Yes, and municipal budget disasters and the new hired gun lawyer to defend San Buenaventura's impending illegal zoning changes. The fine print on what FDIC really insures. I'll probably have a few words about tonights world premier of John William's latest "Potter" score at the Hollywood Bowl.

This is intermission. The first acts were necessary to protect society. That sounds arrogant/egotistical whatever. Sorry but if people had not spoken up Casey'd have moved on to bigger things. If the Corp Credit details had not been raised here do you think he would have stopped where he did? If the secret trip to Australia had remained secret do you think there might be an offshore account by now? All the "we are watching," "what you plan is illegal" was all true and Casey has admited it. There's going to be a lot of cleaning up around the edges. Who owns the rights to the story for instance. Who is held liable for certain debts. Then theree's the upstory; who enabled this serial real estate fraud? Is there enough to go after any gurus? We any investment clubs practicing law or RE without licienses? There will be more but unless Casey has fooled almost everyone with a great performance it won't be about personal stuggles. At least not from me.

I can't keep track anymore since I've been busy at work.

LMP is an unknown.
LMP is an ass after the fraudcast.
LMP is great because of the legal filings.
LMP is an ass cause he's going to get the case thrown out.
LMP is ok since the suit has been delayed.
LMP is an ass cause he got paid and nothing else happened.

Is that the scorecard thus far?

The Casey Serin Saga officially qualifies as (Comic Book Store Guy voice) Best. Internet. Drama. Ever.

I had my doubts about the sincerity of the most recent stated efforts at making changes, but the sale of the domain is critical. Actions speak louder than words, and while the trainwreck watchers have heard all the words before, the sale of the domain is for real. While Casey still retains the potential for trying to get out of the book deal rights contract, there's nothing he can do to get the domain back. He's taken a very real step toward a new future, and he knows it.

I wish him and his family the best; it's not over, not by a long shot, but after so many steps backwards he's finally taken one big step forward.

It looks like Snowflakes days are numbered, she's already hitting the local club scene.

You know, people need a bad guy in this story. Looks like I’m it! But ya can’t please everyone in a situation this complex, from a behind the scenes perspective. So if it makes people happy to have a villain in this melodrama? No big deal -- may as well let them have their entertainment.

After all, what good drama doesn’t have a heavy?

Mark, fuck that noise brother.

You played and forced a hand. Had you not made things serious for Casey, as Rob said, what would be the next move.

He would have likely taken off for Colorado or some other supporterz location full of enablers.

He would not have easily came home from Washington either.

Fuck that noise.

Mark forced his hand. Now Casey will face what we all wanted him to face...the music. The Fed, the lawyers, the debts, his wife, his family, all of that.

It took a deal.

Mark made a compromise for the team. I admitted yesterday (without knowing the whole story) that from my perspective there was no solid endgame that would satisfy me. I've slept on this one and while I still think he was bailed out, this is still the better scenario over suicide, leaving the country for good, continued scamming, getting arrested on the spot, or turning to other things.

This is what is best for G. This is what is best for Casey.

People can argue that Duane and Mark took advantage of him and his situation, but let's face it. The story was at the end, and needed an ending. This way, it's "win-win-win".

Ahhhh, no, irrespective what folks may think? Casey can’t get those book rights back unless I assign them back (and I shall one day). And THAT was Casey’s choice, not my doings!

And as far as the domain sale, that too is essentially out of Casey’s hands. I also have sale rights to the domain, he can’t back out now (ANOTHER Casey requested provision). So based on these hard facts, I have to think the man is serious. And baring no strange turn of events? This story is essentially over, as far as IAFF is concerned.

@ SouthernBread
Thanks. There were some compromises on my part, but I’m glad some folk see there was an end strategy to what only APPEARS like advantage. ;)

With all due respect, LMP, I think you're underestimating Casey's capacity for delusion. Didn't you hear his voice last night? It was flat and monotone -- except when he started talking about what he was going to do next. He started talking about blogging, and marketing, and real estate, and all of a sudden there was life and passion in his voice. He didn't even talk about Galina like in the same tone. Clearly, it's the only thing he loves. And Duane said that there is no non-compete in place w/r/t IAFF.com.

The story is not over for Casey. He's not going to fade off into the night unless he goes to jail. Mark my words.

Peripheral Visionary said...

@LMP: "Ahhhh, no, irrespective what folks may think? Casey can’t get those book rights back unless I assign them back (and I shall one day). And THAT was Casey’s choice, not my doings!"

I see the domain deal as different from the book deal. When he turns over the keys of the domain, it's done, and there's no reversing it. Plus, the fact that there's a signed contract for the domain means that Duane can force its turnover by presenting the contract to the domain provider.

I do believe Casey intends to honor the contract on the book rights assignment, but it needs to be said: he signed a contract signing over rights in the past that he completely violated. Granted, that particular contract was, by all accounts, unenforcable, but all I am saying is that previous actions must be taken into account.

