.com, much easier to skim through and generally more truthful as a noise filter to all of the stupid speculation.

FBI - CS may be a small fish, but he is a very visible fish.

Nigel - The SLC market is GREAT!!! Just ask him. He may be reduced to eating the koi (they're a type of fish, you know) before long.

Rob / Duane - They are in contact with the major players. Are you? Didn't think so.

Mark - Be careful, you mentioned his REAL NAME. That's his property and he'll sue you!

Sharky - He's been here much longer than you have. I don't always agree with his posts, but I do agree with most. He contributes - what are you doing here?

@Steve

Just to clarify, he was actually born in 1982. (He's turning 25 this year)

And no, from what I have read here and on caseypedia (as well as listening to audiocasts), Casey achieved US citizenship prior to his marriage.

Rob has pretty much already said what is worse than the FBI: Casey losing the blog. It's far more than just his "mistress" as he calls it, it's nearly his identity. I don't doubt for a minute that he would rather go to prison than lose the blog. For whatever reason, it appears that he will be forced to lose the blog, and for him, that's worse than Federal prosecution.

Peripheral Visionary said...

One other idle speculation: he could be in legal trouble overseas from whatever "business" he was involved in in Australia. That's not likely, as the indications are that whatever he was trying to set up there didn't go through, but it's still a possibility.

Unknown said...

My dumb guess: Casey's new girlfriend dumped him. Now he's sniffing around Galina to see if he can scam his way back into the marriage he abandoned like an algae-infested uncovered pool.

Yes, baby, I'll shut the blog down again just like I did a few months ago. Yes, baby, I'll pay off all your debts like I promised. Yes, baby, I'll get a real job and bring home the bacon just like I agreed to in that contract I signed with you which I pissed on as soon as you turned your back on me.

Something like "August 3rd" has no meaning to Casey. It might as well be December 17th, 2083. If he does wake up and discover the day is "August 3rd", he'll decide what to do then which will probably be do nothing.

I still suspect Casey is a pothead. His bleary-eyed appearance and babbling optimism remind me of freshman potheads who are happy as clams as they flunk out of college in a puff of smoke. He doesn't look that way because he's not getting enough sleep.

FORMER USC REAL ESTATE PROFESSOR WHO BILKED STUDENTS, OTHERS OUT OF $1.5 MILLION IN REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT SCAM SENTENCED TO FEDERAL PRISON

An Orange County man who ran a real estate investment scam that lured victims with bogus claims of large returns on investments in commercial real estate developments was sentenced today to six years in federal prison.

Barry Landreth, 38, formerly of Coto de Caza and now of Fullerton, was sentenced this morning by United States District Judge Cormac J. Carney. A hearing has been set for August 20, 2007, to determine the amount of restitution owed by Landreth. Judge Carney ordered Landreth to surrender to custody by July 30, 2007.

At today’s hearing, six victims addressed the Court, with one man, a former student of Landreth’s at USC, saying that Landreth was a professor he trusted and went to for career advice. Several victims testified that the losses they incurred from the scheme have ruined them financially. At least one victim said he would have to work well beyond his planned retirement to recoup the money he lost to Landreth.

Landreth pleaded guilty in March to a federal wire fraud charge. By pleading guilty, Landreth, a former adjunct professor of real estate finance at the University of Southern California, admitted that he ran two schemes involving purported real estate development projects in Chicago and Las Vegas. Through his company, Webster Realty Investors, Landreth offered short-term, high-yield real estate investments in two projects that he called Discovery Chicago LLC and Discovery Las Vegas LLC. Landreth induced victims, including wealthy investors and several USC students, to invest with promises that their money would be used in one of the two projects. In fact, Landreth did not use the victims’ money for either project, but instead spent the money on business expenses for Webster Realty Investors and on personal expenses.

My guess...

After getting kicked out of Starbucks for sloooowwwllllyyyyyy sipping his coffee, Snowflake found a nice spot to sleep under the freeway.

Unbeknownst to our hero, the carboard box he thought was unoccupied was previously claimed by Donny the Bum.

Donny, a Vietnam War veteran, was highly offended that Snowflake tried to claim the box as his own.

Donny smacked Casey, then went through Casey's personal items. Donny tosses the laptop on the side. Donny, who can't read has no use for a laptop.

