Isolated Pockets My Ass
One of the few remaining elements of optimism amonst the National Association of Real Estate Clerks has been the claim that any downturn will be in isolated pockets. Yeah right. One idjit can wreck 4 local markets in one year and they still spout this crap? I look locally where prices are probably 15% off the peaks and know that it is only a little while before this drags down the west San Fernando Valley meaning the whole Valley. The ripple outward has reflected and isrippling inward. Thousand Oaks is home to Wellpoint, Amgen and Countrywide. Wellpoint is relocating, Amgen is "diversifying geographically" and Countrywide... well we all know what's happening to them. With thousands of million dollar homes going for $400,000 who is going to want to live in Canoga 20 miles away? Ripples not pockets.

**sticks up middle finger at CHJTS**
Who's first now, beeyotch???
It's about time this movie was redone. We want to use Casey Serin's story as the outline for the remake.
Sometimes there are no happy endings.

LOL - you silly bastard.
Hey Guys,
I’ve thought of a new idea that might have some educational value. Since I’m too busy to manage moderation right now I thought I’d post it here for some suggestions. Maybe I could help others in trouble and share my lessons if I write a self help book. My current concept is 7 Habits of Highly Ineffective People. Since I’m an idea person, I may need some help filling in the chapters, but this is what I have on my whiteboard
1.Excessive napping
2.No money down loans
3.Drinking more Jamba juice than you can afford
4.Veganism with premium beef
5. Late night business meetings
6. Marrying Galina
7. Leaving your brain at the whiteboard.
Gee, I guess I’ve made a lot of mistakes, because I sure am having trouble limiting it to 7. Maybe it’s OK to increase the number of habits in my case. Especially since I’m an ENTP. It might be a good idea to include a chapter on learning how to spell, reading what you sign and remembering to your meds. Hmm. Some other ideas on the table include Everything I Need to Know About Life I Didn’t Learn in Kindergarten, The Debtor Next Door, 9 Steps to Financial Disaster…Maybe you guys can help me focus my thinking.
Maybe they're not wrong - Because California, Boston, and Connecticut ARE "isolated pockets." They've never had much in common with the rest of the country.
You thought they meant "certain cities," but no - if you read it as "certain states," it makes way more sense!
Anybody read the LA Times business section today?
Here's an interesting line from an article on KB Homes:
KB Home results hint market is improving
KB Home on Tuesday gave the latest evidence that the housing downturn may be easing, reporting improving cancellation rates as well as rebounding sales on the West and East coasts.
The Westwood-based company became the second major home builder in two weeks to report encouraging sales and cancellation trends, following Irvine-based Standard Pacific Corp.

Any thoughts or criticisms of this?

okay superfast you win...I was taking a 4 hour nap in honor and tribute to casey.
Actually, I have been so damn tired burning the candle at both ends the last couple of weeks that I need a couple of days to get my mindset back.
So yes you win..I was sleeping.