I don't think he's getting the domain back, but there's a chance, even if not a big one, that he'll try to get around the book rights contract ("I only signed over the rights for my story on facing foreclosure, not my story facing the Feds!" etc.) I'm sure you're perfectly aware of that, I'm just saying that the risk is out there.

Rob Dawg said...

LossMitPro,
I think you need to reconsider PVs point. Casey still retains the potential for trying to get out of the book deal rights contract. I fully expect some of this as well. A little backsliding is to be expected. There's going to be shiny objects and sometime maybe even a month or two from now Casey will hint that he proven himself and it may be time to get something going with the story righrs. Something like that. This doesn't mean I don't think Casey can make it, it means he's going to backslide a little like anyone would.

No, that would be Casey.

Mark - you don't rate high enough to be the bad guy, get over yourself.

Here is a question for you: Duane has put in more effort on all this and had far more out of pocket cost, yet he is going out of his way not to make a profit - proceeds from the site going to charity and all that.

You bullied CS into paying you more than simple court costs, you've pulled a profit off of others misery.

The question: Do you see the difference? Can you understand why people have respect for Duane and contempt for you?

Character shows in ones actions.

It is interesting to see the results when you google your name - not a pretty picture. You've earned that as a legacy from all of this and it is a result of your actions, not Casey's.

I realize you're trying to look out for Casey, but you're not his father. Stop acting like one, and let speak for himself.

By letting you stay unmuted last night, he allowed you to answer all his hard questions while he sat back let you do the dirty work. Stop letting him feed you your 15 minutes, and let him face his own music.

One last observation: while I think Casey has taken a very important step in the right direction, I think he is at high risk for future involvement in "shady" activity. I have seen this with other people: they'll get involved in something questionable, then will get "scared straight", go back to the respectable life for a little while . . . then, a few months or years later, it's back into the "gray areas."

The get-rich-quick bug might be half asleep for now, but it may re-awaken. Casey may go back to doing IT or general office work, but it simply would not surprise me to find out that he ends up selling herbal supplements of questionable value for a Utah County-based MLM.

First off, congratulations Mark V. Job well done and thank you for putting a stop to this thief.

Now, for what I want to say. Casey is a con-man at heart. I am hopeful that he will change, but I dought it - very obvious listening to him last night.

The only reason Casey backed down was self-preservation, nothing else.

This kid is the kind of kid that has to be watched for the rest of his life.

The only thing that will redeem Casey is time and time alone. After years of Casey doing the right thing with a proven track record of not committing any more crimes, is the day I will consider him back to normal. Until then, watch you.

One last thing, I am more than willing to bet the farm that this is NOT the end of Casey crimes or "shady deals". Just watch.

Duane worked hard to help Casey. Casey blew him off.

Rob tried to expose every lie and the little fucker thought he could always stay 1 step ahead of the possie.

He ignored and lied to his wife and family.

Hundreds of folks tried to tell Casey the error of his ways. He just grinned that stupid smirk and blew them off.

It was not until LMP used the courts to corner that little rat that he started to smarten up.

It will take time to see if Casey gets the message and goes straight.

People talk about prison or the IRS like that is the worst that could happen to him.

The thing Snowflake best understand is that when you run with lowlifes and then steal from those same dirtbags, they don't all just walk away. Sometimes you wake up half alive in a shallow grave while someone is tossing dirt on your face for screwing with them.

Just because this has been white collar crime doesn't mean evil people will not get phyiscal.

Short answer; a C.C.P. 664.6 motion, with respect to the book rights. And Constitutionally no one but law enforcement can condition Casey to STOP blogging, at least I couldn’t by way of any civil settlement and expect to get away with it.

My opinion is split several ways.

I feel that Casey believes he has turned a corner.

I feel he deserves a chance to demonstrate that he has changed. I unfortunately feel that his expectations of what that transformation should earn him and what it will actually get him will come into conflict. That will be the real test. Can Casey accept the consequences?

Again my opinion is one that does not matter. Casey claims to be ready to accept the consequences but I think that is only because he is still processing them for the first time rationally.

What is funny to me, is when Nacho paid $250 with good intentions of helping Casey and Casey blew her off royally.

Nacho was so pissed and distraut at Casey tatics that she had to take time off.

It's only a matter of time before a new shiny thing passes Casey's way and he will be back to it. Just like a drug adict.

You guys (Mark, Duanne, etc) are very smart with legal things, but you know nothing about human nature.

Again, I will repeat, I HOPE Casey changes his criminal ways, but this kid has given AMPLE warnings to everyone of who he is and what he is capable of doing.

Unknown said...

So how many times over the next few years will G and family have to hear about how much he "gave up" for her?

Eric said...

@Rob, everyone...