Donny discovers a dog-eared, water-stained, faded picture of Galina. Donny then looks Casey in the eye and says "Hey boy, this your woman? I've seen her before. She sucks guys off for $15 a shot. I've gotten my willy shined by her plenty of times. Her name is Galina."

Casey then looks Donny in the eye with shock! "How could this bum know who she is?" Casey thinks to himself. Then Casey reconciles himself to the fact that Donny is telling the truth.

Shamed and cuckoled, Casey then reflects on the life he's given Galina. "Blowing far more successful guys is one thing," Casey thinks to himself, "but blowing a dirty bum like this is another thing altogether."

Donny then asks Casey "You hungry, boy?"

Casey nods yes.

"Then go eat some food!" Donny rudely tells Casey.

"But I don't have anything..." Casey whimpers to Donny, eyeing Donny's can of sardines.

It then occurs to Casey... "Maybe I'm even lower than this bum. He has food and a place to stay. I have nothing."

From that moment on, Casey decides to make a change. He waits until the morning, and sets his laptop out in front of Starbucks. "Sweet!" Casey thinks to himself... "I've got a wi-fi connection!"

Casey then makes his posting to IAFF.com

Casey if you are reading this, the best advice I can offer, is don't wash it man. Don't wipe. Just let that get as nasty as possible. That's the best chance you have at avoiding being violated. Take a pillow case, fold it up over and over until it's about the size of your fist, and carry it with you. If you are grabbed, just put it in your mouth and bite down. Never let them see you cry.

Q Q said...

southernbread, I think you need to re-check your facts. You don't have a friend who knows jack, or he/she is just stupid

1. Its the Bureau of prisons, not department of prisons. Check the website: www.bop.gov

2. federal prison camps (FPCs) have very little violence. There typically is not any armed guards or barbed wire fence. See, these felons prefer being at a MINIMUM SECURITY PRISON so they behave. If they misbehave they get sent to a medium security or worse, where bad shit does happen.

3. Rape in jail does happen, but very very rarely at min security fed prison camps. consensual sex between fags happens, but forced sodomy or sex is as rare as Casey serin working hard, and that is rare!

4. Hygene (sp?) and cleanliness is extremely important is FPCs - the other prisoners WILL NOT tolerate a nasty, disgusting inmate. They will do shit to make the nasty person clean their act up.

Read up on this before you spout off, son. Plenty of blogs & books to become informed (or your "friend" can).

Is it really that far-fetched? Casey has ties within the local Uzbek community, he's desperate for any kind of money, thinks nothing of outright defrauding CashCall, lenders, his own mother, and so forth.

Not that mob figures would bring legal action against him, but any dealings or debts with them may have come up in the course of the court hearings.

Casey had taken a hard money loan sometime back. Who were those people?

@q,

While I appreciate you taking the time to write and correct, I must clarify my point.

The person who wrote me, does work with the State Dept of Corrections. The "Dept of Prisons" is the informal reference for the DoC used heavily in my state.

Casey may be lucky enough to go to ClubFed, but I wouldn't hold your breath. There is as much chance of him going to a state prison. It's harder to get in to a "white collar" prison than you think.

And you can spout facts on prison rape all you'd like but it does happen. More than it should. Most studies can not pin down prison rape because of the shame of those reporting and/or fear of retaliation.

Lastly, I find it hard to believe that you'd tell me that violance is almost unheard of in prisons, yet follow your post by saying that prisoners would do things to clean up a person. Surely they would not violate a person's civil liberties and wash him?

Look, daddy, you need to wake up from whatever coma you are in. Prison is not a great place to be. Watch the National Geographic channel documentaries on prison life. Bad things can happen there.

Fliptard has legal issues oh boy! Let Scummy play the guess what fliptard's legal shitstorm is too:

1) In court for LMP's case.

2) While doing 1 above hit with DIVORCE papers from Galina.

3) While doing 1 and 2 above supeanad for a federal grand jury investigation on fliptards 'easy money corporate' lifestyle with random mortgage fraud thrown in.

Lemme see, that adds up to THREE so I'll take the 'calculated risk' I'm close to the target.

Yep, I read there too.

