Wrong Time To Grow A Spine Cupcake

[These won't last so they are posted here for archiving purposes.]

Man… there is some serious amount of hatin’ happenin’ here. I must of hit a sensitive area for some of you people.

Come on, lets be a little bit more reasonable here. I will take a line straight out of the bible…

Those without sin let them throw the first rock. (or something like that… paraphrasing)

In other words, tell me which one of you have NEVER overstated ANYTHING (including little things) on ANY application or resume or tax return or whatever.

[N.B. Your EN host raises his hand.]

Not saying this as an excuse, I’m just trying to put all this in perspective.

208. Casey Serin July 23rd, 2007 at 12:57 pm
Consider my intent for a moment and my actions AFTER getting those 100% loans and cash-back.

1) I was told by gurus that to make lots of money is to buy a house from distressed owner, fix it up and flip it for some sweet cash.

2) I was told to use a mortgage broker (and sometimes real estate agents) to find deals and get financing. I was shown how to get cash-back at close.

3) I do that exact thing and tell my mortgage broker what I’m trying to do and tell my realtor (on the few properties where I used a realtor) what i’m trying to do

4) they show me what I need to do to get it done and find me the right type of financing. In all the cases the loan applications where filled out for me since they knew better what to state, to make it fly, etc…

5) I do my deals, do the loans, get the cash, put it all into the houses and make a bunch of mistakes in the process.

[B.S. Look at the houses, does anyone see where the cashback went into the houses?]

6) I continue doing the only thing I know how at this point to get out of this mess - buy more houses with cash back at close to float the previous houses. My goal is still to finish the rehabs, sell them and pay everybody off.

7) Out of desperation, I buy too many houses, lack of construction experiences causes me spend A TON more money then I planned on and having to manage all these rehabs long-distance get really challenging.

8) So I run out of cash after only having sold 2 houses. I realized i’m screwed as I run out of any other sources of money. I took out more credit lines to finance this whole thing hoping I can make it somehow. But now everything is tapped out and i’m really screwed.

[N.B. Cashcall and Hammar are what he calle "credit lines."]

9) I feel embarrassed at first at this failure, but then get over it and realize there is a great story to be told here. Both to try to get me out of this mess and also to help others.

[So, he's no longer embarrassed.]

10) I start www.IamFacingForeclosure.com last September and now we’re all here.

209. Casey Serin July 23rd, 2007 at 1:01 pm
Reason I haven’t been telling the full story on all this is I’m usually not the one to point fingers.

[N.B. This may be the first time he's admitted the obvious, he isn't telling the full story.]

I’ve always been under the believe that its better to take responsibility, even if its not completely my fault.

[It's a little early to be drinking 200 proof rationalization straight from the tap.]

However, under the circumstances I’m in now and the crazy “movement” (haterz that don’t understand how the industry works) around my story, I regret NOT telling the story the CORRECTLY way from the start.

[Okay, now I'm pissed. It takes a lot for Casey to piss me off but this does it. I know EXACTLY how the industry works. Fliptard STILL doesn't have a frakin' clue and he presumes to lecture? Clearly he's learned that one of his creditors is not rolling over and their solution is not purely a civil matter.]

Because now everybody thinks i’m a “scammer” a “fraudster” a “criminal” etc… Everything was done with good intentions but it sucks how things are turning out.

[Things are just starting to get going Young Snowflake. These are the early innings of a system that will stand in line to spit on what's left after the guys at the front are finished stripping your carcass. P.S. Someone should ask Casey if he is familiar with the phrase "wormsign" and what he thinks of it.]

For only the SECOND time in his "adult" life there are consequences he can comprehend. And this time unlike ruining all his personal relationships this set is not even remotely within his ability to control. Notice how the LMP settlement isn't even important enough anymore to rate even glancing mention? He's also probably run out of lawyer hours at this point as well. I still have one nagging concern and it worries me. Casey has mantained continious health insurance through all this. At the same time we've seen him visibly deteriorate in the last 10 months. I've long wanted to attribute it to stress but that's getting harder to justify in retrospect. It's wrong to speculate but it cannot be dismissed either.

What would the scam with health insurance be? Do Drs. do cashback on surgery now?

Anyway, I was always under the assumption that the 'greatest generation' and the baby boomers ate all the insurance, and anyone under thirty five was just paying to stop the ponzi scheme from visibly collapsing.

It's explanation enough for me: he's been under enough stress, and for enough time, to make any sane person crack. It's only his delusions that have carried him through.