I don't think it's about Casey's personality changing. I think it's about Casey giving up on trying to get out of this with one good deal. Or trying to get rich quick. He has to give up on this dream and embrace and accept reality. Personalities don't change that quickly.

He said last night that he avoided Marty because he knew he would buy in on what he had to say. Just like with most of the MLM garbage, and the other great ideas he's had and scaminars. He buys the hype, gets too excited and make a decision.

When he gets tempted again, and he will. He will get excited. He will feel the urge to go for it. He will have to stop himself a few times before it becomes habit. Then, overtime, he won't get as excited. He might even become skeptical. After about 5-10 years of this, he will learn to be able to judge these opportunites as they arrive. Then he might even become a good businessman.

Just my two cents....

1. What was the actual nature of the complaint(suit) you had against Casey. What damages?
2. What was the purpose of the assignment of book rights to you? Was it to prevent Marty from publishing the book?
3. Did you and Casey discuss the selling off of the blog and was it a stipulation in your settlement?
4. Did you at any time before or after your lunch with Casey speak to Duane regarding the selling of the blog, assignment of book rights or anything else regarding a settlement?
5. Who exactly informed Casey that the FBI was investigating him? When was he informed? Where and/or how was he informed?
6. Did the FBI (and other 3 letter agencies) investigations, ever come up during your talk with Casey when you two settled your suit?
7. Why did you stipulate that Casey should pay you $1,572.50 - when you know full well, and stated so, yourself that he has nothing? That money could go to Galina's CC debt.
8. Do you think Marty should be compensated for his time, effort and expenditure? Why or why not?
9. Should Marty seek judicial relief against Casey for the book deal, what are you prepared to do?

Thanks.

@LMP

good going with the case, regardless how it happened (yes I'm curious like others what the exact "come to jesus" or lightbulb moment was, and the whole timing/how of the FBI is a little weird).

But from everything you have said, Casey basically gave you the farm of his own free will(and then agreed to pay/reimburse you).

I just hope your contract is solid (and whatever contract he/you signed with Duane, I expect Duane has a I __ sell domain __ to Duane Legate for $__ attorney approved standard contract for this).

My bet is Casey being Casey will eventually at least look at this with some desire to squirm out of parts. I just dont want to hear "that settlement was MONTHS ago!".

This whole thing came together pretty quick, not crapping on your past legal work but you do have a well harped on tendency to make mistakes :), hopefully someone vetted the agreement. I also hope you can control/Casey can control himself for another week before his honor (Mcmaster?) can bind this legally (I dont quite understand what role the court would play in blessing the agreement but again..I can spell law thats about it.)

And heres to hoping Marty doesnt become the fly in the ointment, I cant see him selling the book (even if somehow he gets away for it) "The unauthorized Casey Serin story" isnt going to make the NY times bestseller either.

Unknown said...

I'm really confused. The IAFF domain was not worth $20K. Whatever it's worth now is going to drop quickly in the next few months. We laughed at Casey's $100K offer. I would have laughed if he had offered $20K. Why is this an anti-Casey victory?

And the rights to what book? The one that Casey was going to self publish at Kinkos? The one that everyone laughed at and said wouldn't sell 500 copies? Why is that something to celebrate about?

Overall, it sounds like Casey finally got a sweet deal. He finally sold something that's not worth much and dropping in value for more than it's worth, and he sold something that was always worthless.

Casey finally got what he felt he deserved. No wonder people think it sounds like he's changed because for the first time in his life, he got the good end of a deal. Once Galina takes him back, he'll be right back to scamming for his riches.

And I'll believe the FBI stuff as soon as he talks to Feds with badges instead of giving him what could have been a crank call.

LossMitPro,
I listened to the podcast. I'm asking for clarification. Honestly I feel you're skirting important issues. Maybe I've overloaded the number of questions? Ok, I'll limit it to just two:

Last night, you said:
"Bottom line is this: we come out of the chambers and, by the time we come out of the chambers, it was disclosed at some point uh, that Casey was under investigation."
Did you, or did you not notify Casey that he is currently under an FBI investigation in the Judge's chambers? If not, who notified Casey that he was under investigation by the FBI (and/or any other agency) in the Judge's chambers.

I will respect the issue of the Casey/Marty...er... Mark/Marty book deal and what interests Marty may or may not have with that book deal until you two have your discussion. However, I respectfully ask what was the purpose of assignment of the book rights to you. Was it not to circumvent the business agreement that Casey and Marty had in play and to prevent the publication of the Foreclosure Code book?

Please, sir, answer these two very direct questions.

Thank you.

The suit did not cost you $1,500.

Wow, the breakdown of the "Casey Community" is pretty interesting. Is this typical for an Internet phenomenon?

This whole situation was based around someone who was doing some bad things and continued to do them.

