FBI? Small Issue Itsallgood
I never thought Casey would mention the FBI. Wow. He thinks some little federal business is worth not mentioning compared to what happened yesterday? What does Casey always say is most important? Certainly not the FBI.
Wow...Casey is in moderation overdrive tonight. It only took about 10 minutes from the time I submitted a comment to having it actually post to IAFF.
Casey (cause I know you are reading this....) Don't you have more pressing matters at hand than instantly moderating comments on your supposedly doomed blog??

I vaguely remember that he became a citizen several years ago--sometime between 2002 and 2004. I don't entirely know the basis for that information, but if he came to the U.S. in 1994 the timeline would make sense.
Here's an interesting wrinkle (this is a rehash from a thread several weeks ago): there might be a basis for denaturalization if the feds actually wanted to pursue it, even though it's not likely to happen. The argument goes like this: Casey lied on his naturalization application when he (presumably) answered no to the question asking whether he's committed any crime, regardless of whether he'd been arrested or charged. The crime he failed to disclose would be again wire fraud--see the pyramid scams he was pushing when he was 14, before his naturalization application. One problem with the argument is that you'd need to show the non-disclosure was material to the good character determination made during the naturalization process. Proving materiality might be tough if all he did was the MLM stuff we've read about. This is all hypothetical anyway.

Look, Rob Dawg is in the clear on this. He isn't teasing out stories, he's saying that yes, things are happening, but to reveal them would be to hurt real people. So maybe he's going about it in a bit of an oddball manner, maybe it's annoying. But first - it's just a blog, and second - unlike Casey, he's being quite careful from what I've seen to avoid any 'real-life damage' from it. Chill, and besides, I don't think that Casey can spin his way out of Federal discovery proceedings and court records.

I have to admit Rob, I have pretty much stopped frequenting EN like I was because I have felt that you, Duane, and LMP were no longer "dropping hints" but rather had gravitated towards out and out trolling. It's one thing to not say anything to protect the innocent (which I am totally behind you on!) but another thing all together to rub it in everyone's noses that you guys know "privilaged" information that we aren't privy too.

Personally, I would give anything for the old EN back where we gleefully Casey bashed, speculated,and accepted nuggets of information as it became available. This new era of trolling by both the posters and the inner circle has chased me away to the point that I only drop by every other day or so to see if there is any legitimate news.
Rob, I am very sorry to see EN become what it has. I loved this place and will miss it very much. I will continue to do occational drop-ins but I just don't see myself being a part of it the way I felt I have been in the past.

Some folks get more directly involved,and bring in the lawyers,and then information is no longer "free"...speech is self-censored, and people get their feelingz hurt because of it.
Differences become more important than the single issue that we share.

However, it is frustrating to have it constantly repeated over and over and over again that there is sooooo much we don't know, if only we knew the WHOLE story we wouldn't be haterz, we'd be loatherz. Those following the Serin thing are all here for a collective purpose (as Shark aptly points out), and I think you’ll soon agree that end was met. How “WE” (as in the regulars here and those at CHC) got here isn’t important. This wasn’t a single person effort, many had a hand. I’d like to see credit where credit is due.
What matters is that there appears to be a very good outcome to this whole saga, in the works right now; one good for Casey and good for everyone else. I can't speak for anyone else but I thought I made it fairly clear why I have come here in the past and why I won't be fequenting as much in the future in my 11:27p.m. post. As far as demanding the story? I don't recall demanding anything, only posing the idea of waiting to post anything about the juicy stuff until Rob has the absolute final go ahead to do so.
I have been silent as all this has evolved over the last several weeks and only tonight voiced my opinion. Can I go elsewhere? Of course, and I probably will, but not with out a sad heart because I really had come to love visiting here every time I had a few moments. - Rob took a large part of Casey's audience. They ONLY cane here because Rob provided an unmoderated forum to counter Casey. That hurt Casey and made Casey read here.
- Rob CHANGED HIS BLOG to accommodate the new audience.
- The number of links and hits at EN made this the premier Haterz blog, even getting sweet press.
- The readers here did MUCH of the legwork in finding little bits and pieces to put the whole puzzle together.
- Rob allowed free posting of information that Casey denied. But the readers did the posting, and the posting is the heat. Rob's Blurbs are, for the most part, forgettable. It's the readers who contribute the heft.
- Readers here put together Caseypedia.
And on and on and on
Sharky, it's symbiotic. Rob can't get it done without loyal, active participants. Without Rob, the loyal, active participants would have had nowhere to post.