Speaking of prison rape:

From Chapter 7 of Violence by James Gilligan, M.D., a psychiatrist:
I first gained some acquaintance with the reality of rape in prison, and of the means through which some inmates are forced into the role of sex slave, when I was asked to see one young man, Jeffrey L., because his behavior had become so bizarre that the prison authorities thought he needed to be evaluated for psychiatric illness. The incident that led to this referral had occurred in the prison Visiting Room, a setting in which inmates sit on one side of a long table and their visitors on the other. Jeffrey L.'s mother had just concluded a visit with him, when instead of merely saying goodbye he leaped over the table in an attempt to follow her out of the Visiting room and out of the prison, crying hysterically, clinging to her, begging her to take him home with her. Since he would not tell either his mother or the correction officers why he had behaved this way, they asked me to see him.

When I interviewed Jeffrey, I noted that he was a slightly built nineteen-year-old white man (or boy) who appeared even younger than his stated age, who was visibly trembling and appeared nearly frightened to death. What he described to me was a pattern of repeated gang rapes to which he had been subjected since first arriving in prison. He was sent to prison for a relatively minor, nonviolent offense. After he was convicted in court, he had first been sent to the medium-security prison to which all of the younger prisoners convicted of nonviolent crimes are initially sent for a brief "diagnostic" evaluation, on the basis of which they are assigned or "classified" to whatever long-term prison setting the authorities deem suitable for that particular individual; soon after arriving there, he was raped by a gang of other inmates. Because he felt overwhelmingly ashamed of what had happened to him, and also because he knew enough about the mores of the prison subculture to know that seeking help from the correctional authorities would be seen as informing or "ratting" on his fellow prisoners, and that the penalty for that in the world of the prison is capital punishment..., he refused to reveal to anyone what had happened.

As ordinarily happens with nonviolent first offenders, he was soon transferred to a minimum-security prison, where he was again gang-raped. In terror of a repetition of that experience, and in order to provoke the prison officials to transfer him elsewhere, he refused a direct order to return to the cell block to which he had been assigned (and in which he had been raped), and thus was transferred to a third (medium-security) prison, where he was promptly subjected to a gang rape for the third time. It was following that experience that he behaved as I described above the the Visiting Room.

Young, pretty, middle class white guys have an almost 100% chance of getting raped in prison.

As they say... "If the Brothers don't get you, the Bubbas will."

Casey's best chance to survive would be to find a kind, elderly inmate with lots of respect and a low level sexual appetite, and occasionally offer practice the art of the handjob and the blowjob.

Bubba Brigham said...

Either way, Casey will become some man's pet. He has to choose his protector wisely, and always be there for his man.

Q Q said...

Ket me clarify a few points as well Sbread:

- I was talking about federal prisons and they are called the bureau of prisons. See, when the FBI investigates someone, its a federal case. if he is indicted & convicted by a AUSA (assistant US attorney aka federal prosecutor) he will go to a federal prison. Its a feds case if it is FBI.
- The state may or may not be involved in a case against him. Casey mentioned the FBI by name so I was pointing out what happens on a FEDERAL level. State DoCs are their own animal and when Casey mentions a state prosecutor or local DA then it makes sense to discuss a state DoC.

3. I never said "violence does not happen in prison" - check your reading comprehensipon skills. It does happen and too often. What I was stating was that violence and prison rape happen LESS OFTEN in a FPC due to the nature of the felons incarcerated there (typically 60-80% drug offenders 20% white collars). When violence happens, more often the offenders are shipped to a higher level prison - no one in a minimum security camp wants to go to a lock-up.

Lastly, I never said a federal prison camp was "a great place to be" - I cannot comprehend how you inferred that from my post.

Unknown said...

GROSS!!! Can we stop talking about rape. It's never okay...even to inmates! They are paying their time and don't need for us to speculate how many times they get sexual violated!

I suspect that the level of violence in prisons is significantly overstated. Bear in mind that we live in a society of lawyers--if someone, as reported above, were repeatedly being abused and the prison authorities didn't put them into protective custody, they'd be hit with a lawsuit in no time flat. Also, prosecutions against violent inmates are not difficult with the dense networks of security cameras installed in most prisons.

Perception =/= Reality. I suspect 99% of the perceptions here come from television and not reality. Seriously, turn off "Oz" and gather the real facts.

My impression of Federal prisons, in particular, is that they are relatively secure places--I haven't heard any instances of serious violence happening to any white-collar criminal. Even state prisons at the minimum-security level can be relatively safe. Only in higher security prisons (ironically!) at the state level do you have real violence. In that situation, any person at high risk could ask for protective custody and probably get it.