A few actually got involved beyond the "fun and internet sleuthing" and did something about it.

Casey is done (and has been doomed for a while but just didnt realize it.)

Now people don't like the methodology that got us here and are going off to pout.

Bizarre.

My actions are enough. How I carry myself in business and life speaks volumes... to me. And that's what I care about. And perhaps the most important thing I may possess is not wealth, or respect or adoration from others but ethos. Something that has and will forever elude you. The rest simply fall into place.

Good luck to you, Mark.

Rather, the only motivation was to rectify the wrongs in his marriage and nurse it back to health.

As much as I would love to answer your question, the point would, ostensibly be is moot.

dcs1000 said...

SB,

You're asking me to answer a question that has already been answered, by the man himself, Casey. Apparently you want me to offer "another" scenario in which Casey could have achieved the same result: being forcibly stripped of his blog, potential lucrative book publishing deal, and the civil liberty to post on the Internet. Is this what you're asking?

You're essentially asking a loaded question, the great equalizer in fact. Despite the ridiculousness of this, I will give you my perspective however it will obviously not be the answer you want.

Casey has some serious dysfunctional issues but he was not, ever, a physical danger to himself or anyone else. So it would have suited me fine for Casey's "situation" to have resolved itself at it's own pace. In fact the wheels have already been set in motion with Galina resent moves. I think she's better off with out him. He abused their relationship and never appreciated her. (But he's come to realize that.)

Casey hasn't learned a damn thing being forced to do the things he's had to do in the passed few days. He may convince himself that he chose to quit this life for his wife, but the reality is, he was under immense emotional (and financial) pressures. Exactly how the current events played out, we will never know because parties involved will never discuss them publicly.

So you want to know how else this would have been resolved? Galina would file for divorce. Mortgage companies would have finally sold off the homes Casey bought and sued Casey for the losses. Cashcall would have filed suit. During the suits, but most likely after, after Casey has been found to be in severe neglect of numerous laws, Fed, state and/or local authorities would have launched criminal charges against him and his ass would be in jail.

All things which are still going to happen. Galina will also still be on the hook and her credit will still be fucked.

So there you go, I just wasted my fucking time, entertaining you and answering your dumb question.

Eric said...

A dumb question, maybe? But you have enlightened me to your position.

I'm not trying to bait you, I simply wished to know where you were coming from.

I agree that he is not off the hook on most of that. He will still owe a lot of money. Money that he will likely never be able to fully repay.

Thanks for your time and the response.

Casey's next steps:

1. Talk to Marty about possible deals that won't run afoul of Mark's contract.

2. Try to get Duane to persuade Galina to take him back by keeping up the "I've changed" act for a while.

3. Plan relaunch of IAFF under a new name. The name had to be changed anyway because it's no longer accurate, so getting G's credit cards paid off for it was a sweet deal!

dcs1000 said...

Thanks SB,

I may have not official stated my approval of the Casey world tour coming to an end - but I am ok with it. I'm ok with Casey selling the blog. I'm ok Casey stepping off the internet. I'm not ok, however, with the tactic that was utilized though. My feeling is that Casey is easily manipulated and was under extreme duress.

The book deal is something I'm a little torn on. On the one hand, I think it was probably his only real leverage left. It could have potentially made him some serious money, which if used properly , could have alleviated one or two or more creditors debt (for both Casey and Galina.) I think the one person Casey should have communicated with was his wife. If totally honest and open with her and the family they may have been ok with the book knowing that it could generate some sweet passive income to pay creditors. The only other person Casey should have spoken to was an actual an actual attorney and not a law junkie. The circumstances of the assignment of the book rights is a big thorn in my side because it's perfectly evident that it was done for the sole purpose of circumventing the Casey/Marty business agreement. LMP will pressure Marty to back off, like he pressured Casey. Shyster or not, Marty has legitimate rights to earn his far share of a buck. LMP is, and so is Duane.

@Dick.

I understand many of your obsersations, but have you ever worked with a drug adict?

I have and you can never reason with a drug adict. Casey is no different.

The only thing I see here is way too much optimism - Casey will be back, sooner rather than later.

Casey, right at this momemnt, is going through Sellers Remorse and he is thinking twice if he made the right decision.

Later, when Casey see's that Galina will not take him back and how AWFUL a W2 job can be, how mundane W2 jobs are, how he will be the grunt worker he so much dispices, he will come back to his criminal ways.

Just watch and see. Just like when Mark said all was good between Casey and Him, what 3 times now, watch Mark change his mind yet again.

It's only a matter of time.

Roger Hayes said...

Benoit is right. He'll be back by 8/15/07 and it probably won't take him that long. If that was the real Galina posting last night, it doesn't sound like she's waiting for his return with open arms. Since this ostensible change of heart has to do with getting her back, that reason will not be holding him back much longer.