I do agree with you, although several folk claiming to be lawyers have indeed written me privately and applauded the effort. This said not to be argumentative, but to demonstrate a point. Attorneys are held to a different standard than non-lawyer folk, so I wouldn’t expect them to publicly support a Pro Per pulling off the deed. But as I’ve stated several times before, Sid, the reason I went Pro Per was to control costs. NOT because I think I can do a better job than competent counsel, not hardly, but because my opposition has little in the way of assets.
Had I hired a good lawyer (and believe me, I know many) costs at this stage, would already be upwards of several grand with no assurance of recovery. So my Pro Per status was never a slight against attorneys, but a matter of cost control. My Pro Per decision, REALLY was as simple as that.
But hey, speaking ONLY for myself, I don’t except everyone to understand nor agree with what I’ve done. I never had any delusions about that, and (despite my public demeanor at times) I appreciate genuine disagreement (not snark). That is something I can honor, and how I view your take; respected!

@LMP: In my experience, a wise lawyer will not automatically disregard a suit just because it was filed in pro per. If I am mistaken, considering that most judges are retired litigators, I'd reconsider filing in pro per.
IIRC, some lawyers on IAFF and CH had criticized the procedural posture you had taken. I do not know whether they were California licensed.

Most normal people would say 'divorce', but Casey isn't a normal person. Rob knows that.

What's worse than the FBI? The IRS? Seems a bit early for an audit.
So I'd have to guess that the worse thing that could happen to Casey is being charged with a crime or crimes that could send him to the big house; no white collar prison but the real deal, where pretty blond boys who weigh 140 lbs can suffer very bad things.

I vaguely remember that he became a citizen several years ago--sometime between 2002 and 2004. I don't entirely know the basis for that information, but if he came to the U.S. in 1994 the timeline would make sense.
Here's an interesting wrinkle (this is a rehash from a thread several weeks ago): there might be a basis for denaturalization if the feds actually wanted to pursue it, even though it's not likely to happen. The argument goes like this: Casey lied on his naturalization application when he (presumably) answered no to the question asking whether he's committed any crime, regardless of whether he'd been arrested or charged. The crime he failed to disclose would be again wire fraud--see the pyramid scams he was pushing when he was 14, before his naturalization application. One problem with the argument is that you'd need to show the non-disclosure was material to the good character determination made during the naturalization process. Proving materiality might be tough if all he did was the MLM stuff we've read about. This is all hypothetical anyway.

- I understand your frustrations - I am frustrated too, and I have been there and here since Sepember, called FBI, Wells Fargo, Random House for the Dan Brown pirated bookcover - small stuff.
But if there is a gag order - those who know cannot tell. The thing is - every time Rob/Duane make a comment, we assume it is always meaningful in a sense of being a revelation, which might not be always the case - but in our minds they are the ones that "know", therefore all comes out as teasing.

I have to admit Rob, I have pretty much stopped frequenting EN like I was because I have felt that you, Duane, and LMP were no longer "dropping hints" but rather had gravitated towards out and out trolling. It's one thing to not say anything to protect the innocent (which I am totally behind you on!) but another thing all together to rub it in everyone's noses that you guys know "privilaged" information that we aren't privy too.
If you can't share with us because of your obligations to those who have shared, that's fine, but don't say you know something and will clue us in at some indefinable time later. I would much prefer that you say nothing at all until you have the go ahead.

Personally, I would give anything for the old EN back where we gleefully Casey bashed, speculated,and accepted nuggets of information as it became available. - Rob took a large part of Casey's audience. They ONLY cane here because Rob provided an unmoderated forum to counter Casey. That hurt Casey and made Casey read here.
- Rob CHANGED HIS BLOG to accommodate the new audience.
- The number of links and hits at EN made this the premier Haterz blog, even getting sweet press.
- The readers here did MUCH of the legwork in finding little bits and pieces to put the whole puzzle together.
- Rob allowed free posting of information that Casey denied. But the readers did the posting, and the posting is the heat. Rob's Blurbs are, for the most part, forgettable. It's the readers who contribute the heft.
- Readers here put together Caseypedia.