Are you sure he has maintained health insurance? I'm and expert in health insurance and have investigatede numerous fraudulent health insurance scams. I really find it hard to beleive he's kept the coverage in force. For a couple as young and seemingly health as Casey and spouse that coverage would have gone long before the Car insurance.

It didn't cost me one red cent to learn it. I read up as well as being a homeowner twice over.

You are one dumb kid.

I don't know what you're getting at, but a decent amount of his physical "deterioration" is his own doing -- actually, from the pictures taken at his recent fraudcasts, he looks better physically (weight, skin color) than in those Declan photos from two months back.

He would look almost normal if he just made some cosmetic changes. I don't understand why he seemingly refuses to get a haircut, and his uber-gay 1970's wardrobe needs to be burned. Shaving that dopey soul patch wouldn't hurt either.

Yes, I Lied on My Loans!
No more excuses! It’s true. I lied on my loans.

I overstated my income, and misrepresented my owner-occupied status and concealed the cash-back-at-close from the bank. I knew it all along. Nobody made me do it. It was my fault. I take full responsibility. And, that’s how I originally started this blog.

But then… I started to spin it.

First I though I will be some kind of “whistle blower” - exposing the industry, bad real estate gurus, etc. I then realized how stupid that was - I have no expertise or credibility to expose anything. I am guilty myself.

Second, I tried blaming the banks. They made these loans so easy to get, so it’s their fault. WRONG! Easy or not, a lie is a lie! I am guilty and should not try to weasel out of it.

That was WRONG and STUPID.

I want to apologize to all my friends, associates and readers of this blog.

What started as an honest attempt to write about my situation turned into a spinning act and subtle blame shifting.

I even went back and edited some of my earlier posts to make myself sound better. I am truly sorry I let myself fall into that. I will be restoring my posts to the original version later today or tomorrow.

[UPDATE: I restored my first post and added some good detail. That’s where I first mentioned “liar loans”. Check it out: Why I am Facing Foreclosure. ]

Now what??

No more lying to cover up old lies.
No more blaming - I did it
No more spinning and trying to make myself look better
I take full responsibility
I will pay whatever price I must
I will do whatever I must do to MAKE IT RIGHT!
And… No More Ads!. I need to cover my hosting bill, so I can stay online and help more people with my story.
So… I lied on my loans. I got over-extended. I am facing foreclosure. The lenders stand to lose hundreds of thousands of dollars over my mistakes. My questions to you is….

What can I do to make it right?

Tell it to the hand. If the gurus told you to jump off a bridge, would he do it? Of course not.

Gray area or not, ignorance of the law is no excuse.

I want these mortgage fraudsters big and small caught and tried and put away. Period.

Judging by his statements thus far, I am guessing endgame is near. He appears to be desperately trying to divert blame by professing his innocence and trying to indicate he was "misled" by the evil and nefarious Darth Lender.

Sorry Snowflake, but the gig is up. Unless he can provide evidence that he was coerced into his actions, I sincerely doubt any of that would be a viable defense.

Oh, please! I could get into the great sermons I've heard on this topic, but I'll just get it the meat of why Christians who have actually studied/learned about this get mad.

Jesus spoke this line to people who are getting ready to stone a girl to death who was caught in the act (sex) with a man. Many scholars believe that this was a trap for Jesus, and they used this woman, who may have been an unmarried girl, hence 9-13 years old at that time. They believe that she may have been seduced by some man and then they dragged her out there (bringing up the possibility of some state of undress). Also, if they were following Jewish law, the man was supposed to be there too to be stoned. Hence, if it was a trap, most to all could see it as those men were more guilty than the girl and therefore had no RIGHT to demand her death. Also, at the end of the story, Jesus doesn't condone her actions and tells her to sin no more.

Are you listening Casey?

Yep the endgane is clearly upon us - this is simply a last ditch effort to:

A) Divert blame to others. This will not work! All of the previous posts that we've just dug up are in the hands of whoever is after KC. This diversionary tactic has only emboldened the Haterz and his forthcoming attempts to back off this stance will be extremely difficult! This was a huge tactical error that has big shark teeth one inch from his ass!

B) Good old fashioned troll. Casey knows the gig is up. This is probably his last effort to extract maximum dollar from IAFF as a domain before it goes away. If you think KC is NOT trying to cut a deal behind his own lawyer's back you re mistaken. Next move?? Take money, run.

KC: Consider my intent for a moment and my actions AFTER getting those 100% loans and cash-back.