Of course, there are the other reasons for the the change of heart that those of us in the outer circle don't know about, so that may keep him offline.

Just the fact that the FBI has opened a file on him should be enough for him to never make another public utterance until that is resolved. Yet he continues on with talkcasts and such. Unbelievable. If the FBI doesn't scare him, I can only imagine what the "other" reasons are.

I can't believe he won't be back.

schizoid said...

Did Casey sell iamfacingforclosure.com (no 'e') too or does he still have that one?

crimekate said...

Sharky -

Just heard your comments on the chief100 talkcast. I agree with your general negative impressions of prison (I believe we send way too many people to prison, and that prisons are lousy places), but Casey would likely go to a federal prison rather than a state facility. Federal prisons are much safer and more humane than state prisons (especially in California). Sharky is correct on his assessment of the "schools for crime" aspect of prisons. That said, I've got to agree with Duane - prison might actually benefit Casey. No one can say for certain, but it is POSSIBLE.

Flame me all you like, but I am actually knowledgeable in this area (I prefer to keep private, but trust me, I'm qualified). Prison is not a nice place, by any means, but the image of prison in TV/movies (and perhaps the one story someone heard from a friend) is often overblown. Even the issue of prison rape -- current CREDIBLE research with inmates and former inmates indicates that this is a RARE event. Sorry to burst the bubble of everyone hoping for Casey to be some "bubba's" girlfriend. Unlikely. Possible, of course, but unlikely.

Finally, my two cents: I don't think Casey is going to go to prison (at least not for very long). This whole housing bubble/foreclosure/bankruptcy wave debacle is going to "go down"/be spun as the exclusive fault of the big, evil banks, who deluded poor widdle innocent consumers (who, as adults, can't really be expected to READ what they sign, now can they??) The whole criminal justice system is all about numbers of convictions and hooking "bigger fish". Casey will cooperate and provide those who want to spin it this way with a poster boy, in exchange for a reduced sentence, perhaps not even incarceration. Maybe that's his destiny - to be the poster boy for one thing or another!

The politicized nature of this whole process is also obvious. Senators and Representatives will have a great time making careers (and hay) of this, and introducing bills to regulate lending, blah blah blah.

Watch the film "Maxed Out" for more on this. It's a pretty decent documentary, but gives NO consideraton to the responsibility that people who GET THEMSELVES INTO DEBT have. It's a personal bugaboo of mine. The banks, lenders, and certainly the credit card companies are sleazy as hell, but people are responsible for their own behavior.

/steps off soapboax

serinjustice said...

Yes, Casey will be back.

Just wait til Casey is working a W2 job doing mundane things, grunt work which he has made so much fun of.

Casey will begin to sweat, and remember how much fun he had pocking at W2 workers, grunt workers, how he is so much better that that.

Casey will TURN the moment a shiny new things crosses his way.

Here is the short

someone offered a significant amount more than Duane (he hasnt said as much, more debt than Galina has). Duane has given Casey permission to negotiate until noon tommorrow.

LMP is in the loop (feelings unknown).

I'm of the opinion Duane should enforce the existing contract (for more than one reason), but he feels getting the most money for Galina is most important, which I can't argue.

dcs1000 said...

@ serinjustice
Your 2:12 PM comments... 100% accurate.

My opinion, he will come to the realization that he was "forced" to sell. And will resent it. Just like he has resentment for Galina.

Casey is still chasing the shiny objects. He's still in communication with these fucking supporters who are enabling he misguided adventures. The current shiny object, getting more money for the blog which he already agreed to sell to Duane for 20k. He's had two higher offers, one as much as 35k which he is considering and Duane is allowing him to go for it.

I think Duane should take control of the blog now, and broker any deals on Casey's behalf for more money because Casey will just fuck it up. But Casey as to do it.

It is better to allow the higher bidders a chance to make good on their bids - If CS files for bankrupcy, any asset transfers will be looked at. If he sold the site in a sweetheart deal and not to the highest bidder, the court may reverse the sale.

The worst outcome, of course, will be if someone buys the site and hires CS to continue to produce content. He needs to step away from the blog completely.

That said, I fully expect he will return, he does seem to be addicted to the attention and to be SERIOUSLY adverse to work.

Pleather Murse said...

I posted this before and I'll note it again, I do not believe KC got a phone call from an FBI agent. I don't doubt there is an investigation going on (LMP has said he mentioned this in chambers, though I don't know how he knew) but the FBI does not phone subjects of investigations to let them know they're being investigated.

If they're investigating someone, they will a) meet the individual in person and b) ask all the questions, NOT tip off the subject with information.

Which begs the question, who impersonated an FBI agent in order to prank Fliptard?

The prankster may or may not have known there was a real investigation going on, he may just have guessed, and it would not be an unreasonable guess.

I don't think it was LMP because Fliptard would likely have recognized his voice.