The problem is that if what you were hoping for doesn't come to pass (and you don't have the go-ahead to post), the disappointment is just that much greater.
I respect what you three have done so far, and you have sacrificed a lot to be part of this community (your anonymity for one), but out of respect for your readers could you just try to avoid teasing statements until you're certain that you can deliver on the news?

I do agree with you, although several folk claiming to be lawyers have indeed written me privately and applauded the effort. Moreover, out of all the fine counsel that frequent this board, has one California lawyer stepped forward PUBLICLY to counter my understanding of procedural elements or that of the law?
NOPE, not that I’ve seen!
This said not to be argumentative, but to demonstrate a point. Attorneys are held to a different standard than non-lawyer folk, so I wouldn’t expect them to publicly support a Pro Per pulling off the deed. But as I’ve stated several times before, Sid, the reason I went Pro Per was to control costs. NOT because I think I can do a better job than competent counsel, not hardly, but because my opposition has little in the way of assets.
Had I hired a good lawyer (and believe me, I know many) costs at this stage, would already be upwards of several grand with no assurance of recovery. So my Pro Per status was never a slight against attorneys, but a matter of cost control. My Pro Per decision, REALLY was as simple as that.
But hey, speaking ONLY for myself, I don’t except everyone to understand nor agree with what I’ve done. I never had any delusions about that, and (despite my public demeanor at times) I appreciate genuine disagreement (not snark). That is something I can honor, and how I view your take; respected!
People don’t have to agree 100% of the time; life would be extremely boring if we all did and on that I hope you’ll, well... Agree? ;)

Last night reminds me of the old BATMAN TV series when Batman would yank Robin's chain as the clues were put together before the big take down. Robin would get all pissed off until Batman gave the final answer whereby Robin would say "GOSH!, How did I miss that!!".

I do love how Rob is letting Snowflake tell his own story of a death spirial. To write it, he has to admit it. No defensive "It's all good" response.

The 1 item I am wondering about is why did Rob welcome Marty? Like Duane, I have a feeling there is more going on with MS than meets the eye. Why would he spend so much money on trolls to disrupt the dawg pack on his trail over a 5K passive income when he had already let all the details out on his server? It was the reason I was asking if MS or his legal team was at the courthouse.

Duane, very good. I'm not sure if you have followed my posts over the past 3 weeks but I've tried very hard to keep Marty "Pagedaddy" Stewart's name on the frontside. (which should help out with SEO-organic!). I feel there was a lot there that needed to be reminded. People were getting lost in the "hate" towards yourself, Mark, and Rob and forgetting the real criminals out there.

Casey has thrown Marty under the bus just like he has everyone else foolish or unlucky enough or lured into the Caseyworld reality distortion field. The latest visctim is Marty. In this episode Casey is claiming that Marty was making him do illegal things. Casey is so sorry he briefly considered and almost did illegal things. It is all that bad Marty's fault.
Reality is Casey needed to do things illegally because any legal proceeds would go to his creditors and not his pocket.
We are still waiting for Casey to admit what forced him to shut down the blog, shut down the mailing list, shut down all efforts excepting the search for a W-2, to disavow all past efforts and declare them failures and actually almost sorta kinda make a conditional apology. Divine visitation? Not hardly. Worse than his holding back despite needing to be honest is that this transformation is insincere.
Although if Casey did go to the FBI, they'd probably be like "Oh, you exaggerated your income on loan applications? Really? We're trying to catch terrorists. Take your fucking murse and get out of here, hippie."

The shutdown has to have something to do with a legal settlement. What struck me initially from his post last night was the "will do no more business for at least 2 years"....that is something that would come out of either a legal settlement AND/OR a criminal plea.

Snowflake got LMP to negotiate with his creditors, all the while knowing that he'd arranged to hide his assets? With the debt negotiated down, Snowflake could likely get away with filing bankruptcy, or just never paying and ending up judgement-proof.

The first sentence may be true, but the second certainly isn't. After 9/11, the FBI's priorities changed. At least half their resources are allocated towards fighting terrorism.
@LMP: In my experience, a wise lawyer will not automatically disregard a suit just because it was filed in pro per. If I am mistaken, considering that most judges are retired litigators, I'd reconsider filing in pro per.
IIRC, some lawyers on IAFF and CH had criticized the procedural posture you had taken. I do not know whether they were California licensed.