Let's paraphrase this a bit more:

"Consider my intent for a moment and my actions AFTER breaking into the store and stealing all of those shiny objects."

This has got to be one of the stupidest things I've ever heard him say. And with the new intent-based (ie 'hate') crimes, it's always the intent BEFORE the action that counts, not after!!! DUH!

And even if taking him at his word, it doesn't get any better, as he then proceeds to blow all of the sweet cash back on get-rich quick schemes.

Oh, the stupidity!

Motivation is greed.

Casey you broke the law, in fact you paid Guru’s lots of money to learn how to commit these types of fraud because you are greedy. You never added any value to those homes; you are a slimy criminal that is now boxed in so you strike at the people who gave you the money. If anything they should sue your ass! You were trained in how to scam as much money as possible from the mortgage companies, now you’re hoping that they forgot to cross a ‘t’ or dot an ‘i’ in the mountains of paperwork and find grounds to claim you were the victim.

Once again I re-affirm my hopes that you do sue the banks, and then they will strike back at you and expose your crimes to a judge. As soon as we Haterz find out who you are suing we are going to contact your opponent’s lawyers and give them the 411 on your crooked ass. You show up in court, take the stand (you need to take the stand because you are the plaintiff, without your testimony you have no case) then when you get cross examined you will have to either perjure yourself, plead the 5th or confess to crimes like cash back or mortgage fraud in front of a judge who will arrest you right then and there just like in the movie “A few good men”.
You feel like answer these in front of a judge:

1) Mr. Serin, did you get cash back after closing that the bank was not made aware of?

2) Mr. Serin, is this your signature on the loan document stating that this will be your primary residence and not a investment property? Did you ever live at this address? Why does your website state this was an investment property?

3) Mr. Serin, you stated that you made over $75,000 a year, do you posses IRS statements validating this? Can you provide check stubs or any other proof you were earning that much when you signed this loan document which you claim was deceiving you and the reason for this suit?

4) Mr. Serin, you stated on this form you had no other loans, outstanding debts or properties when you filed this loan document yet we six other loan documents for six other homes that were filed. Did you lie on this loan document?

In any event if you plead the 5th after every question given you will look like a scam artist and crook, because your testimony will be important to the case you will lose.

We are only at the precipace of this housing debacle. Once it gains additional steam, the masses will begin screaming for blood. Many big fish will fry in the proverbial pan, but a few minnows will get tossed into the stew as well.

What is interesting is that I think Casey has far more to worry about pertaining to his usage of "corporate credit" than he does from the mortgage fraud. I think that could lead to some dire consequences. Sad part is, Madame Olga (i.e. "mom") may get thrown under the bus as well.

There's one thing I've never been able to figure out about the whole Casey saga, and some of this recent kerfuffle touches on it.

When I recently bought a home, I had to bend over backwards to prove my income and assets. I had to turn in W-2 forms (yep, a W-2 looser am I), recent paystubs, bank statements, investment statements, and all other kinds of financial documentation to the lender.

Now I know I wasn't going to some back ally sub prime lender. But even Countrywide Full Spectrum (the subprimer Casey tagged with two bad loans) want some documentation. According to their website they want a "Complete copy of previous year's federal tax return" and a "Copy of year-to-date Profit and Loss statement" when you take out a subprime loan with them.

Now I know that some mortgage lenders are flexible. But did Countrywide really see some twentysomething guy sashay in asking for hundreds of thousands in loans, then figure, "OK, this guy sounds legit, we'll waive the documentation requirements"?

Hardly defending a thief here--just as I wouldn't defend a burglar who climbed in an open window. But how come Countrywide left their window open?

Casey -

This post states very clearly why your w*** needs to be free of you.

You lie
You cheat
You change your story

You are unbelievable.

In no way were you the "victim" of lenders. Your lenders lost money because you had no clue about what you were doing. Sure, you paid thousands of dollars to attend guru seminars, but I am increasingly convinced that you only learned what you WANTED to learn and all other vital and useful information went in one ear and out the other.....

You hear only what you want to hear. If anyone has a different opinion or disagrees with you in anyway, you label them a "hater."

G***** is so much better off without you in her life. I'm certain you treated her with the same behavior as you've treated everyone else... which is a "let's do it" attitude until you think it isn't in your best interest and you cry "foul" and then either whine, bitch or moan that you are being bullied.

You need to take responsibility for the mess you've created and understand that as a result of your actions, you have damaged relationships (potential business associates, future employers, friends, family and your w***) that can not be repaired.