The problem is that the people he pulled down with him would have been further in trouble. Casey was digging fast. That is why I was relating him to trying to be Buckaroo Banzai. Personally, I don't think Casey will be 'fixed' until he hits a real wall, if even then. In the last talkcast, I was still hearing him trying to hedge. I think he will revert. I just wanted to see the people he was dragging down with him released and allowed to recover. If this gives Casey a second chance, so be it so long as later on, he doesn't yet drag others down when he goes AWOL.

”would love to see a breakdown of those $1,500+ costs that are coming out of Galina's money.”

Why? That’s certainly nobody’s business; the costs are quite legit, nonetheless.

What in all these blogs and blogs and blogs is anybody's business but Casey and Galina's? If you'd have minded your own business you wouldn't be involved at all. And frankly your continual hogging of the spotlight is embarrassing.

Of course it's nobody's business. And if you say your costs are legit, that's proof enough for me.

Not.

And Galina will be just fine once this is all concluded, although you’re welcome to off-set my costs and contribute to G’s fund if you like?

Me, offset your costs on a misguided travesty of our legal system? Moi? When you won't even state what they are?! For all I know it's a supply of new mittens from Neiman-Marcus.

I'm a disinterested party, remember. Or, as you call it, a dysfunctional party. Jeesh.

At least you've stopped giving away your lack of schooling by avoiding the word "whom." But if you ever want to learn how to use it, I'm sure there are basic adult school classes in your area.

@dick

I'm not ok, however, with the tactic that was utilized though. My feeling is that Casey is easily manipulated and was under extreme duress.

The method concerned me too, but I also don't know the detail of some of the contracts he has signed. While he might be easy to manipulate, Casey also does a lot of manipulation himself (those that manipulate sometimes have a hard time uncovering when it is being done to them). That being said, I don't think that going to court is manipulating. I also know that he was dragging others down with him. Problem is that if not stopped now, it will only involve more extreme duress in the future. Those that he was dragging down would have been even more adversely affected.

BJ said...

@dick

If totally honest and open with her and the family they may have been ok with the book knowing that it could generate some sweet passive income to pay creditors. The only other person Casey should have spoken to was an actual an actual attorney and not a law junkie.

This is probably true, but the people Casey seemed to like to 'partner' with him, would try to take him to the cleaners on the book. I don't know if there are any other 'considerations' on the assignment of the book. If it is anything like the IAFF sale, I would not be surprised that there would be a revenue assignment.

Unknown said...

Comments are were recently made on the IAFF blog about buying the site from Casey.

However LossPro asked posters to refrain from making offers to buy the domain because Casey no longer controls those sale rights. LossPro does!!

What's that all about?

BJ said...

@John

I think LossMitPro is managing several aspects of Casey's assets to the benefit of debtors.. ie Galina, Casey's mom.

The_Scum said...

Jebus H Christ people (BJ and kate specifically).....can't you tell you're being trolled when the troll not only jumps out from under the bridge but then laughs and bitch slaps you across the face with a 20# trout?

dick is obviously a troll.

His reference to RexReason comes from the CampIdiot board (hell maybe it existed before that) where a troll makes a post with an inflammatory title. Once a person clicks to see the message it's "RexReason sucked nigger dick in prison" with an x-rated video clip of a black guy sucking off another black guy.

Sheesh....jiminy trolling crickets.

BJ said...

Oops wrong effective side of the transaction,

Galina, Casey's mom are almost like creditors because they extended credit to Casey through access of their personal credit line. Now their credit rating is tossed because the credit associated with them has not been paid.

Some of dicks comments are valid, so I answered them (the comments).

But also note his reply to my earlier statement to the effect that there were trolls on this board. I didn't point to him directly. I just said trolls. To which he seemed to identify himself to.

@The_Scum

Uh,... hi there. Yes, I post at CI and FFC, as do many other people here. Including yourself. WTF is that supposed to mean?

My RexReason post above was to someone I though was Rex. You're an idiot.

Unknown said...

I tend to doubt Casey got a good deal or believe he would have sold if he didn't feel backed into a corner.

I also don’t understand why he signed an agreement with LossPro without having someone look over the contract first. Or why decided to show up at court without an attorney. But then I never understood why he bought as many homes as he did with it was obvious the market had turned.

I guess it's only fitting he gets ripped off. Still I would have thought that by this time Casey would have been wise enough NOT to sign anything (esp. those he hooked up with thru IAFF) without having the paperwork reviewed by a lawyer.

Actually I don’t think the guy’s headed for jail but an emotional breakdown? Well, that’s another story.

Casey dug being an internet star but that's coming to a close and with his marriage all but done he’s in for a rude awaking: It’s over. And once that sinks in unless he gets some serious help it’s either the bottle or worse.

Unknown said...

@crimekate
Even the issue of prison rape -- current CREDIBLE research with inmates and former inmates indicates that this is a RARE event.

