An Urgent Appointment

Casey: The urgent appointment i had to go to at 6:15 left me feeling very down…. man… things are so tough and so painful. It’s beyond words. I screwed up big this time. I don’t know what to do. I’m gonna try to get some thinking time by going on a long bike ride.

Besdies the obvious that whatever Casey does do the opposite for best results what can we make of this? It obviously involbed "face time" with someone or some ones within 15 minutes of Sacramento. It was late for a lawyer but not too late for a new case burning a retainer. So, family? Friends? Lawyer?

The only worthwhile parsing seems to be that it was a recent screw up that has his blue one in a vice. The rest is just typical mania/depression cycle babble we've all seem before. Right now I'm guessing the only person who could hold Casey to a time certain appointment is Monsieur Eqsuire. I bet it sucks to pay $1500 only to be told "take the deal."

Update: serinitis reports:

I was at the talkcast and had a chance to ask a few questions ahead of time. From what I remember

Casey said he had collected about $500 in donations Mostly in small denominations.

Casey had saved $2-$3000 from the advertising and that is where he got the money for the lawyer

The reason for shutting down the blog is his wife. She however is not speaking to him.

His family relations are fine. I am poor at reading body language but there was something a little off in his answer.

The person offering him the job is doing development in Costa Rica. His trip to Phoenix was not related to NRU.

The lawyer is handling the issues with Mark. He is getting the rights to his story back. With the lawyer in place, Casey is going into LMR ignore mode.

The FBI investigation did not come up. I don't think it is a high priority for him.

He has enjoyed the blogging and I doubt it will stay down for long

Had to meet w/G at 6:15? I don't think that would have been such an important meeting for Casey. So I was thinking the same thing Rob. The realization of his life is becoming clearer and clearer. He can hope that a big bike ride will take care of it, but don't think that's going to get rid of the problem.

I suspect he was given divorce papers.. But thats just a guess.

He's finally realizing he has lost the most important thing in his life.

Kasey S said...

DrifterBee, the most important thing in his life is A) himself and B) his blog. His wife/ex-wife is a distant 3rd or 4th.

Roger Hayes said...

Costa Rica, eh? Any connection to "CostaRican" that posts here?

Kasey,

Possibly, but at 6:15 -- it wasn't his blog lawyer who wanted to talk to him.

Divorce attorney, maybe..

But what do I know? I just yack on BBSes about speculate about shit I know nothing about.

I think it is becoming SLOWLY and painfully obvious to Sir Casey Fliptard that he has fubared his life up beyond all recognition.

The shiny things he chases just aren't as shiny anymore.

The dark grey of his depressing reality is closing in. Slowly, slowly, slowly closing into darker and darker.

At least Galina has pulled her head out of her ass and is dealing with a bleak reality in order to make it better. She's hitting bars looking for another guy to save her.

@The_Scum,

How could you blame her for hitting the bars and seeking a replacement? She's been poorly treated by her husband and is in a very bad situation financially due to his actions.

Instead of protecting, honoring, and supporting her - he has done everything but.

We shall see. Yolo or Sac Court should have an interesting filing or two if this is the case..

More fuel:

Possible IRS related and may or may not envolve frozen accounts.

The only thing Casey recognizes is serious action.

Jailtime isn't going to scare him unless the handcuffs are on. Cut his bank account and he will noticed and realize how screwed he is.

I feel sorry for the dumb schmuckt (please correct my spelling) who flew him to Arizona for nothing.

I suspect Casey will be turning in his passport soon.

I've been musing over the possibility that KC will pop up on the IRS radar myself. There are plenty of things that could go badly for the fliptard straw buyer in this arena.

1) Not filing a return(s)
2) Not claiming income from blog.
3) 1099
4) Other?

The IRS moves slow, but once they have someone in their grip they never let go. A fate worse than death or prison could be in f@cktard's future.

Eric said...

For sure,

not filing a return for last year
not paying for the year before that

they do move slow but they do move :)

Divorce, lawyer bringing bad news on domain front, frozen assets, IRS, losing trust of family.

So many possibilities.

Rob Dawg said...

No matter what today's bad news may be the mere mention of Costa Rica has got to scream flight risk.

If someone is offering Casey a job in Costa Rica their housing market must be getting ready to implode!

I better call my friends and tell them to dump their vacation homes - NOW!!

What a shame...it was a such a sweet country.

I find it hard to believe that the IRS is giving a rats ass about Casey, at this time or in the future. Perhaps his name will get spit out by a computer with a $200,000 liability note attached to it, but Casey has no money for them to go after.

Too limited of resources to warrant special attention to fliptard.

There are many Casey's (minus the $2.2 million in shady loans) in Moab right now. I know this for a fact. Casey could easily blend in there.

We've speculated in the past where Casey will flee, but the fact is Casey doesn't have to leave the US if he wants to run and hide. And I think that is crossing his mind right now.

Bet: Casey's going underground, and in America it's still easy. Millions of Mexicans and other immigrants do so.

I'm surprised no one has brought up the fact that LMP was on the fraudcast tonight but KC didn't want to have him on. When his turn came up KC mentioned his handle but then said that given the legal situation it would be better not to talk with him, then he moved on to the next caller.

Why was LMP trying to communicate w/KC in the middle of this legal situation?

New CaseyBabble at IAFF. Totally useless post about "Gurus" and "getting into Real Estate".

I think Casey has definitively (sic? - its late...) proven that getting into real estate is easy as hell. Getting OUT of that same real estate is the bitch.