The damage you've cause and the loss of these relationships (most importantly, that of your marriage) is part of the cost associated with your lies.

Sadly, until you actually take responsibility (you say you take responsibility, but thus far, really have not done so) and change your behavior, you are destined to repeat the same mistakes over and over and over.

I know Casey isn't a Mexican, but why should a Russian criminal get a pass that a Beaner wouldn't? If Casey was a Mexican, he'd be featured on Lou Dobbs by now.

Why do Russian criminals get a pass? If you say they don't, then explain CASEY?

That's what law enforcement sometimes does, threaten a dimbulb minor player like Casey with prison unless he informs on and helps convict higher-ups.

That's what Countrywide says now. That didn't used to be their policy.

Aaron Lomax was a deadbeat tenant whom I started to sue for not paying me rent. This was my first property, a condo in Sacramento that I bought when I was 19. I sold it a year later because the market was hot and I stopped getting rent. It was my mistake for letting him in there. He came straight from an eviction and I didn’t even check his background. So I did the cash-for-keys program instead of trying to evict. However the money I gave him to move out was a loan. Plus he owed me for a month or two rent I think. All together it was about $2400 I think. He signed a promissory note to pay it back within a certain amount of time. He never did. So I started to sue him but then decided to not bother. The $35K I made on the sale of the property covered my loss and I just forgave him and moved on.

I don't see anything new in this latest version of his story. His intent was to get filthy rich flipping houses by lying on loan forms and taking illegal amounts of cashback on his loans. Despite his willingness to commit fraud, his ignorance of how to improve houses plus his inability to perform basic mathematics did him in. His "double down" strategy was insane from a business standpoint. It wasn't even good gambling! He would have ended up with 16 houses if he could have gotten away with more fraud.

I'm sure he would be shocked to discover that people have made lots of money flipping houses without committing fraud.

That's what astounds me as well, when I bought my house I put 20% down, had enough liquid assets to cover my mortgage for a year and not a penny of debt, no car payments, no student loans, no credit card debt, I still felt like I had to jump though tons of hoops to get my loan, they wanted pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, one of the assets I was claiming was a CD that happened to have one of my parents names attached to it because I had it before I turned 18 and had just kept rolling it over with their name attached to it, I had to completely take it out of their name and then provide documentation that I was the now the sole owner of the CD, it was the biggest pain in the ass.

And I was buying a condo well within my W-2 income, I just can't fathom how Casey managed to do what he did.

I think what kangatard fails to understand is the line between lying an exaggeration. He seems to see no distinction between them.

Have any of us exaggerated before? Most certainly. Have any of us emphasized aspects of ourselves and downplayed other qualities to positively skew ourselves a certain direction? Most definitely.

But how can one equate completely and outright lying on a mortgage application, acquiring cash back at close and borrowing from a shell corporation to some shmoe that may have embellished himself on a resume?

He is grasping at straws. As I mentioned, it looks like the hounds are circling and like any typical COWARD, Casey tries to offer a sacrifice to save his own carcass. In this case, in the form of the "evil and corrupt lenders".

Sorry Anakin, but Darth Lender didn't stick a lightsabre up your hersey highway and force you to join the Dark Side. You did that all by yourself.

This has also completely stumped me from the beginning of the saga. To get a loan for my house almost 15 years ago (just a few more payments!), I pretty much had to hand the bank every piece of paper I had with my name on it. They refused to give me a loan until I could find a bank statement from two years ago!

Now snotty little punks with no jobs can walk in off the street and walk out with a no-money-down loan and buy a house bigger than mine. No wonder the housing market is sham. The only good thing is that the bank is just loaning these people rope to hang themselves.

By the time Casey had his sweet sound system yanked out of his car, I already had a house full of brand new stuff thanks to my incredible ability to pay my insurance company every year. Meanwhile, Casey was trying to figure out how to get the broken window replaced.

Looks like the $1500 for the lawyer is the best investment Snowflake has made. Looks like he is starting to understand just how deep a hole he is in.

Looks like the chicks are coming home to roost, and they are buzzards waiting for dead meat (or soon to be)..

One can hope. BTW, someone set the industrial meat-grinder Snowflake has his foot caught in to "slow"...make the enjoyment last longer.

"Looks like the $1500 for the lawyer is the best investment Snowflake has made"

Feh...he's still going to have to eat the big shit-biscuit, whether he lawyers up or not.

And knowing how Shitflake follows good sound advice, his retainer,(if he even spent one), will be proven to be a gigantic waste of time.