The research is flawed for two reasons:

First, few men will admit to being raped during a personal interview with a stranger. Second, most prisoners think that a man who yields to intimidation or threats isn't a rape victim.

Hell, most guards think the same thing.

The biggest threat to Casey in the hoosegow will be murder. He will try some scams or gamble on credit. When he can't pay, HE WILL PAY.

I wonder if, in the few minutes between the shank entering his right kidney and him passing out, he will finally realize that he fucked up.

crimekate said...

@bz

You are correct (all research is flawed, in fact) - but yes, your points are correct. However, that doesn't invalidate my point. I didn't put up stats because they are most likely underestimates. However, and really, the current research yields very convincing evidence of this - this particular cliche about prison is really, really overblown. (Look into the Rutgers studies, in particular. And no, I'm not one of the researchers myself).

While murders also happen in prison, it's really not quite the scene portrayed on OZ. (especially federal prisons. I'm not talking about the "Club Fed" clich here, but rather the types of offenses and offenders dealt with in the federal system are very different than those dealt with at the state level.

cheers.

"Regardless of whether the lawsuit was frivolous or not, LossMitPro spent time and money on it." - from IAFF - looks like Casey thought it was frivolous.

JohnDiddler said...

the only explanation of the lawsuit that ever made sense to me was: casey agreed to keep mark anonymous, and then broke the agreement.

no lawsuit that gets casey deposed is frivolous. game, match, and set. name your price! and he did.

JohnDiddler, but none of that ever happened. So kindly stop blathering about fuckheaded hypotheticals.

hi, dick. my, you are a dick!

serinjustice said...

You guys are all for one rude awakening.

Casey will go back to doing "shady" things.

My only question for Mark, is that since you said you would go for Casey's Fucking Throat and then everything is fine and dandy, what are you going to say once Casey does it again to you?

Unknown said...

JohnDiddler said...

serinjustice: i was surprised by the level of anti-Mark, anti-deal hostility on IAFF right now. but i think the basic difference is: Mark is the only person Casey has ever met who will hold him to his agreement. And all Mark has to do to enforce it is get Casey deposed, and open the can of worms that puts Casey ultimately in jail. If Casey violates the agreement, Mark will use Casey's unprosecuted-criminal status to compel him to comply. Deposition is Casey's throat and Mark will take the time to go for it. That's how he's different. So Marty's under the bus, and Mark is not.

Unknown said...

John,

If Casey gets deposed in a civil suit, that will not in any way shape or form get him sent to jail. Things just do not work that way, and it's wishful thinking to think that they do. The judge cannot press charges, the civil suit jury cannot press charges... law enforcement can and they already know all about him doing this stuff and have him admitting criminal behavior on the record in both written and audio form. Yes, they definitely have enough to press charges and win the case. Some little civil suit wouldn't embarrass them into doing something either, this clown has been in USA Today as well as other newspapers and tv shows and radio shows around the world!!! And that's not enough to shame them into action but some frivolous suit by an internet bully IS enough?

I'm sick of hearing this "ooh if we get him deposed then law enforcement would do something." Seriously John, don't speak if you don't know what you are speaking about, it's stupid, its wishful thinking, and it provides people excuses to continue acting sleazily.

Unknown said...

Question: Why would people still visit IAFF once Casey either retires or moves to another site? If he moves isn't it responsible to assume the vast majority of traffic will follow him? Yet, regardless of what Casey does after leaving IAFF will now be without its' major asset: Casey himself.

So how will the new owners expect to make money if traffic crawls to a standstill next month?

Eric said...

So Marty-Mart just posted at www.theforeclosurecode.com that Casey hasn't contacted him yet.

Were we to be surprised? Did we honestly feel that Casey had turned a corner? That his personality would not include such things as dealing with his problems, calling people back, trying to resolve all of his messes?

Or is he simply following the advice of those who are trying to guide him out of the intestinal maze in the hopes of trying to unscrew himself? Only time will tell...

Unknown said...

Now that Mark has settled the lawsuit. I have three questions.

1. Will Mark still help Casey work out settlements with his lenders?

2. Will Duane still give Casey an IT job?

3. Will Galina call off the divorce?

serinjustice said...

It obvious that Casey has already back-slidded since his "coming clean" outage.

I told you so!

I personally support Mark V and Duanne for doing what they did, but what I don't like and it is very obvious by now, is that you Mark and Duanne need to back-off some when people call on you.

One day you want to go for Casey's Fucking throat, sceaming like a mad man, next day it's all good and you and Casey are tickling each other silly.

Please..... You need to settle down a bit and more importanly, when we call you on some things, like why are so nice to Casey now, or why are you so mad at Casey now, you need understand the legit of the question.

serinjustice said...