And, FWIW, I think his troublesome meeting this evening had something to do with divorce as well. Something in they way he phrased things led me to believe that it was more personal than legal.

And finally, does he really need to be expending extra calories riding his bike?

You’re presupposing I called in to SPEAK with Casey, not the deal at all. When one calls into the TalkShoe number, outside of logging on the system, the User Name still appears. I had no intention of saying a word had I been un-muted, and “I” have not been the one to initiate contact outside representation (the record of issues I’m not privy to discuss proves that).

I was calling in to listen.

However, I feel I was mislead [sic] on some stuff too.

But you've never misled anyone, right?

He probably got served with divorce papers at his "urgent meeting." Despite what everyone has told him, he didn't believe he would loose™ his wife. He thought that posting a few comments on his blog that appeared contrite would undo the fact that he's ruined her credit and pathologically lied to her for years.

Rob Dawg said...

LMP already explained he was there to listen. I expect tat would be necessary to monitor the possible unravelling of negotiations. Just speculation on my part. That Casey skipped over him is most revealing. His lawyer is having an effect. I suspect the lawyer told him that if Casey talked with anyone outside his presence that the lawyer "would go for his fucking throat." That's the way people talk when they know they are dealing with a floptard.

As to Casey being "surprised" by recent events. Isn't it about time people started reconsidering whether Casey really is any kind of smart?

Miguel said...

People keep banging on about his 131 IQ, but a self-administered test conducted with the admitted aid of a calculator is worse than useless.

Mind you, I've always thought that story summed up Casey to a T - even when conducting an IQ test, which by definition demands a certain amount of effort, he'll do anything he can to get out of doing any actual work!

Unknown said...

I thought it was interesting when Casey mentioned it was getting harder to come up with ideas to entertain the audience.

My money say's he's going shut down the blog and disappear (for awhile at least) because he's come to he realization without conflict (wife, LMP, FBI etc..) there's not much to keep the audience. He's in no-win situation. And while I agree that Duane was a blowhard and LMP a snake they certainly helped kick-start the Casey show.

It’ll be interesting to see how long a blog like this can continue discussing Casey once IAFF shuts down.

Rob Dawg said...

The last time IAFF shut down EN got a huge spike. It was like a methadone clinic after a big bust. This time it won't be so bad with other outlets available.

We till have 6 months or so of Casey follow ups. But mercifully they will be third person type reports on court, prison, bk, etc. There's so much real estate fraud busting that different targets will be refreshing.

fito, you obviously have limited experience in dealing with the IRS. They will come after you for $50. They won't worry, they'll just attach his SS# and let it ride. Interest charges, fees, all add up, and then ten years later when he wins the lottery, or makes money on a book, or inherits, or whatever, they'll be there, and they'll take it all. If Snowflake ever has to get a looser(tm) job they will attach his wages. They won't quit and if he puts them on ignore mode time is on their side. You can't beat the IRS, ask Willie.

Re the Costa Rica opportunity... there is a resurgence in condo and front beach properties sold to people going into retirement. Certainly a good opportunity for a sweet talker. However, if you wanted to buy a condo from your friendly agent Casey Serin, would you? I smell another scam here.

"Two ruined lives?" We're talking about 24-year old kids. Casey's life may well be ruined (and he deserves every bit of it). Galina has a chance to move on from all this. She's young, made a bad decision to marry a loser/abuser, but thankfully pulled her head out of the sand in the nick of time. Her life isn't ruined. She's got a whole Casey-free life ahead of her.

That's why I for one am hoping that the "bad news" was divorce papers. He did allude to "things [on the home front?] being worse than I thought" at the beginning of the talk-cast. I don't recall whether or not that was proximate to the discussion of the meeting.

It's not merely joy at seeing Casey suffer - but even his suffering is self-inflicted. It's difficult to feel sorry for someone who sees the iceberg ahead, straight in his path, thinks "it's all good" so makes no effort to correct the course, and then is REALLY, really distraught when the boat finally crashes into it. Dude did this to himself.

Galina, on the other hand, is NOT doing the same thing over and over and expecting everything to work out. She's actually TAKING "massive focused action" to change the things that need changing in her life, so that she can HAVE a decent life.

Just another perspective.

Miguel said...

This is absolutely correct - and if Casey had done something similar back in September last year, supporterz would outnumber haterz by a factor of several magnitudes. We'd have missed out on a ton of priceless entertainment, but he might have had a chance of putting his life back on track.

As it is, Galina's actually trying to fill in the hole, while Casey's still at the bottom, shovelling away.

SF Gate reports today about a study showing queen bees secrete a pheromone that "inhibits the sterile worker bees' ability to learn from negative experiences." Perhaps Casey's dopaminergic system functions in a way to inhibit his learning from negative experiences, and therefore decreases his ability to change his behavior.

Just getting caught up real quick. I'll listen to the Fraudcast later this week.

In terms of his "big meeting," my WAG is that it was with his parents about their exposure to the corporate credit and that they aren't going to take any of his "itsallgood" crap.

Eric said...

I have to disagree. Whatever it was, it was big enough for it to require:

1) An appointment
2) Stopping the talkcast
3) Casey's attention

I don't think his parents have the ability to control any of those really. It would have to be something big.
The only thing I could imagine is either something with his attorney, or possibly a "meeting with Galina" where he was served. I do think he would stop the talkshoe for a chance to finally speak to her.