That's the funny thing about everyone getting PO'd at his Goo-Roos in this context.
Fliptard could have gone to Wharton or any other top-notch business school, and being what he is, he would have ended up in exactly the same place that he is now.

Anyway, he's squealing again...bite him HARDER!

@Lou: Casey is stealing bandwidth by not hosting those photos on his own account.

Given that it's a plug for his advertiser -- and probably a paid $250 "review" plug at that -- I doubt they mind that much.

The latest from Purva Brown; what a f'ing idiot.

From her blog:
How Real are Sacramento Real Estate Statistics?

Look, no one is arguing that inventory is up, short sales and foreclosures abound and sales are down. What I have trouble with is how this information is being used to make you think the sky is falling when it's not.

I left a long reply on a Casey thread on her blog. I never went back because I felt she wasn't for real, that someone was playing a practical joke and I fell for it. I guess supply and demand theory isn't a big deal to some realtors.

Subsonic,
Purva is being used by her broker, John Lockwood. You need only look at his last post on her previous article.

i've misused a stated income loan (a little), cheated on my taxes (a little), and fudged my resume (a little). it is true. but if i told you the scope of the crimes, you'd laugh.

"JohnDiddler: He didn't cheat... a lot."

So did Casey get all the loans through the same broker? Did he go to 8 different brokers? Why would he have to go through 8 if he found 1 that would allow him to lie on even 1 application? Seems to be much more efficient to just go through 1 source. If they're gong to fudge it, they could've fudged it any old way.

If that broker would do it say, only once, then he'd have to find other brokers too. What a coincidence to find so many "shady" loan officers without 1 of them saying it was illegal and that they would refuse. Did they all give him loans w/out verifying income?

You know someone had to have refused him at some point which would prove that he knew exactly what he was doing was illegal. He just moved on to the next one. How many brokers did he really approach to carry out his scheme?

Brokers are smarter than that. All the one/two deal brokers can claim they didn't know about the others.

I am a mortgage broker and situations like this are exactly why I stay away from most stated loans. In the lenders eyes, if things go wrong, they will come to me first to see if I worked the system to get the job done. I just don't want that risk. I turn down a few clients every month because they need to go the stated route and I KNOW they are not making what they state. I would rather sleep well at night.

That being said, there are more brokers that are very happy to write these loans than those that are not.

Yes the brokers are partly responsible but the lenders are there as well. They create the guidelines, we follow them. Why would a lender ever create a stated program for wage earners at 100%. It just makes no sense at all. Self employed, well, at least I can understand that.

I'm actually surprised so many brokers would write these w/out verifying. It also seems ludicrous that he would blame 8 different brokers/lenders when, to me, it says more about his willingness to lie to acquire more houses than to claim he's a victim.

He's delusional if that's his defense.

An IAFF reply: Of course your intent with this posting is to start the haterz speculating about you possibly running off to Norway.

Norway? No Way is more like it. It's over and bun boi knows it and he is just getting scared and random.

Different people seem to be perturbed by different things about Casey - the murse, free-wheeling spending when he is deep in debt etc.

I guess as an old-fashioned socialist, what grates at me is his desire to get "passive income". To me, this is just old-fashioned exploitation, he wants someone else to work, while he just sits back, takes the money, and reaps the reward.

While he seems good at not working and living off others, this is not the method little proles get to be capitalists or real estate tycoons. It is pretty well known how people climb up this ladder - hard work and discipline combined with a little common sense and a little good luck (or at least avoidance of bad luck). Even with all of that it is very, very rare for someone to go from rags to riches - usually a lot of hard work combined with a little luck gets you from poverty to working class, or working class to middle class, or middle class to upper class.

There is a cosmic justice to this lazy, egocentric kid being swindled by the Kiyosaki's and the like of the world. This is just the type of rube they look for - someone babbling about their "maker" all the time. Or regurgitating how they are special snowflakes because , unlike the rest of the world, family is important to them (except if it means actual things like responsibilities, or interfering with essential brainstorming trips to Lake Tahoe or Australia). These holy rolling, not too bright, egocentric types are just the kind of suckers the Kiyosaki's and DeVos's of the world use as their bread and butter.

What lance said.

If you recall the etymology of "Snowflake," you realize that Casey is by no means unique. A lot of these "Generation Y-ers" have the same view - they are special, rules and consequences don't apply. I deal with this age group in my work, and you'd be amazed at how commonplace this attitude is. Casey is just the extreme right-hand tail of the distribution.