This is for Casey:

First of all Casey, I am happy that you are trying to turn your life around and stopping your criminal ways.

I honestly hope you succeed.

That being said, you need to face the music now, the destruction you soley created and the many people you ruined emotionally and financially.

So I hope and pray that they throw the book at you, that you end up serving many rotten years in prison and that you pay hard, REALLY hard for all of the damage you have caused.

Once that damaged is paid off (if it can ever be paid off), 30-50 years from now, I then hope you succeed.

Not a heater, not a supporter, but a realist wanting to make sure you now reap what you created.

First step is recognizing that damage you have done. Check.

Second step is knowing that sorry will not excuse nor fix what you have done and time to pay up.

Best of luck buddy and I hope to see a picture of you going to Jail.

Facts Regarding the Foreclosure Book Publishing Agreement
No communication from Casey for six days now to attempt to straighten out this mess.

Later today or tomorrow, there will be an in-depth factual analysis of the publishing agreement that Casey himself leaked out, thus violating his Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA), among other serious breaches of contract. This private agreement is posted all over the internet as a result of his leak.

These will be actual true facts to clear up any speculation that is circulating. This will not be a mud-slinging "let's get back at Casey" type thing. Facts and only facts.

Whatever "book rights" Casey has claimed to sign over, they have nothing to do with our specific agreement with him and the Foreclosure Code Book Series.

We do not need Casey's approval to proceed ahead with publishing the Foreclosure Code book. Our stance is that Casey has breached the agreement multiple times and thus our agreement with him is null and void. The agreement is governed by the state of Nevada, not California.

With no communication from Casey regarding settling any matters, we'll continue to post actual facts to stop any speculation regarding our company and our publishing agreement.

In order to resolve any issues in a fair and balanced manner, Casey needs to contact us.

Watch for the in-depth factual analysis today or tomorrow...

Foreclosure Code Book: When, or if, it Will be Released
There has been a lot of speculation and drama this past week whether or not this book will be published, with, or without Casey. As of today, still no direct contact with Casey for going on five days.

With our company name and reputation, and my personal name and reputation, defamed all over the internet, as a result of being associated with Casey, with apparently many of the leaks coming from Casey himself, multiple breaches of contract, copyrighted material taken, plus, an enormous amount of wasted time, money, and energy, silence can be kept no more.

More to follow depending on how things turn out with Casey...

serinjustice said...

About the 6 days Casey has not called Marty.

Like I said, Casey is alreay back-slidding. What, 1-2 days after the "coming clean" promise?

I met with an agent today about some land I'm looking to buy. The first words out of his mouth, "you work on the internet, have you heard about this Casey guy in California...bunch of hippies". I kid you not.

JohnDiddler said...

whether deposition in a civil suit is a danger to casey or not, he believes it is, so anyone who sues him gets their way. hell, NLL gets their way just for asking. he'll sign ANYTHING, with no professional consultation, and that doesn't seem to change. so marty should sue, and settle over lunch on terms of buying the domain for $20,000, thus protecting the marketing channel for his existing investment, while leasing to whomever to recover costs, and then let mark sue him over this claim that mark owns what marty publishes. anything short of controlling the domain screws marty. of course, i think marty's claims of grand rolodex power are bull and his recent communications about "talking to casey" seem to reinforce that. casey doesn't have anything to tell you, guy.

Benoit,

Seriously, there is something wrong with the registration process at Caseyhaterz.com. I USED to be registered with a user account of "yss43", but somehow my registration disappeared yesterday.

Despite numerous attempts to re-register under different usernames / e-mail addresses, I do NOT get the confirmation e-mail. And no, it is not in my Junk Mail / SPAM folder -- I work in IT so I know how to check for that.

It looks like I'm not the only one having this problem. I would appreciate it if someone could pass this info along to The Dude, T or someone who can look into it. Again, my old userid was "yss43".

thanks!

I didn't care for the way Casey Haterz.com came about and the responses to it from both "sides", but considering the dearth of Casey discussion and news on EN, it seems a registration at CHC is needed for me to continue my pursuit of justice towards SERCASEY. I attempted to register as 'I_L_M_S' but the confirmation email never arrived. Then, I attempted to register as 'ILMS' but the forum software told me that name had been taken. I think this may be a sign that I should return my energies and critiques to the local paper's letters-to-the-editor as opposed to Fliptard's escapades.

As always,

ILMS:

I think we need to get both 'sides' together. Just like Caseypedia serves a purpose and does not compete with EN, so it is with CH.C in my mind.

I see a lot of divisions occuring personally right now, and I myself am in no position to be peacemaker, but I would prefer everyone's attention was on Casey and other topics, not undoing what are really, mutually supportive sites.

A lot of folks have had to try several times to get through the reg process, don't give up! I think Annie has similar problems but was able to work it out, so I put out the call to get someone from over there to give you a hand.

Thanks.