Akubi said...

Breaking News Flash!
I believe I have located Casey's Australia connection!

Bubba Brigham said...

Peripheral Visionary, rape is very common in prison for certain types of inmates.

A middle age or elderly guy's chances of being raped are very low.

A tough black or hispanic guy with friends in prison has a very low chance of being raped.

A homosexual male's chances of being raped in prison are very high, no matter the race.

And a young, middle class, passive white male's chances of being raped are almost 100%.

A good site to read up on prison rape is SPR

Read the survivor's stories, and read the attempts to sue prison authorities. These cases are almost always thrown out.

If Casey goes to prison, his life is over as he now knows it.... OOWWWW!!! :-)

From the reports, rapes are about half as frequent at Federal prisions as State prisons. Generally you're likely to do less time at a State prison but it's harder time, and more time at a Federal prison but it's generally regarded as easier time. I'd guess there are exceptions and major overlaps to both of those.

Nope, I mean really... Have I EVER demonstrated (by actions) that I’m fearful of litigation??? (Big GRIN) If the NLL want to pursue, they got a problem, a big one! Not that I’m all that but I do know what they have, and what I do! Still I hold no animosity toward them, but I’ll fight if that’s what it takes.

@ LMM
Probably better that I explain more during the podcast, only because that is faster and I can give more clarity than in writing. Suffice to say for now, the “book” will not be publishd.

Sorry I’m not sure who “B.B.” is.

Theres some hate over at ch.c for Mark taking money out of the settlement that would otherwise have gone to Galina and for some people (I guess they mean Mark and the blog buyer (conjectured to be another "inner circle" member) allowing Casey to "profit" off his situation.

Nigel's Guest Blogger said...

ch.c is quickly turning into a very weird community. thank god this is about over.

LossMitPro said...

@ Relentless
Thanks, yours is one of the questions I’ve been anxious to address (seriously) and I’d like to do that tonight. But for now, know that I have gone above and beyond fairness (in contract settlement terms). So no, Casey didn’t have a lawyer because he doesn’t have the money for one. We agreed he should use what he has for other (very important) issues, like criminal defense.

Not to bait you, truly, but I’m much better explaining in person than on these blogs. So please tune in tonight or listen later? I think you’ll understand more and will appreciate my efforts to be fair.

And as far as those others? You know, they can judge all they want but they weren’t involved and have NO CLUE as to the whys and wherefores. Fact is, Casey’s blog is gone. They either deal with those facts or they don’t, I could care less frankly.

~Mark

Relentless said...

@lmp I'll be there, you dont have to worry about pissing me off by "baiting" also noticed how I phrased the question :) was as much wondering if you brought in your own lawyer as anything(which would explain part of the $1500).

Well, it's been a very weird story.

@Mark: no problem. Tell it on the talkcast if that works better.

Sprezzatura said...

I just home that the $ for selling the blog doesn't go into any account that Casey has any control over, even for a day, because C might well grab it all and run like hell.

Holiday Inn said...

"Suffice to say for now, the “book” will not be publishd."

Probably, but not because it's LMP's decision. As I imagined, looks like LMP didn't think about what joint ownership of copyright means. Good thing the stakes are small, no one has any money for lawyers, and Marty is probably not interested in doing anything with the book anyway, so the book will die off on its own. I'm sure LMP will take credit for shutting the book down, even though LMP's purchase of Casey's joint ownership interest doesn't give him the right to shut it down.

LossMitPro said...

@ maiz
Honest answer. The blog has value for one who can use it’s link value, and make the site into something more productive. As to why, hey, I can’t answer that other than how I have. Web marketing really isn’t my strong point, but I figure it was a fair deal for all. If the buyer is happy, and the seller is happy, what difference does the price make?

@ Sprezzatura
Casey won’t touch that money, he can’t! All arrangements on that line are being finalized, but that was taken into consideration. The money from the blog sale will be used to pay my costs, and pay down G debt. It’s all quite legal and documented. And he’s I’m still involved in facilitating these terms.

@ Holiday Inn
Dude, succinctly… Shut up! You’ve no idea what you’re talking about, truly! Better you sit there and look stupid, rather than typing the words and proving it! Now go get a drink and relax. Chill, I’ve got it covered.
